    Lidar is extensively used in the industry and mass-market. Due to its measurement accuracy and insensitivity to illumination compared to cameras. It is applied onto a broad range of applications, like geodetic engineering, self-driving cars or virtual reality. But the 3D Lidar with multibeam is very expensive, and the massive measurements data cannot be fully leveraged on some constrained platforms. The purpose of this paper is to explore the possibility of using cheap 2D Lidar off-the-shelf, to perform complex 3D reconstruction, moreover, the generated 3D map quality is evaluated by our proposed metrics at the end. The 3D map is constructed in two ways, one way in which the scan is performed at known positions with an external rotary axis not parallel to the intrinsic rotary axis of Lidar. The other way, in which the 2D Lidar for mapping and another 2D Lidar for localization are placed on a trolley, the trolley is pushed on the ground arbitrarily. The generated maps by different approaches are converted to octomaps uniformly before the evaluation. The similarity and difference between two maps will be evaluated by the proposed metrics thoroughly. The whole mapping system is composed of several modular components. A 3D bracket was made for assembling of the Lidar with a long range, the driver and the motor together. A cover platform made for the IMU and 2D Lidar with a shorter range but high accuracy. The software is stacked up in different ROS packages.

    The Integrated Weed Management System has been applied with variable success in many crops since its establishment in 1991. Environmental awareness, growing problems with herbicide resistance and a lack of new active ingredients, resulted in weed control not only with chemicals but also other measures. The aim of the study was to examine long-term IWM measures - combined application of crop rotation and herbicides on weed biomass and maize yield. The trial has been conducted since 2009, encompassing maize continuous cropping (MC), maize-winter wheat (MW), maize-soybean-winter wheat (MSW) and maize-winter wheat-soybean (MWS) rotations. The isoxaflutole + acetochlor mixture at recommended (RR), half of the recommended rate (0.5RR) and no-herbicides (C) were preemergence treatments applied in maize. Weed biomass was recorded from two randomly selected sites in the middle of each plot by square meter method, 6-7 weeks after the application of herbicides. Maize grain yield was calculated at 14% moisture at the end of the growing season. The data were processed by ANOVA and LSD-test (α = 0.05). According to the 10-year average, weed biomass had decreased with the application of herbicide 0.5RR by 69.2%, 90.0%, 83.2% and 70.9% and of RR by 79.2%, 94.2%, 93.9% and 81.3% in MC, MW, MSW and MWS rotation, respectively. Herbicide RR was in average more effective than 0.5RR by 8.8% while the most effective in weed biomass reduction in average for both herbicide rates were MW and MSW rotations - 94.2% and 93.9%, respectively. Herbicide weed control contributed to the grain yield increase even in MC by 31.0% and 43.1% with 0.5RR and RR, respectively, while MSW was the most effective rotation and increased yield by 36.1% and 30.5% with 05.RR and RR, respectively. This indicates a significant correlation between the weed biomass decrease and the maize yield increase, as well as the importance of a preceding crop for maize productivity in integrated crop production systems with reduced herbicide use.

    Many academic libraries are struggling with collections size reaching or exceeding building capacity. Meanwhile, the movement of twenty-first-century libraries calls for user-centered space. The combination of these two factors has challenged libraries to identify ways to eliminate physical collections without losing access to content. The academic libraries in the State of Florida, including the University of Central Florida (UCF), have discussed and developed plans for a shared print repository for several years. For the past few years a statewide Shared Storage Task Force was convened with representation from the state university libraries, and eventually formed the Florida Academic Repository (FLARE) under the leadership of the University of Florida. In 2012, FLARE received the first large shipment from a participating library, the University of Miami. After a few months of active planning, UCF implemented its project preparing materials to send to FLARE and is poised to be the next library contributing to FLARE. As presented, the UCF FLARE project requires tremendous coordination and collaboration within the multiple units in the Technical Services Division at UCF and with the external FLARE Team in Gainesville. Policies and procedures were developed with guidance from the FLARE Team, and internal workflow was designed to ensure accurate processing. This presentation focused on providing an overview of the FLARE project with a specific focus on the UCF experience in selecting and processing materials. Statewide Shared Storage in Florida: Realizing the Benefits of Cooperation The University of Central Florida (UCF) is one of the fastest growing universities in the nation. The John C. Hitt Library, as the first building on campus, is quickly approaching its capacity for both collections growth and user space. Options such as expansion, renovation, and on-site storage had all been explored. But due to funding limits or logistic issues, none had materialized. At the same time, many of UCF’s peer institutes in the State of Florida have been facing the same dilemma. That was how the idea of shared storage was born. Early discussions about a statewide shared storage project go back several years and may well have originated when the Collection Planning Committee for the State University Libraries in Florida created a task force to review the “Six Key Challenges for the Future of Collection Development” as presented by Ross Atkinson at the Janus Conference held at Cornell University in 2005. After months of planning and discussion, this committee presented slightly edited versions of the original Janus Challenges, and the name “Janus in Florida” was given to the new initiatives that included creation of separate task forces to address each of the six major challenges. One of the major challenges in this initiative was a shared print repository. A new committee was formed to explore the idea of a shared facility. Initial discussions revolved around location, building specifications, financial support, collection parameters, resource sharing, circulation policies, and the inclusion of a state-ofthe-art conservation lab. Early plans to house a digitization unit within the storage facility turned out to be forward-thinking and advantageous given the current importance of balancing print repositories with digital access to the print content when possible. As planning and design moved toward physical location, the

    Authors: Jianbo Liu;

    In current, China's rural financial system is not perfect, the issues of imbalance rural credit structure and others are outstanding, resulting in a low level of rural financial services. In the third plenary session of the eighteenth communist party of China, it has put forward new demands for China's rural financial service innovation, which urgently needs us to explore the innovative strategies of rural financial services, such as in the aspects of property relations of financial organizations in rural, promoting microcredit business in rural financial services, accelerating rural credit products and services to adapt to the new economic and social development in rural areas. The status analysis of China's rural financial services At present, China's rural financial services have many problems in terms of multi-level financial products demand, financial services mode, and financial competition mechanism, etc. the rural financial system is still in an unsound development stage, lack of richness [1]. Meanwhile, rural financial services is also in a facility lacking state. New rural construction, urbanization and the development of modern agriculture requires a lot of financial support, which put forward higher requirements for China's rural financial service innovation. In other words, rural financial services is the material basis for agricultural development, it plays an important role in promoting new rural construction, urbanization and the development of modern agriculture. Due to the constraints of the financial system, in current, the main force of service for "three rural" is rural credit cooperative organizations. from 2012 to 2013, the statistical data of China's rural credit cooperatives (quarter is the unit), mainly included the reserve assets (the number of the end of a month) in the rural credit cooperatives, reserve fund (the number of the end of a month), cash on hand (the number of the end of a month), the central Bank bonds (the number of the end of a month), the government debt (the number of the end of a month), etc. It can be found in the four quarters of 2012, the data of rural credit cooperatives’ reserve assets are imbalance. While in 2013, the data of rural credit cooperatives’ reserve assets are stabilized, but relative to 2012, it is showing a growth trend, which to some extent indicates the condition of rural financial market; in 2012 to 2013, reserve assets of rural credit cooperatives reserves funds (the number of the end of a month) are stabilized; the change of reserve assets of rural credit cooperatives cash on hand (the number of the end of a month) is relatively large, from 2012 to 2013, in several quarters it is declined, and in a unstable state of development; the data of assets of rural credit cooperatives – the central bank bonds (the number of the end of a month) in the beginning of the first quarter of 2012 and the quarter of the end of 2013 are closed, while in the middle, the development is also tend to the balance state; The data of rural credit cooperatives on government debt (the number of the end of a month) appeared reducing state in the unstable trend, especially in the last two quarters of 2013. Thus, rural credit cooperatives have a significant impact on China's rural financial services market, each set of data of rural credit cooperatives will indirectly affect China's rural financial development. Table1:The data of rural credit cooperatives from 2012to2013 2nd International Conference on Education Technology and Information System (ICETIS 2014) © 2014. For example, seem from more than ten years development situation from 2000 to 2013, the balance of urban and rural residents’ savings deposits at the end of the year are increased gradually, which are closely linked with the living standard of urban residents, it is the most powerful performance of the rapid development of rural productivity. While, although the annual increased amount of urban and rural residents’ savings deposits showed an unstable situation, seem from recent developments this year, the increased range of urban and rural residents’ savings deposits is very large, from less than ten thousand at the beginning increasing to the amount of more than twenty thousand, the increased magnitude is evident. From the above data of balance of urban and rural residents’ savings deposits at the end of the year and the annual increased amount of urban and rural residents’ savings deposits, it can be found that with the improvement of living standards of urban and rural areas, the rural urban income is gradually increasing, the standard of living is getting better, we can say, these data suggest that the prospects for the development of China's rural financial market is optimistic, especially after 2000, in the last ten years of the development process, the pace of development of China's rural financial market is also advancing with the times. The standard deviation of the Horizontal Wind Speed as a proxy of wind turbulence is used to compare the apparent wind turbulence measured by an off-shore floating Doppler lidar to the one measured by a fixed lidar on a metmast. We use statistical analysis based on clustering the horizontal wind speed measured by the floating lidar as well as buoy angular amplitude and period under the approximation of harmonic motion. Three scenarios with different wave and wind conditions are discussed from the IJmuiden's test campaign (North Sea.). The depletion of the pool of unallocated IPv4 addresses has introduced new challenges in the deployment of the Internet of Things across IPv6 and IPv4 networks. In previous work we developed a CoAP-based transition architecture specifically designed to overcome some of these challenges. In this respect, this article extends that work identifying the most common IoT scenarios and their requirements to successfully achieve seamless cross-domain communication in IoT. Furthermore, an analysis of our architecture and the state-of-the-art network transition technologies is conducted on the basis of those requirements. Among other aspects, the analysis provides new insights of the shortcomings of our architecture. Based on these shortcomings, the article proposes new extensions of the architecture in order to achieve seamless communication across the most common IoT scenarios.

    While the smart city gains global attention as a popular umbrella term for digitally enabled sustainable city development, city ad- ministrations are faced with the managerial challenge that comes with a strategic digital transformation. Smart city projects form the frontline of smart city strategies. In these smart projects, cities find a way to implement the principles of the smart city. Many of these are high-visibility projects with substantial budget implications, and therefore require scrutiny by means of a formal selection and evaluation process. In this research-in-progress paper we propose the outline for a project-level smart value assessment instrument. The instrument should serve at the same time as a tool for smart city managers to assess and plan upfront how a project will con- tribute to reach the city’s smart city ambition, as well as a post factum evaluation. The conceptual instrument has been developed in action-design research mode in collaboration with practitioners in the city of Brisbane, Australia and is demonstrated by mapping four smart city initiatives in different international contexts.

    This paper considers whether, and if so how, ICT might play a role in addressing loneliness and social isolation for older adults in rural areas. We base our paper on a longitudinal co-creation study that has been undertaken in a rural location in the North of England. We adopt a practice perspective to examine the everyday practices of older adults as they sought out opportunities to address their desire for social connectedness and explore how technology might support them in those practices. Specifically, we argue that we need to identify the linking practices that enable participation in social connectedness through ICT. Based on this, we develop a model to guide future practice based studies and interventions.

    The dangers of forest fires in Indonesia are now seen as a regional and even global disaster. This may result in smokes haze which can destabilize security in all sectors of the economy, including aviation. This research aims to detect haze using the brightness temperature of MODIS’ infrared channel. As known that the MODIS Aqua and Terra satellites are equipped by especially the infrared channel of wavelengths of 10.780 – 11.280 µ m (channel 31) and 11.770 – 12.270 µ m (channel 32) as well as of wavelength of 3.929 – 3.989 µ m (channel 22) and 4.020 – 4.080 µ m (channel 23) which could be utilized to estimate the brightness temperature and to understand how the surface temperature was occurred and distributed. In this case, the brightness temperature was measured using the multi-channel method. However, the radiance value of the NASA’s website data that is different from the brightness temperature of the LAPAN’s website data was converted by applying the Planck formula. The conclusions of the research show that there was a similarity spatial performance (digital imagery) of haze detection between both data sources, especially the data of 15 – 16 July 2018 and 6 – 7 August 2019. The spatial results of channels 22 – 23 described a lot of contact between the values of basic surface, fog, sandstorm, and smoke values. Meanwhile, the spatial result of channels 31 and 32 identified the majority contact of fog and cloud.

    Authors: Jianbo Liu;
