Abstract

Der Themenschwerpunkt dieses Bandes fokussiert pädagogische und bildungspolitische Optionen konservativen Denkens und Handelns im 20. Jahrhundert. [...] Diskutiert wird das Verhältnis zwischen einem politischen und einem im engeren Sinne pädagogischen Konservatismus: Was meint im Kontext von Bildung und Erziehung zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten eigentlich Konservatismus bzw. woran ist er erkennbar? Was machen die Kontinuitäten eines politischen und pädagogischen Denkens und einer politischen und pädagogischen Praxis aus, die sich als konservativ kennzeichnen lassen, wo sich doch ganz offensichtlich deren Inhalte und Optionen in den letzten anderthalb Jahrhunderten durchaus änderten? Ist dem Phänomen des Konservatismus gerade in bildungshistorischer Perspektive besser auf die Spur zu kommen, wenn man, statt allein ideengeschichtlich zu verfahren, soziale Milieus rekonstruiert und Netzwerke untersucht, wie es Mannheim für die Konservatismusforschung bereits in den 1920er-Jahren vorgeschlagen hat?
