    AbstractThe domestic sheep with over 1200 breeds descended from those early domesticated animals that are bred for a variety of resources such as meat, milk and wool. Akkaraman, a fat‐tailed indigenous sheep breed of Türkiye, is widespread throughout Central Anatolia, with the largest indigenous sheep population. Assessing the genetic diversity and genomic structure of animal breeds is among the key contributors to deciphering adaptation to environmental extremes and constructing efficient genetic improvement strategies. Therefore, this study aimed to characterize the genome of Akkaraman breed against various world‐renowned transboundary sheep and indigenous sheep with fat and thin tails. Genetic similarities and differences between those breeds have been displayed by estimating and comparing various genetic diversity indices, linkage disequilibrium (LD) estimates and fixation index (FST), runs of homozygosity (ROH) as well as PCA and neighbour‐joining tree analysis. Akkaraman sheep were observed to form a cluster alongside Moghani, Karakas, Tibetan and Cyprus Fat Tail sheep, which are primarily the sole representatives of fat‐tailed sheep in the study. This clustering was evident in both the PCA and neighbour‐joining tree analysis. The Akkaraman sheep was also observed to have the lowest genomic inbreeding and one of the lowest numbers of ROHs, which might also indicate that the breed has not been exposed to historical intensive selection pressure, inbred mating or a massive population bottleneck that might leave strong marks of genomic homozygosity. The results improve our understanding of the genetic diversity in Akkaraman sheep in comparison with certain mainstream sheep breeds as well as those indigenous breeds from around the world. Additionally, findings will also provide valuable insights to perform further GWAS effectively by considering population structure, diversity and LD patterns observed among the breeds while providing practical knowledge that will contribute to designing efficient and successful genome‐based selection programmes for worldwide sheep production systems.

    Abstract Significant increase of biological stability, timber volume, and economic value of forests is impossible without refinement and improvement of the organization, and implementation of forest seed production on a genetic and breeding basis. It is possible to solve this task by creating and efficiently functioning in situ and ex situ facilities. In Ukraine, the basic principles of plus selection are envisaged, which include the selection and testing progeny of plus trees. The total number of progeny tests in Ukraine is 106 plots, in which 1,079 genotypes of plus trees are presented. Taking into account the total number of plus trees in Ukraine (4,560), only 23.7% was subjected to progeny tests. The largest number of progeny tests are represented by Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) – 76 plots and a significantly smaller number of plots for English oak (Quercus robur L.) – 21. The corresponding representation of genotypes is for pine – 520, for oak – 365. The area of tree breeding units in Ukraine is very small (0.4–0.6%) of the total forest area in the region. Despite the available areas, the use of in situ and ex situ objects for harvesting seed in Ukraine is low, around 30%. In the central region of Ukraine, the share of in situ and ex situ objects from the total forest area is 0.1–0.5%. On these sites, from 0 to 54% is harvested, which is insufficient. According to the results of the conducted research, it was established that the areas of permanent forest-seed base (in situ and ex situ units) are insignificant and their use is insufficient. Testing of more than 70% of the selected plus trees is required. An important trend is to study the genotype-environment interaction in connection with trends of global climate change.

    Breast tumours are the most common neoplasm in intact she-dogs. However, breast tumours in she-dogs differ significantly in morphological features and biological behaviour, so the definition of prognostic factors is relevant. A study on tumour cell dissemination in breast tumours in she-dogs by migration of these cells into blood and lymphatic vessels depending on their histological characteristics and disease stage was conducted. The study of the problem was performed on the basis of the clinic of modern veterinary medicine “Best” in Zaporizhzhia. She-dogs with breast neoplasms of different ages and breeds were used as objects in the proven absence of signs of metastatic lesions of other organs and tissues, including lungs, abdominal organs and bones. The presence of cancer cells in the vessels was determined by the tumour clots formed by them, fixed to the endothelium. The study revealed the presence of angioinvasion regardless of the clinical stage of the tumour process. In this case, the dissemination of tumour cells by migration into lymphatic vessels was observed only in the second clinical stage of breast tumours. In patients with stage 1 breast cancer in the vast majority of cases (66.7% of patients) angioinvasion is registered in the micropapillary invasive carcinomas (ICD-O code 8507/2). Tumour cells in blood vessels were verified in simple cribriform carcinoma (ICD-O code 8201/3) in more than 80% of she-dogs with stage 3 breast cancer. In contrast to the above groups, in patients with stage 2 cancer, migration of tumour cells into both blood and lymphatic vessels was found. Most often the signs of angio- and lymphoinvasion were found in invasive carcinoma mixed type (ICD-O code 8562/3), tubulopapillary carcinoma (ICD-O code 8503/3), and tubular carcinoma (ICD-O code 8211/3) ‒ in 34.1% and 36.8%, 19.3% and 26.3%, 17.0% and 10.5% of cases, respectively. The obtained results allow predicting the probability of penetration of tumour cells into blood and lymphatic vessels with a high degree of reliability, which in the future can better predict the biological behaviour of breast tumours

    One of the priority tasks of the agro-industrial complex in the modern world is to increase agricultural animal productivity and maximize the use of various processing byproducts in their feeding. Therefore, the experiment has been conducted to determine the influence of distillers dried grains with solubles as a part of feed mixtures on young quail meat productivity. To carry out the experiment, 5 groups, 100 quail heads in each, have been formed. Quails in the control group 1 did not receive distillers dried grains with solubles as a part of their feed mixture. Quails in the experimental groups 2, 3, 4 and 5 were fed by, respectively, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% of distillers dried grains with solubles in complex with feed mixture. The experiment lasted for 35 days. Due to the daily body weight (thereinafter - BW) gain in average for the entire farming period, quails in the experimental group 5 gave in to quails in the control group by 0.16 g or 2.5% (P < 0.01), while the experimental group 2 outweighed them by 0.09 g or 1.4%, group 3 - by 0.19 g or 3% (P < 0.01), group 4 - by 0.13 g or 2.1% (P < 0.01). The lowest feed consumption per 1 kg of quail weight gain was observed in the experimental group 3, that gave in to quails in the control group by 78 g or 2.4%. The experimental groups 2 and 4 had the same indicators, that gave in to quails in the control group by 31 g or 0.9%. And only the experimental group 5 consumed 61 g or 1.8% more feed per 1 kg of BW gain in comparison to the control group. Evaluation of slaughter characteristics in quails, by means of complete feed mixtures with different content of distillers dried grains with solubles, has shown that the experimental group quails achieved the highest indicators.

    A mathematical model for the determination of the temperature field and the analysis of temperature regimes in lithium-ion batteries have been developed. Using the theory of generalized functions, the thermophysical parameters of the structural components of a battery are represented by a single mathematical relation. A function in the form of the product of the generalized thermal conductivity coefficient for temperature was introduced, which avoided the differentiation of the product of two generalized functions as a result of constructing the initial differential equation of thermal conductivity, which was obtained with discontinuous coefficients. An analytical solution of this equation is determined, which is expressed by the temperature value at the conjugation surfaces of the layers of the structure. A relation was obtained to determine these values and expressions for constant integration. To determine the numerical values of the temperature in the design of the battery nodes, as well as to analyze the temperature gradients in its environment caused by the heterogeneity of the components due to heating, an algorithm and computational programs have been developed that allow to analyze lithium-ion batteries for their normal functioning. Using numerical programs, numerical values of the temperature were obtained for given values of the power of the internal heat sources, which made it possible to construct curves that reflect the behavior of the temperature field depending on the spatial coordinate. The angular points on the curve are revealed, which indicate the presence of a phase transition in the design of lithium-ion battery assemblies. As a consequence, it becomes possible to determine the permissible temperature values for the fire safety of these batteries.

    Authors: Oleg V. Zakharchenko;

    Intensification of agricultural production processes is accompanied by an increase not only in the productivity of agricultural crops and the productivity of animals, but also in the negative impact on the environment. Many agricultural producers do not adhere to scientifically grounded crop rotations, norms for introducing mineral fertilizers and doses of pesticides, rules for keeping and feeding animals, storing and recycling animal waste, etc., which leads to contamination of surface and groundwater, soil, air. To take into account the negative impact on the environment, it is advisable to use the form developed by us to assess the level of environmental risk and damage in agriculture.

    Abstract Ukraine has a large amount of land that can be used for the production of agricultural products, but there is a tendency to worsen the standard of living and reduce the level of social security in rural areas. The main directions of state regulation of agriculture in Ukraine, according to the authors, are the introduction and development of various measures aimed at reducing the disparity in prices for industrial and agricultural products, creating conditions for food security for basic types of food, implementing effective land reform, training labor resources for agricultural enterprises, transforming socio-cultural infrastructure in rural areas, creating effective market and transport infrastructure in rural areas, the use of price and customs regulators to effectively support domestic agricultural producers. Ensuring the stable development of the agricultural sector of the economy requires certain efforts focused on the development of the socio-economic sphere of rural areas. The development of rural areas requires conditions for the activation of activities in rural areas that are not related to the production of agricultural products (tourism, electricity production from renewable energy sources, folk crafts), increasing the level of efficiency in using the natural and labor potential of rural areas, improving the quality of medical services for the rural population and improving the functioning of the rural socio-cultural sphere.

    Authors: Maksym Kovalenko; Dmytro Bilyi;

    Authors: Anastasiia Plyska; Ildus Ibatullin; Mykhailo Sychov;

    Authors: Oleg V. Zakharchenko;
