Using data from focus group interviews, this study aims to analyze the perceived opportunities and challenges encountered by groups of secondary school teachers regarding the assessment of multimodal texts. Previous research has shown that digital technologies introduce new kinds of texts in the classroom. The possibility of combining verbal text with image, sound, and movement has an impact on students’ text production. However, the changing role of writing on the screen has left teachers uncertain of how to assess these new forms of texts. Apart from attending to digital competence, assessing multimodal texts may involve following writing conventions and organizing text using different resources and components. Quality in multimodal texts may concern using multimodal components to communicate complex ideas effectively, which may or may not be noticed by teachers. The data is based on group interviews with 11 secondary school teachers at two different schools. The study conducted a thematic content analysis using the analytical concepts of transformation, recognition, design, and form and meaning. Findings show that teachers find it challenging to acknowledge certain qualities in students’ multimodal texts without support from the steering documents. On the other hand, they notice opportunities to follow students’ learning processes. In addition, they stress an increased opportunity and need for shared assessment across school subjects. The article concludes with a discussion of tensions regarding opportunities and challenges when assessing students’ multimodal texts in relation to the different subject syllabuses.

This paper explores how digital competence is conceptualized in recent revisions in the curriculum for Swedish compulsory school. Four themes are identified based on a thematic content analysis of the revisions in the subject descriptions: use of digital tools and media, programming, critical awareness and responsibility. The distribution of the thematic revisions differs among the subjects, but the most dominating theme, permeating all the subjects, concerns the tool-oriented use of digital tools and media. This strong dominance of operational perspective tends to narrow the conceptualization compared to international definitions and frameworks of digital competence.

Introduction: The healthcare system is facing increasing demands for rehabilitation in the future. Rapid developments in robot technology and artificial intelligence (AI) raise concerns about a potential replacement of physiotherapists. Main part: The author shares his experience with robot-assisted treadmill training for individuals with spinal cord injury and explores the significance of conceptions of the body within physiotherapy. Phenomenologically, the body has a subjective dimension that is crucial for experience and cognition. Robot-assisted gait training can be effective, but it may influence patients' sense of agency and sense of ownership. The body schema, which regulates movements, can be disrupted by injury, and robots have limited ability to adapt to individual needs. Furthermore, the importance of bodily interaction and participatory sense-making in treatment is emphasized. Uncritical use of robot technology may restrict interaction and communication. Conclusion: Robot-assisted treadmill training and technology is tempting. Robots may standardize treatment and improve quality. However, they lack the ability to capture the nuances of the human body. Technology cannot replace physiotherapists. Bodily contact and the unique skills of physiotherapists remain essential for providing good quality physiotherapy.

This report describes Mapping Lived Religion, an ongoing research and digitization project based at Linnaeus University and in collaboration with the University of Gothenburg. The project members are building an open access, online database of objects and texts connected to the cults of saints in medieval Sweden and Finland. The database is connected to a digital map and includes a register of medieval places. As part of its work, the project has enabled the digitization and digital publication of the Iconographic Index, housed by the Swedish National Heritage Board. Additionally, the photographs from The World of Medieval Images have been re-digitized as high-resolution images in collaboration with the Swedish National History Museums. By the end of the project, the database will be a major research and educational resource for those working on and teaching this period. As an open access portal published in both Swedish and English, it will offer data on the cults of saints to anyone with an interest in the field in Sweden, Finland, and internationally.

The Swedish National Library published together with the university libraries in Gothenburg, Lund, Stockholm, Umeå and Uppsala in January 2020 a Declaration of Intent where the goal to digitiz Swedish print from the 15th century until today was formulated. Based on this objective, the article discusses different digitization strategies in libraries. Mass digitization stands for the rapid digitization of large collections, while critical digitization values the creation of new metadata and careful processes of collecting which books that will be digitized. The article particularly highlights the need for representative corpora in future digitization of “the Swedish print”. If the goal is to provide digitized material that will strengthen democracy and help researchers to formulate new questions, it is central that the corpus of texts that undergo digitization are representative of what they are meant to reflect. Otherwise, researchers risk asking questions about historical change and social development to a collection of texts that cannot answer the question or give misleading answers. National bibliographic is a valuable starting point for this work. The article studies two successful digitization projects of rare books – EEBO in England and VD16 in Germany – which base their metadata on bibliographic projects from the 20th century. Similar approaches in Swedish would encourage digitization that combine mass digitization with critical digitization.

Denna rapport redovisar resultaten av ett samnordiskt projekt initierat och stött av kommittéer inom Nordiska Ministerrådet samt senare stött även med nationella bidrag. Projektets syfte harv arit att utveckla och prova nya beläggningstyper med bättre buller egenskaper än de som används idag utan att andra väsentliga egenskaper såsom friktion, hållfasthet m.m. blir oacceptabelt försämrade. Det innebär bl.a. att beläggningarna avses ge lägre vägtrafikbuller än när trafiken flyter på en konventionell tät asfaltbetongbeläggning. This report presents the results of a Nordic co-operation project initiated and supported bycommittees within the Nordic Council ofMinisters and later also supported by national sponsors. The aim has been to develop and test new types of road surface with better traffic noise characteristics than those used today without compromising other important characteristics suchas friction, durability etc. This means that the surfaces must result in lower traffic noise emissionthan on conventional dense asphalt concrete surfacings.

I artikkelen argumenterer jeg for at den norske digitaliseringspolitikken former mulighetene mødre med migrasjonserfaring har for å komme i jobb og forsørge familien i Norge. Inspirert av institusjonell etnografi har jeg utforsket det digitale «arbeidet» 16 mødre med migrasjonserfaring fra lavdigitaliserte land må gjøre i møte med offentlig forvaltning og næringsliv. Artikkelen belyser ulike former for digitalisert forsørgerarbeid mødrene gjør før de kan søke jobb, og når de skal søke jobb eller stønader. Funn fra dybdeintervjuer med mødrene viser at det kan være et gap mellom hvordan velferdstjenester og næringsliv er digitalisert organisert, og hva mødrene ønsker og behøver. Mens prinsippet om «digitalt førstevalg» i økende grad blir iverksatt i tjenestene, kan mødrene ytre ønske om mer personlig og individuelt tilpasset hjelp. Borgernes digitale ferdigheter og språkkunnskaper tas i stor grad for gitt i utformingen av velferdstjenestene.

Robotic surgery has been used in urology for more than two decades. It is a minimally invasive procedure with less morbidity, mortality and length of hospital stay compared to open surgery. The advantage of robotic surgery has led to a shift in the treatment of patients with urological cancers and some benign reconstructive procedures. However, we need RCT's in order to prove the benefit of robotic surgery compared to open procedures due to the treatment of patients but also to secure economic issues for the society, as argued in this review.

Aim: The aim of this study was to explore how employees and participants experienced digital courses at a healthy life center. Material and methods: Two focus group interviews with a total of nine employees and seven in-depth interviews with participants were conducted. Interviews were analyzed using systematic text condensation. Findings: The digital room was experienced as a “new and unknown terrain” for both employees and participants. In addition, the employees experienced legal restrictions in terms of privacy protection and confidentiality. Employees and participants experienced that they “lost a lot” with digital courses, including exchange of experience, questions, the social fellowship and body language. Furthermore, both groups experienced that the digital courses provided opportunities as it was efficient and flexible. Both groups were positive to more use of digital courses and expressed that it might be a useful supplement to ordinary courses. Conclusion: Employees and participants were positive to more use of digital courses and digital tools as a supplement to physical courses, but expressed skepticism to all-digital courses. Both groups described “loosing” a lot during digital courses, specially the social aspect and the exchange of experiences. Many opportunities were described with digitalization such as being effective and time saving. The employees experienced that the technology was a barrier for digitalization.
