    The rise in agricultural prices to alarming levels since 2007 characterized the agrinflation phenomenon. Because of the increase in food prices and the expectation of strong population growth in the coming years, the issue of land grabbing by foreigners in the world has been drawing the attention, especially in African and Latin American regions. In Brazil, the land grabbing by foreigners has increased since 2008. In 2010, this increase has led the General Attorney of the Union (AGU) to reinterpret the Brazilian legislation of land acquisition, in order to limit the access to Brazilian landed property by foreigners. The debate about land grabbing by foreigners is controversial. There is no doubt about the importance of monitoring the integration of foreigners in Brazilian economy, which can be done by registering and updating data from land acquisition data. Moreover, there should be caution in terms of investments from sovereign wealth funds from countries with strong interest in importing Brazilian primary products. However, it is important to mention that the state can regulate the market even with a legislation that is more flexible to foreign investments.

    Aloe plants have a great therapeutic potential, which is attributed to the several bioactive compounds found in their composition. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the profile of secondary metabolites and the morphophysiological characteristics of Aloe plants collected at different periods and submitted to different growing conditions. So, axillary buds were collected at two different periods and grown in vitro in MS culture medium containing naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) under controlled conditions for 30 days. Then, the morphophysiological characterization and the analysis of the profile of metabolites produced by the plants were performed (HS-SPME / GC-MS techniques). The results showed that the BAP concentrations did not influence the morphophysiological characteristics of the plants. Almost all plants showed a 100% rooting percentage (RP) when grown in vitro, both with and without BAP in the nutrient medium. Only the plants subjected to BAP concentration of 3 mg L-1 showed a lower RP. The rise in BAP concentrations also promotes a reduction in the total area of ​​volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in plants. Some compounds (hexanal; 2-hexenal; 1-hexanol; 1-nonanol; 2-decanone; beta-ionone) showed a significant reduction (> 0.10%) in their concentration as the concentration of BAP was incremented in the medium cultivation. Nevertheless, the in vitro cultivated plants showed a greater total area and concentration of VOCs than the in vivo cultivated plants. A babosa possui grande potencial terapêutico, o qual é atribuído aos diversos compostos bioativos presentes em sua composição. Logo, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o perfil dos metabólitos secundários e as características morfofisiológicas em plantas de babosa coletadas em épocas distintas e submetidas a diferentes condições de cultivo. Para isso, gemas axilares foram coletas em 2 épocas distintas e cultivadas in vitro em meio de cultura MS contendo ácido naftalenoacético (ANA) e 6-benzilaminopurina (BAP) sob condições controladas durante 30 dias. Em seguida, foi realizada a caracterização morfofisiológica e a análise do perfil de metabolitos produzidos pelas plantas (técnicas HS-SPME/GC-MS). Constatou-se por meio dos resultados que as concentrações de BAP não influenciaram nas características morfofisiológicas das plantas. Quase todas as plantas apresentaram 100% de porcentagem de enraizamento (PR) quando cultivadas in vitro, tanto na ausência quanto na presença de BAP no meio nutritivo. Apenas as plantas submetidas a concentração de BAP de 3 mg L-1 apresentaram PR inferior. O aumento das concentrações de BAP também promoveu a redução da área total dos compostos orgânicos voláteis (COV’s) das plantas. Alguns compostos (hexanal; 2-hexenal; 1-hexanol; 1-nonanol; 2-decanona; beta-ionona) apresentaram diminuição significativa (>0,10%) da sua concentração à medida em que houve aumento da concentração de BAP ao meio de cultivo. Contudo, as plantas cultivadas in vitro apresentaram maior área total e concentração dos COV’s do que as plantas cultivadas in vivo.

    As definições conceituais e operacionais sobre as ruralidades se transformam ao longo do tempo. Com elas, alteram-se também as propostas teórico-normativas e políticas para o desenvolvimento rural. Este artigo recorre à literatura internacional e nacional para introduzir brevemente as múltiplas noções do termo desenvolvimento, bem como sua utilização ideológica; posteriormente aborda os modelos de desenvolvimento rural, caracterizando os principais elementos que despontam nos discursos peritos sobre o tema. Ao tratar do debate contemporâneo sobre desenvolvimento rural, o artigo destaca como este foi associado à noção de sustentabilidade e como incorporou, em suas propostas, metodologias descentralizadas, participativas e territorializadas. Esse percurso das múltiplas noções que envolvem o desenvolvimento rural é analisado à luz dateoria sociológica contemporânea, com destaque às formulações de Anthony Giddens acerca dos sistemas peritos. Entende-se, assim, que atores estrategicamente posicionados regulam reflexivamente as condições globais de reprodução – manutenção ou mudança – dos sistemas sociais, fomentando relações desencaixadas espaço temporalmente.

    A presente pesquisa buscou avaliar o nível de conhecimento e o uso do método Plan, Do, Check, Action (PDCA) e de ferramentas da qualidade no agronegócio de Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), bem como a relação entre o uso dessas técnicas e o desempenho das empresas que as utilizam. Para isso, realizou-se uma pesquisa exploratória descritiva, usando uma amostra de empresas agroindustriais de Mato Grosso do Sul, aplicando-se um questionário semi-estruturado aos profissionais dirigentes das mesmas. Constatou-se que o número de agroindústrias que utilizam o método PDCA é pequeno, enquanto é moderado o número de empresas que usam alguma ferramenta da qualidade no gerenciamento de seus processos. Com relação ao impacto do uso dessas técnicas nos processos industriais, observou-se que houve melhorias em grande parte das agroindústrias que as utilizam. Constatou-se que o não conhecimento dessas técnicas é um dos fatores mais relevantes para a não utilização das mesmas. Foi possível identificar algumas características de empresas que utilizam mais efetivamente o método PDCA e ferramentas da qualidade, que são: maior número de funcionários; maior nível de instrução de suas equipes e maior nível de automação de processos.

    The knowledge of the technological properties of the wood is important for the management and rational use of forest species. The study of the physical properties of Calycophyllum spruceanum wood aims to provide subsidies for timber production in estuarine floodplain forests. Samples were collected at base and top of the stem from 15 trees with different diameters to determine the physical properties (basic density, anisotropic factor and axial, radial, tangential and volumetric shrinkage), according to NBR 7190/97. C. spruceanum wood showed overall average of 0.65 g.cm-3 for density, 5.1% for radial shrinkage, 7.3% for tangential shrinkage, 14.1% for volumetric shrinkage and 1.6 for anisotropic factor. By analysis of covariance there was a significant effect of position on the stem only for anisotropic factor and tangential shrinkage, where the highest values for these properties were obtained at the base of the stem of the trees. The inexistence of significant effect of diameter at breast height (DBH) trees on the physical properties studied associated with values of basic density and adequate, from the aspect of dimensional stability for the anisotropic factor show that the timber of the species presents possibilities to be used as solid wood, even from trees under the minimum logging diameters (50 cm), established by Brazilian law.

The current technological advances allow the use of extremely minor processing architectures in relation to personal computers, giving us the ability to build new agricultural equipment using sensors (GPS, ultrasound, multispectral visible, infrared, images); changing paradigms and promoting the work at smaller scales can reach the leaf level through intelligent autonomous robots acting in the desired place, at the appropriate time, and navigating the appropriate path. Thus, the present study aimed to develop an autonomous agricultural robot (Field Robot) called NAVIGO, whose function is to traverse farmland collecting soil samples. To that end, we developed a mobile platform with a robotic arm using embedded computing system based on the Android mobile phone (Smartphone) and IOIO for Android controller. The system as a whole is intended to navigation in the role of information gatherer (soil amples). Results showed stable performance of the prototype allowing its use as a handy tool in performing the sampling of soils for agricultural areas for small and medium businesses. No futuro será indispensável a robótica no ambiente agrícola, sendo grande oportunidade neste momento o desenvolvimento de novos trabalhos e pesquisas, com a geração de patentes, transformando os conhecimentos em produtos comerciais. Os avanços tecnológicos atuais permitem utilizar arquiteturas de processamento extremamente menores em relação aos computadores pessoais, que nos dão condições de construir novos equipamentos agrícolas utilizando sensores (GPS, ultrassom, multiespectral visível, infrared, imagens); modificando paradigmas e promovendo o trabalho em escalas menores podendo chegar ao nível foliar, através de robôs inteligentes autônomos atuando no lugar desejado, no momento apropriado, e navegando no trajeto adequado. Desta forma, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo o desenvolvimento de um robô agrícola autônomo (Field Robot), denominado NAVIGO, que tem por função percorrer talhões agricultáveis coletando amostras de solos. Para tanto, foi desenvolvido uma plataforma móvel com um braço robótico utilizando sistema computacional embarcado baseado no telefone móvel Android (Smartphone) e controlador IOIO para Android. O sistema como um todo tem por finalidade a navegação desempenhando a função de coletor de informações (amostras de solos). Os resultados obtidos demonstraram atuação estável do protótipo permitindo o seu uso como ferramenta útil na execução de coletas de amostras de solos para áreas agrícolas de pequeno e médio porte.

Studies on the spatial variability of soil attributes associated with soybean yield, provide recommendations for doses o with varied rates, according to the maps created by spatial models. The diagnostic study on influential points is a recommended procedure for studies on spatial variability. Detecting the influential points through local influence allows measuring the changes that these points have influence on and the construction of the thematic map. This paper aims to present studies on local influence in linear spatial models considering as dependent variable soybean yield and as covariates Carbon (C), Calcium (Ca), Potassium (K), Magnesium (Mg), Manganese (Mn) and Phosphorus (P). The study on local influence is held in the response variable and the covariates using additive disturbances. O estudo de diagnóstico de pontos influentes é um procedimento recomendado nos estudos da variabilidade espacial. Detectar os pontos influentes, por meio da influência local, possibilita medir as alterações que esses pontos influenciam nos resultados e na construção do mapa temático.     O milho é uma das plantas cultivadas mais importantes do Mundo; ela tem muitas pragas, a lagarta-do-cartucho (Spodoptera frugiperda L.) é um caso sério e tem sido a principal praga desta cultura no Brasil por vários anos. Por outro lado, muitos inimigos naturais ocorrem naturalmente e desempenham um papel de suma importância para a regulação da população de insetos-pragas. Neste estudo, nós comparamos a infestação da lagarta-do-cartucho e seus inimigos naturais em duas condições de cultivo. As condições (tratamentos) foram: (1) milho de sequeiro e (2) milho irrigado. Sete avaliações de campo foram aplicadas em 50 plantas por tratamento. Os resultados mostraram que as infestações de S. frugiperda são mais agressivas em milho de sequeiro do que em milho irrigado, esta situação sugere que na safrinha de milho há maior risco da praga. Forficulidae foi a família abundante dentre os predadores presentes, e a ocorrência dos inimigos naturais não foi afetada pela condição de cultivo.

    As plantas daninhas presentes no trigo competem por diversos fatores exercendo impacto negativo na produtividade da cultura. Nesse contexto, o objetivo do estudo foi analisar morfologicamente o trigo e o azevém, em resposta ao estresse causado pela competição. Conduziuse experimentos em delineamento completamente casualizado, com 4 repetições, sendo o série de substituição com população de 64 plantas por vaso. Os tratamentos constaram de proporções de plantas de trigo e azevém. As proporções testadas foram: 100/0 (estande puro de trigo), 75/25, 50/50, 25/75 e 100/0% (estande puro de azevém). A cultivar de trigo Fundacep Horizonte apresentou habilidade competitiva superior ao azevém; a competição intraespecífica foi mais prejudicial ao trigo, enquanto que, a interespecífica causou maior prejuízo para o azevém

    RESUMO Objetivou-se, com este trabalho, caracterizar a embebição e avaliar a qualidade fisiológica de sementes de Apuleia leiocarpa após o osmocondicionamento. O estudo da embebição foi realizado em sementes intactas e escarificadas, em água destilada durante 96 horas. No estudo do osmocondicionamento, as sementes escarificadas foram separadas em três sublotes (L1; L2; L3), o primeiro foi condicionado em água destilada (controle), o segundo e o terceiro foram osmocondicionados em PEG 6000, nos potenciais de -0,4 e -0,8 MPa, respectivamente, por 10 horas. Posteriormente, as sementes foram acondicionadas em sacos plásticos e mantidas sob temperatura controlada de 3 ± 1°C. A semeadura foi realizada após 0, 30, 60, 90 e 120 dias do osmocondicionamento. A qualidade das sementes foi avaliada pelos testes: germinação, índice de velocidade de germinação, frequência relativa de germinação, comprimento da parte aérea e radicular e massa seca das plântulas. A embebição das sementes escarificadas de Apuleia leiocarpa segue o modelo trifásico de absorção de água, com início após três horas e culmina com a protrusão da raiz primária após 72 horas. As sementes osmocondicionadas em -0,8 MPa de PEG mantiveram a qualidade fisiológica, enquanto as sementes osmocondicionadas em água e em -0,4 MPa de PEG reduziram linearmente a porcentagem e a velocidade de germinação, o comprimento e a biomassa seca das plântulas. ABSTRACT The aim of this work was to characterize the imbibition and to evaluate the physiological quality of Apuleia leiocarpa seeds after priming. It was done the immersion of intact and scarified seeds in distilled water for 96 hours. In the study of priming, the scarified seeds were separate on three lots (L1, L2, L3), the first has been conditioned in distilled water only (control), the second and the third were osmoconditioned in PEG 6000, at potentials of -0.4 and -0.8 MPa, respectively, for 10 hours. Then, the seeds were placed in plastic bags and kept under controlled temperature of 3°C ± 1. Sowing was performed after 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 days of priming. Seed quality was evaluated by: germination percentage, germination speed index, relative frequency of germination, root length, shoot length, and seedling dry weight. The seed imbibition of Apuleia leiocarpa follows the three-phase model of water absorption, starting after three hours and culminates with the primary root protrusion after 72 hours. The primed seeds in -0.8 MPa of PEG maintained the physiological quality of seeds, while seeds primed in water and -0.4 MPa of PEG linearly reduced the percentage and speed of germination, the length and the dry weight of seedlings.

    The rise in agricultural prices to alarming levels since 2007 characterized the agrinflation phenomenon. Because of the increase in food prices and the expectation of strong population growth in the coming years, the issue of land grabbing by foreigners in the world has been drawing the attention, especially in African and Latin American regions. In Brazil, the land grabbing by foreigners has increased since 2008. In 2010, this increase has led the General Attorney of the Union (AGU) to reinterpret the Brazilian legislation of land acquisition, in order to limit the access to Brazilian landed property by foreigners. The debate about land grabbing by foreigners is controversial. There is no doubt about the importance of monitoring the integration of foreigners in Brazilian economy, which can be done by registering and updating data from land acquisition data. Moreover, there should be caution in terms of investments from sovereign wealth funds from countries with strong interest in importing Brazilian primary products. However, it is important to mention that the state can regulate the market even with a legislation that is more flexible to foreign investments.

    Aloe plants have a great therapeutic potential, which is attributed to the several bioactive compounds found in their composition. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the profile of secondary metabolites and the morphophysiological characteristics of Aloe plants collected at different periods and submitted to different growing conditions. So, axillary buds were collected at two different periods and grown in vitro in MS culture medium containing naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) under controlled conditions for 30 days. Then, the morphophysiological characterization and the analysis of the profile of metabolites produced by the plants were performed (HS-SPME / GC-MS techniques). The results showed that the BAP concentrations did not influence the morphophysiological characteristics of the plants. Almost all plants showed a 100% rooting percentage (RP) when grown in vitro, both with and without BAP in the nutrient medium. Only the plants subjected to BAP concentration of 3 mg L-1 showed a lower RP. The rise in BAP concentrations also promotes a reduction in the total area of ​​volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in plants. Some compounds (hexanal; 2-hexenal; 1-hexanol; 1-nonanol; 2-decanone; beta-ionone) showed a significant reduction (> 0.10%) in their concentration as the concentration of BAP was incremented in the medium cultivation. Nevertheless, the in vitro cultivated plants showed a greater total area and concentration of VOCs than the in vivo cultivated plants. A babosa possui grande potencial terapêutico, o qual é atribuído aos diversos compostos bioativos presentes em sua composição. Logo, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o perfil dos metabólitos secundários e as características morfofisiológicas em plantas de babosa coletadas em épocas distintas e submetidas a diferentes condições de cultivo. Para isso, gemas axilares foram coletas em 2 épocas distintas e cultivadas in vitro em meio de cultura MS contendo ácido naftalenoacético (ANA) e 6-benzilaminopurina (BAP) sob condições controladas durante 30 dias. Em seguida, foi realizada a caracterização morfofisiológica e a análise do perfil de metabolitos produzidos pelas plantas (técnicas HS-SPME/GC-MS). Constatou-se por meio dos resultados que as concentrações de BAP não influenciaram nas características morfofisiológicas das plantas. Quase todas as plantas apresentaram 100% de porcentagem de enraizamento (PR) quando cultivadas in vitro, tanto na ausência quanto na presença de BAP no meio nutritivo. Apenas as plantas submetidas a concentração de BAP de 3 mg L-1 apresentaram PR inferior. O aumento das concentrações de BAP também promoveu a redução da área total dos compostos orgânicos voláteis (COV’s) das plantas. Alguns compostos (hexanal; 2-hexenal; 1-hexanol; 1-nonanol; 2-decanona; beta-ionona) apresentaram diminuição significativa (>0,10%) da sua concentração à medida em que houve aumento da concentração de BAP ao meio de cultivo. Contudo, as plantas cultivadas in vitro apresentaram maior área total e concentração dos COV’s do que as plantas cultivadas in vivo.

    As definições conceituais e operacionais sobre as ruralidades se transformam ao longo do tempo. Com elas, alteram-se também as propostas teórico-normativas e políticas para o desenvolvimento rural. Este artigo recorre à literatura internacional e nacional para introduzir brevemente as múltiplas noções do termo desenvolvimento, bem como sua utilização ideológica; posteriormente aborda os modelos de desenvolvimento rural, caracterizando os principais elementos que despontam nos discursos peritos sobre o tema. Ao tratar do debate contemporâneo sobre desenvolvimento rural, o artigo destaca como este foi associado à noção de sustentabilidade e como incorporou, em suas propostas, metodologias descentralizadas, participativas e territorializadas. Esse percurso das múltiplas noções que envolvem o desenvolvimento rural é analisado à luz dateoria sociológica contemporânea, com destaque às formulações de Anthony Giddens acerca dos sistemas peritos. Entende-se, assim, que atores estrategicamente posicionados regulam reflexivamente as condições globais de reprodução – manutenção ou mudança – dos sistemas sociais, fomentando relações desencaixadas espaço temporalmente.

    A presente pesquisa buscou avaliar o nível de conhecimento e o uso do método Plan, Do, Check, Action (PDCA) e de ferramentas da qualidade no agronegócio de Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), bem como a relação entre o uso dessas técnicas e o desempenho das empresas que as utilizam. Para isso, realizou-se uma pesquisa exploratória descritiva, usando uma amostra de empresas agroindustriais de Mato Grosso do Sul, aplicando-se um questionário semi-estruturado aos profissionais dirigentes das mesmas. Constatou-se que o número de agroindústrias que utilizam o método PDCA é pequeno, enquanto é moderado o número de empresas que usam alguma ferramenta da qualidade no gerenciamento de seus processos. Com relação ao impacto do uso dessas técnicas nos processos industriais, observou-se que houve melhorias em grande parte das agroindústrias que as utilizam. Constatou-se que o não conhecimento dessas técnicas é um dos fatores mais relevantes para a não utilização das mesmas. Foi possível identificar algumas características de empresas que utilizam mais efetivamente o método PDCA e ferramentas da qualidade, que são: maior número de funcionários; maior nível de instrução de suas equipes e maior nível de automação de processos.

    The knowledge of the technological properties of the wood is important for the management and rational use of forest species. The study of the physical properties of Calycophyllum spruceanum wood aims to provide subsidies for timber production in estuarine floodplain forests. Samples were collected at base and top of the stem from 15 trees with different diameters to determine the physical properties (basic density, anisotropic factor and axial, radial, tangential and volumetric shrinkage), according to NBR 7190/97. C. spruceanum wood showed overall average of 0.65 g.cm-3 for density, 5.1% for radial shrinkage, 7.3% for tangential shrinkage, 14.1% for volumetric shrinkage and 1.6 for anisotropic factor. By analysis of covariance there was a significant effect of position on the stem only for anisotropic factor and tangential shrinkage, where the highest values for these properties were obtained at the base of the stem of the trees. The inexistence of significant effect of diameter at breast height (DBH) trees on the physical properties studied associated with values of basic density and adequate, from the aspect of dimensional stability for the anisotropic factor show that the timber of the species presents possibilities to be used as solid wood, even from trees under the minimum logging diameters (50 cm), established by Brazilian law.

The current technological advances allow the use of extremely minor processing architectures in relation to personal computers, giving us the ability to build new agricultural equipment using sensors (GPS, ultrasound, multispectral visible, infrared, images); changing paradigms and promoting the work at smaller scales can reach the leaf level through intelligent autonomous robots acting in the desired place, at the appropriate time, and navigating the appropriate path. Thus, the present study aimed to develop an autonomous agricultural robot (Field Robot) called NAVIGO, whose function is to traverse farmland collecting soil samples. To that end, we developed a mobile platform with a robotic arm using embedded computing system based on the Android mobile phone (Smartphone) and IOIO for Android controller. The system as a whole is intended to navigation in the role of information gatherer (soil amples). Results showed stable performance of the prototype allowing its use as a handy tool in performing the sampling of soils for agricultural areas for small and medium businesses. No futuro será indispensável a robótica no ambiente agrícola, sendo grande oportunidade neste momento o desenvolvimento de novos trabalhos e pesquisas, com a geração de patentes, transformando os conhecimentos em produtos comerciais. Os avanços tecnológicos atuais permitem utilizar arquiteturas de processamento extremamente menores em relação aos computadores pessoais, que nos dão condições de construir novos equipamentos agrícolas utilizando sensores (GPS, ultrassom, multiespectral visível, infrared, imagens); modificando paradigmas e promovendo o trabalho em escalas menores podendo chegar ao nível foliar, através de robôs inteligentes autônomos atuando no lugar desejado, no momento apropriado, e navegando no trajeto adequado. Desta forma, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo o desenvolvimento de um robô agrícola autônomo (Field Robot), denominado NAVIGO, que tem por função percorrer talhões agricultáveis coletando amostras de solos. Para tanto, foi desenvolvido uma plataforma móvel com um braço robótico utilizando sistema computacional embarcado baseado no telefone móvel Android (Smartphone) e controlador IOIO para Android. O sistema como um todo tem por finalidade a navegação desempenhando a função de coletor de informações (amostras de solos). Os resultados obtidos demonstraram atuação estável do protótipo permitindo o seu uso como ferramenta útil na execução de coletas de amostras de solos para áreas agrícolas de pequeno e médio porte.

Studies on the spatial variability of soil attributes associated with soybean yield, provide recommendations for doses o with varied rates, according to the maps created by spatial models. The diagnostic study on influential points is a recommended procedure for studies on spatial variability. Detecting the influential points through local influence allows measuring the changes that these points have influence on and the construction of the thematic map. This paper aims to present studies on local influence in linear spatial models considering as dependent variable soybean yield and as covariates Carbon (C), Calcium (Ca), Potassium (K), Magnesium (Mg), Manganese (Mn) and Phosphorus (P). The study on local influence is held in the response variable and the covariates using additive disturbances. O estudo de diagnóstico de pontos influentes é um procedimento recomendado nos estudos da variabilidade espacial. Detectar os pontos influentes, por meio da influência local, possibilita medir as alterações que esses pontos influenciam nos resultados e na construção do mapa temático.     O milho é uma das plantas cultivadas mais importantes do Mundo; ela tem muitas pragas, a lagarta-do-cartucho (Spodoptera frugiperda L.) é um caso sério e tem sido a principal praga desta cultura no Brasil por vários anos. Por outro lado, muitos inimigos naturais ocorrem naturalmente e desempenham um papel de suma importância para a regulação da população de insetos-pragas. Neste estudo, nós comparamos a infestação da lagarta-do-cartucho e seus inimigos naturais em duas condições de cultivo. As condições (tratamentos) foram: (1) milho de sequeiro e (2) milho irrigado. Sete avaliações de campo foram aplicadas em 50 plantas por tratamento. Os resultados mostraram que as infestações de S. frugiperda são mais agressivas em milho de sequeiro do que em milho irrigado, esta situação sugere que na safrinha de milho há maior risco da praga. Forficulidae foi a família abundante dentre os predadores presentes, e a ocorrência dos inimigos naturais não foi afetada pela condição de cultivo.

    As plantas daninhas presentes no trigo competem por diversos fatores exercendo impacto negativo na produtividade da cultura. Nesse contexto, o objetivo do estudo foi analisar morfologicamente o trigo e o azevém, em resposta ao estresse causado pela competição. Conduziuse experimentos em delineamento completamente casualizado, com 4 repetições, sendo o série de substituição com população de 64 plantas por vaso. Os tratamentos constaram de proporções de plantas de trigo e azevém. As proporções testadas foram: 100/0 (estande puro de trigo), 75/25, 50/50, 25/75 e 100/0% (estande puro de azevém). A cultivar de trigo Fundacep Horizonte apresentou habilidade competitiva superior ao azevém; a competição intraespecífica foi mais prejudicial ao trigo, enquanto que, a interespecífica causou maior prejuízo para o azevém

    RESUMO Objetivou-se, com este trabalho, caracterizar a embebição e avaliar a qualidade fisiológica de sementes de Apuleia leiocarpa após o osmocondicionamento. O estudo da embebição foi realizado em sementes intactas e escarificadas, em água destilada durante 96 horas. No estudo do osmocondicionamento, as sementes escarificadas foram separadas em três sublotes (L1; L2; L3), o primeiro foi condicionado em água destilada (controle), o segundo e o terceiro foram osmocondicionados em PEG 6000, nos potenciais de -0,4 e -0,8 MPa, respectivamente, por 10 horas. Posteriormente, as sementes foram acondicionadas em sacos plásticos e mantidas sob temperatura controlada de 3 ± 1°C. A semeadura foi realizada após 0, 30, 60, 90 e 120 dias do osmocondicionamento. A qualidade das sementes foi avaliada pelos testes: germinação, índice de velocidade de germinação, frequência relativa de germinação, comprimento da parte aérea e radicular e massa seca das plântulas. A embebição das sementes escarificadas de Apuleia leiocarpa segue o modelo trifásico de absorção de água, com início após três horas e culmina com a protrusão da raiz primária após 72 horas. As sementes osmocondicionadas em -0,8 MPa de PEG mantiveram a qualidade fisiológica, enquanto as sementes osmocondicionadas em água e em -0,4 MPa de PEG reduziram linearmente a porcentagem e a velocidade de germinação, o comprimento e a biomassa seca das plântulas. ABSTRACT The aim of this work was to characterize the imbibition and to evaluate the physiological quality of Apuleia leiocarpa seeds after priming. It was done the immersion of intact and scarified seeds in distilled water for 96 hours. In the study of priming, the scarified seeds were separate on three lots (L1, L2, L3), the first has been conditioned in distilled water only (control), the second and the third were osmoconditioned in PEG 6000, at potentials of -0.4 and -0.8 MPa, respectively, for 10 hours. Then, the seeds were placed in plastic bags and kept under controlled temperature of 3°C ± 1. Sowing was performed after 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 days of priming. Seed quality was evaluated by: germination percentage, germination speed index, relative frequency of germination, root length, shoot length, and seedling dry weight. The seed imbibition of Apuleia leiocarpa follows the three-phase model of water absorption, starting after three hours and culminates with the primary root protrusion after 72 hours. The primed seeds in -0.8 MPa of PEG maintained the physiological quality of seeds, while seeds primed in water and -0.4 MPa of PEG linearly reduced the percentage and speed of germination, the length and the dry weight of seedlings.
