    ABSTRACT: Rhododendron fortune belongs to a scented Rhododendron species native to China, which produces fragrant flowers of great ornamental and environmental values for landscaping or indoor beautification. However, the scents in Rhododendron fortuneihave not yet been investigated, let alone the mechanism of the formation of these fragrance in the flowers. In this study, we measured the scents in terms of its volatile components and contents (VOC) in Rhododendron fortuneiat four different flowering stages and in different tissues of the plant by headspace solid-phase micro-extraction combined (HS-SPME) with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Then the characteristic aromatic values, which reflects the degree of scent perception by human, of each VOC in the plant was calculated according to its respective aromatic thresholds. Results showed that three main VOCs measured from highest to lowest are methyl benzoates, terpenes and fatty acid derivatives. Their content increased after the flower bud opening and reached the highest at half to full blossom. In a flower most VOC contents were measured in petals and only trace amount in other tissues such as stamen, pistil. A small amount of VOCs was determined in leaves as well.All aromatic values were almost corresponded to the contents of three main VOCs, indicating that the flower fragrance arises truly from these VOC components. S-adenosyl-L-methionine: benzoic acid carboxyl methyl transferase (BAMT) catalyzes the final step to form methyl benzoates. To understand the mechanism of the formation of this main type fragrance and its regulation, we firstly isolate a gene of RfBAMT from petal of Rhododendron fortuneiby using homologous cloning and RACE technology. The full length of its cDNA was 1383 bp,with an open reading frame of 1104 bp, encoding a total of 368 amino acids. The phylogenetic tree analysis showed that RfBAMT was the closest to the BSMT of Camellia japonica, belonging to methyltransferases family. Then we measured the expression level of RfBAMT again at four flower developmental stages and in different flower tissues and leaves. The results showed that the expression level of this gene was highly positively correlated with the emitted content of methyl benzoates in the flowering, implying that RfBAMT plays a pivotal role in the formation and regulation of methyl benzoates in Rhododendron fortune.Thisresearchshowed that the RfBAMT was cloned and identified in our study and its expression level was highly positively correlated with the emitted content of methyl benzoates in the flowers and leaves, which indicated this gene may play an important role on regulation of methyl benzoate synthesis in Rhododendron fortunei. RESUMO: Rhododendron fortunei pertence a uma espécie de rododendro perfumada nativa da China, que produz flores perfumadas de grande valor ornamental e ambiental para paisagismo ou embelezamento de interiores. No entanto, os aromas em Rhododendron fortunei ainda não foram investigados, muito menos o mecanismo de formação dessas fragrâncias nas flores. Neste estudo, medimos os aromas em termos de seus componentes e conteúdos voláteis (VOC) em Rhododendron fortunei em quatro diferentes estágios de floração e em diferentes tecidos da planta por microextração em fase sólida headspace combinada com cromatografia gasosa-espectrometria de massa. Em seguida, foram calculados os valores aromáticos característicos, que refletem o grau de percepção olfativa pelo ser humano, de cada VOC na planta de acordo com seus respectivos limiares aromáticos. Os resultados mostraram que três COVs principais medidos do mais alto ao mais baixo são benzoatos de metila, terpenos e derivados de ácidos graxos. Seu conteúdo aumentou após a abertura do botão floral e atingiu o máximo na metade da floração total. Em uma flor, a maioria dos teores de COV foram medidos em pétalas e apenas traços em outros tecidos, como estame, pistilo. Uma pequena quantidade de COVs foi determinada nas folhas também. Todos os valores aromáticos foram quase correspondentes aos teores de três COVs principais, indicando que a fragrância da flor surge verdadeiramente desses componentes de COV. Para entender o mecanismo de formação deste tipo principal de fragrância e sua regulação, primeiramente isolamos um gene de RfBAMT da pétala de Rhododendron fortunei usando clonagem homóloga e tecnologia RACE. O comprimento total de seu cDNA era de 1383 bp, com um quadro de leitura aberto de 1104 bp, codificando um total de 368 aminoácidos. A análise da árvore filogenética mostrou que RfBAMT foi o mais próximo do BSMT de Camellia japonica, pertencente à família das metiltransferases. Em seguida, medimos o nível de expressão de RfBAMT novamente em quatro estágios de desenvolvimento da flor e em diferentes tecidos e folhas de flores. Os resultados mostraram que o nível de expressão deste gene foi altamente correlacionado positivamente com o conteúdo emitido de benzoatos de metila na floração, implicando que RfBAMT desempenha um papel fundamental na formação e regulação de benzoatos de metila em Rhododendron fortune foi clonado e identificado em nosso estudo e seu nível de expressão foi altamente correlacionado positivamente com o conteúdo emitido de benzoatos de metila nas flores e folhas, o que indicou que este gene pode desempenhar um papel importante na regulação da síntese de benzoato de metila em Rhododendron fortunei.

    ABSTRACT: Fertigation is widely used in seedling production for different crops, including passion fruit. There is no consensus on the ideal nutrient solution, and as such, nurseries have used fertigation empirically. This study assessed the electrical conductivity of nutrient solution containing macro and micronutrients in passion fruit seedling production and compared it with commercially used fertigation. A completely randomized design was used, with five treatments and six repetitions. Four electrical conductivities (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 dS m-1) of a complete nutrient solution and an additional treatment (commercial nutrient solution) were analyzed. Daily fertigation with a complete nutrient solution (macro and micronutrients) at electrical conductivities between 2.6 and 3.3 dS m-1 followed by two daily irrigations are efficient at producing FB 300 “Araguari” passion fruit seedlings in coconut fiber substrate, with benefits such as greater biomass and better Dickson quality index when compared to commercial nutrient solution. RESUMO: A fertirrigação é amplamente utilizada na produção de mudas de várias culturas, inclusive o maracujazeiro. Não existe consenso sobre qual solução nutritiva deve ser adotada na produção de mudas de maracujazeiro, mas por causa disso, viveiristas têm usado a fertirrigação empiricamente. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar condutividades elétricas de solução nutritiva com macros e micronutrientes na produção de mudas de maracujazeiro e compará-las com uma fertirrigação adotada comercialmente. Foi utilizado delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, com cinco tratamentos e seis repetições. Foram estudadas quatro condutividades elétricas (0,5; 1,0; 2,0 e 4,0 dS m-1) de solução nutritiva completa e um tratamento adicional (solução nutritiva adotada comercialmente). Em substrato à base de fibra de coco, fertirrigações diárias com solução nutritiva completa (macro e micronutrientes), com condutividades elétricas entre 2,6 a 3,3 dS m-1, seguidas de duas irrigações diárias são eficientes na produção de mudas de maracujazeiro FB 300 “Araguari”, inclusive com vantagens, como maior biomassa e índice de qualidade de Dickson em relação à solução nutritiva comercial.

    Resumo Este estudo avalia o impacto da assistência técnica e extensão rural prestadas pelo Projeto Dom Hélder Câmara (PDHC II) no semiárido brasileiro, que teve como objetivos a redução dos níveis de pobreza e das desigualdades na região, qualificando os agricultores familiares para desenvolverem uma produção sustentável e estimulando a replicação de boas práticas agropecuárias. Utilizando o método “propensity score matching” foram analisados 16 diferentes indicadores das famílias atendidas e do grupo de controle, envolvendo rendas monetárias e não monetárias. Os resultados apontam que o programa logrou êxito em beneficiar famílias pobres ou extremamente pobres dessa região, levando assistência técnica e extensão rural e, para uma fração deles, o acesso ao Programa Fomento Rural. Além disso, o PDHC II atingiu seus objetivos de propiciar um incremento na produção agrícola e nos rendimentos dos beneficiários, com um impacto ainda mais proeminente entre aqueles que receberam os recursos de fomento produtivo. Pode-se concluir que a assistência técnica e extensão rural foram eficazes, beneficiando agricultores familiares pobres do semiárido brasileiro, tendo maior impacto quando associada aos recursos de fomento produtivo. Abstract This study evaluates the impact of technical assistance and rural extension provided by the Dom Hélder Câmara Project (PDHC II) in the Brazilian semiarid region, which aimed to reduce the poverty levels and inequalities in the region, qualifying family farmers to develop sustainable production and encouraging the replication of good agricultural practices. Using the propensity score matching method, 16 different indicators of the assisted families and the control group were analyzed, involving monetary and nonmonetary incomes. The results indicate that the program was successful in benefiting poor or extremely poor families in this region, providing technical assistance and rural extension and, for a fraction of them, access to the Rural Funding Program. In addition, PDHC II achieved its objectives of providing an increase in agricultural production and in the income of the beneficiaries, with an even more prominent impact among those who received remittances from funding program. It can be concluded that technical assistance and rural extension were effective, benefiting poor family farmers in the Brazilian semiarid region and having a larger impact when associated with productive funding resources.

    Abstract Considering the cooperative sector capabilities in organizing rural people, primarily focusing on empowering manpower and adopting a sustainable approach to basic resources (water and soil), village-cooperative initiative has emerged as a new concept by registering and forming 4565 new cooperatives in Iran’s rural regions. The present research which was conducted in two qualitative and quantitative phases designed a new model by integrating the new village-cooperative approach along with the sustainable livelihood’s framework theory. The study sample of the qualitative phase included 32 theorists of the village-cooperative initiative. To analyze the data, the grounded theory and three-step process of open coding, axial coding and selective coding were used using MAXqda18 software. Finally, a paradigm model was designed whose most important components included causal conditions (shocks and seasonal conditions), contextual conditions (trends and governmental support), intervening conditions (control and market development), central categories (sustainable livelihoods with a village- cooperative approach), strategies (coping and adaptation) and consequences (creating jobs, establishing cooperatives, supporting smart agriculture and strengthening social capital). The statistical quantitative phase population consisted of cooperatives members in the village-cooperative initiative (N=405), being selected through Cochran's formula with proportional sampling method summing up to198 people from 5 provinces. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire whose validity and reliability were confirmed. The Bayesian structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. The results of the research quantitative phase showed that the variables of financial capital, physical capital, social capital, coping and adaptation strategies, human capital and natural capital were the most effective variables on village-cooperative initiative members’ sustainable livelihoods, respectively. Finally, a hybrid model based on the qualitative and quantitative studies was designed and suggestions were made; for instance, the creation of suitable grounds for off-farm activities such as rural industries and ecotourism. Resumo Considerando as capacidades do setor cooperativo na organização da população rural, focando principalmente na capacitação de mão de obra e na adoção de uma abordagem sustentável para os recursos básicos (água e solo), a iniciativa de cooperativa de aldeia surgiu como um novo conceito ao registrar e formar 4.565 novas cooperativas nas regiões rurais do Irã. A presente pesquisa, que foi conduzida em duas fases qualitativas e quantitativas, projetou um novo modelo integrando a nova abordagem cooperativa de aldeia junto com a teoria da estrutura de subsistência sustentável. A amostra do estudo da fase qualitativa incluiu 32 teóricos da iniciativa vila-cooperativa. Para analisar os dados, a teoria fundamentada e o processo de três etapas de codificação aberta, codificação axial e codificação seletiva foram usados o software MAXqda18. Finalmente, um modelo de paradigma foi desenhado, cujos componentes mais importantes incluíam condições causais (choques e condições sazonais), condições contextuais (tendências e apoio governamental), condições intervenientes (controle e desenvolvimento de mercado), categorias centrais (subsistência sustentável com uma abordagem cooperativa de aldeia), estratégias (enfrentamento e adaptação) e consequências (criação de empregos, estabelecimento de cooperativas, apoio à agricultura inteligente e fortalecimento do capital social). A população da fase quantitativa estatística consistiu de cooperados na iniciativa vila-cooperativa (N = 405), sendo selecionados através da fórmula de Cochran com método de amostragem proporcional totalizando 198 pessoas de cinco províncias. A ferramenta de coleta de dados foi um questionário elaborado pelo pesquisador cuja validade e confiabilidade foram confirmadas. A modelagem de equações estruturais bayesianas foi utilizada para analisar os dados. Os resultados da fase quantitativa da pesquisa mostraram que as variáveis de capital financeiro, capital físico, capital social, estratégias de enfrentamento e adaptação, capital humano e capital natural foram as variáveis mais eficazes na subsistência sustentável dos membros da iniciativa cooperativa de aldeia, respectivamente. Finalmente, um modelo híbrido baseado nos estudos qualitativos e quantitativos foi desenhado e sugestões foram feitas; por exemplo, a criação de terrenos adequados para atividades não agrícolas, como indústrias rurais e ecoturismo.

    ABSTRACT: The use of nitrogen (N) in pastoral ecosystems leads to increased productivity, as it allows the plant to elongate its leaves and, therefore, grazing herbivores harvest the green leaves. However, there are very volatile N sources, which can be replaced by ammonium nitrate, which is less volatile and less dependent on the application in rainy days. The treatments are compound of Marandu palisade grass pastures managed under continuous stocking at a canopy height of 25 cm, with different levels of N fertilizer: 0, 75, and 150 kg ha-1year-1, as ammonium nitrate (32% of N), with four replicates (pastures) in a completely randomized design. Nitrogen uptake (54.9, 96.5, 113.8 kg N ha-1) and N nutrition index (0.67, 0.98, 1.15) were different between N level, respectively, 0, 75 and 150 kg ha-1 year-1. The N recovery (58.3, 40.9 %) differed between 75 and 150 kg ha-1 year-1, respectively. The dose of 75 kg N kg ha-1 year-1 results in better N utilization, while the dose of 150 kg N ha-1 year-1 enables greater stocking rate; therefore, requiring less grazing area. RESUMO: O uso de nitrogênio (N) em ecossistemas pastoris leva ao aumento da produtividade, pois permite que a planta alongue suas folhas e, portanto, os herbívoros colham as folhas verdes. Porém, existem fontes de nitrogênio muito voláteis, que devem ser substituídas por nitrato de amônio, que é menos volátil e menos dependente da aplicação em dias chuvosos. Os tratamentos foram compostos por pastagens de capim-marandu, manejadas sob lotação contínua, na altura do dossel a 25 cm, com diferentes doses de N: 0, 75 e 150 kg ha-1 ano-1, na forma de nitrato de amônio (32% de N), com quatro repetições (piquetes), em delineamento inteiramente casualizado. A absorção de nitrogênio (54,9; 96,5; 113,8 kg N ha-1) e o índice nutricional de N (0,67; 0,98; 1,15) foram diferentes entre as doses de N, respectivamente, 0, 75 e 150 kg ha-1 ano-1. A recuperação de N (58,3; 40,9%) diferiu entre 75 e 150 kg ha-1 ano-1, respectivamente. A dose de 75 kg N kg ha-1 ano-1 resultou em melhor aproveitamento do N, enquanto a dose de 150 kg N ha-1 ano-1 possibilita maior taxa de lotação; portanto, exigindo menos área de pastagem.

    ABSTRACT: It is important to determine the number of plants to be evaluated to allow accurate inferences about the traits under evaluation. Investigating the linear relations among traits is important for identifying traits for indirect selection. So, the objectives of this study were to determine the sample size (number of plants) necessary to estimate the means of forage pea traits and to investigate the relations among the traits. Experiments were carried out in 2021 with three sowing dates (May 3, May 26 and July 13). Five hundred plants were randomly sampled, 100 plants in each of the five evaluation dates (June 25, August 30, July 24, September 17, September 16). In these 500 plants, the traits plant height, number of branches, number of nodes, number of leaves, number of pods, fresh matter of leaves, fresh matter of stems, fresh matter of pods, fresh matter of shoots, dry matter of leaves, dry matter of stems, dry matter of pods, and dry matter of shoots, were evaluated. The sample size was calculated to estimate the means of these traits, based on Student’s t-distribution, and the relations among traits were investigated through correlation and path analysis. In an experiment, to estimate the means of these 13 traits of forage pea, with an estimation error of approximately 10% of the mean, 99 plants per treatment should be sampled. The numbers of pods and leaves have a positive linear relations with fresh and dry matter of shoots. RESUMO: É importante dimensionar o número de plantas a serem avaliadas para possibilitar inferências precisas sobre os caracteres em avaliação. Investigar as relações lineares entre caracteres é importante para a identificação de caracteres para a seleção indireta. Assim, os objetivos deste trabalho foram determinar o tamanho de amostra (número de plantas) necessário para a estimação da média de caracteres de ervilha forrageira e investigar as relações entre os caracteres. Foram conduzidos experimentos, no ano de 2021, em três datas de semeadura (03 de maio, 26 de maio e 13 de julho). Foram amostradas, aleatoriamente, 500 plantas, sendo 100 plantas em cada uma das cinco datas de avaliação (25 de junho, 30 de agosto, 24 de julho, 17 de setembro e 16 de setembro). Nessas 500 plantas avaliaram-se os caracteres altura de planta, número de ramificações, número de nós, número de folhas, número de legumes, matéria fresca de folhas, matéria fresca de caule, matéria fresca de legumes, matéria fresca de parte aérea, matéria seca de folhas, matéria seca de caule, matéria seca de legumes e matéria seca de parte aérea. Foi calculado o tamanho de amostra para a estimação da média desses caracteres, com base na distribuição t de Student e investigada a relação entre os caracteres por meio de análises de correlação e de trilha. Em um experimento, para a estimação da média desses 13 caracteres de ervilha forrageira, com erro de estimação de aproximadamente 10% da média, devem ser amostradas 99 plantas por tratamento. Os números de legumes e de folhas têm relação linear positiva com as matérias fresca e seca de parte aérea.

    Abstract Purpose: The digital mindset can be defined as a set of individual behaviors related to the degree of adherence to digital transformations. After reviewing the literature on the subject, this research’s objective was to answer the following question: “Is it possible to measure the digital mindset of employees through a scale designed for the context of Brazilian organizations?”. Originality/value: The digitization of organizations has become the center of business transformation. However, one of the often-overlooked factors in the transition process is developed at the micro-organizational level. Collaborators vary in interest, knowledge, and ability to innovate. A measure to identify individual digital mindset profiles would be essential to guide the planning and development of a digital learning culture mindset. Still, such a tool was not yet found in the Brazilian literature. Design/methodology/approach: A multidimensional digital mindset construct was proposed based on the literature on cognitive structures and digital transformation mindset. Items were prepared to measure the degree of maturity of the construct, described through three digital profiles (open mind, transformer, and entrepreneur) and an analog profile. The scale was submitted to 574 professionals from Brazilian companies for exploratory factor analysis. Findings: The digital mindset scale showed signs of validity, confirming, in the present sample, the mindset dimensions related to the digital environment (Cronbach’s alphas between 0.85 and 0.62). Resumo Objetivo: O mindset digital pode ser definido como um conjunto de comportamentos individuais relacionados ao grau de aderência às transformações digitais. Nesse contexto, o objetivo da presente pesquisa foi, após revisão de literatura sobre o tema, responder à seguinte questão: “É possível mensurar o mindset digital de profissionais por meio de uma escala elaborada para o contexto das organizações brasileiras?”. Originalidade/valor: A digitalização das organizações passou a ser o centro da transformação dos negócios. No entanto, um dos fatores muitas vezes negligenciado no processo de transição é o desenvolvimento no nível micro-organizacional. Os profissionais variam no nível de interesse, no conhecimento e na capacidade de inovar. Para guiar o planejamento e desenvolvimento de uma cultura de aprendizagem digital, uma medida para identificar os perfis individuais de mindset digital seria essencial, mas tal ferramenta ainda não era encontrada na literatura brasileira. Design/metodologia/abordagem: A partir da literatura sobre estruturas cognitivas e a transformação digital, foi proposto um construto multidimensional de mindset digital. Elaboraram-se itens para a mensuração do grau de maturidade do construto, descrito por meio de três perfis digitais (open mind, transformador e empreendedor) e um analógico. A escala foi submetida a 574 profissionais de empresas brasileiras para análise fatorial exploratória. Resultados: A escala de mindset digital apresentou bons indícios de validade, sendo confirmadas, na presente amostra, as dimensões de mindset relacionadas ao meio digital (alfas de Cronbach entre 0,85 e 0,62).

    ABSTRACT: The peach palm (Bactrisgasipaes) is an important alternative for heart-of-palm extraction, showing precocity, rusticity and high tillering. The seeds of this species are considered recalcitrant making storage for long periods and production of seedlings difficulty. This identified a combination of moisture content of peach palm seeds and temperature during storage for longer seed longevity. Seeds with 35% and 45% of moisture content (wet basis - wb) were storage at 20 °C and 25 ºC during 180 days. The evaluations were carried out every 60 days by the germination test, emergence in sand, shoot length, diameter of stem, shoot dry matter, root dry matter and moisture content. It was observed that seeds with moisture content of 45% wb showed better performance during storage. The storage at 20 ºC provides higher seed quality maintenance. Peach palm seeds maintain their viability for 120 days when stored with moisture content of 45% wb at 20 ºC. RESUMO: A pupunha (Bactris gasipaes) é uma importante alternativa para a extração de palmito, apresentando precocidade, rusticidade e alto grau de perfilhamento. As sementes desta espécie são consideradas recalcitrantes, dificultando o armazenamento por longos períodos e a produção de mudas. Neste trabalho objetivou-se identificar uma combinação de teor de água das sementes de pupunha e temperatura durante o armazenamento para maior longevidade das sementes. Foram utilizadas sementes com teor de água de 35% e 45% (base úmida - bu), armazenadas a 20 °C e 25 ºC por 180 dias. As avaliações foram realizadas a cada 60 dias, por meio do teste de germinação, emergência em areia, comprimento da parte aérea, diâmetro de coleto, massa de matéria seca de parte aérea, massa de matéria seca de raiz das plantas e teor de água das sementes. Observou-se que as sementes com teor de água de 45% tiveram desempenho superior durante o armazenamento. A temperatura de 20 ºC proporciona maior manutenção da qualidade das sementes. Sementes de pupunha mantêm sua viabilidade durante 120 dias, quando armazenadas com teor de água de 45% a 20 ºC.

    ABSTRACT: Purple-fleshed sweet potato is a tuber rich in anthocyanins, which are phenolic pigments that confer color and present bioactive capacity. Moreover, its incorporation into dairy products can bring technological and functional benefits. Thus, this article evaluated the impact of the addition of lyophilized purple-fleshed sweet potato powder- LP (0% - Control, 2%, and 4%) on the physical, chemical, and technological characteristics of Greek yogurt. LP showed in vitro antioxidant and bioactive capacity by DPPH (20.64 ± 1.61 μmol TE g-1), FRAP (112.93 ± 4.38 μmol TE g-1), total phenolic content (103.66 ± 3.35 mg GAE g-1), and total anthocyanin content (51.10 ± 1.87 mg cyanidin 3-glucoside 100 g-1). Additionally, the assays demonstrated that the LP has 16.82 ± 0.63% of resistant starch. The fortification of Greek yogurt with LP reduced the syneresis, indicating that LP increased the water retention capacity. LP also inhibited the post-acidification process, increasing apparent viscosity, hardness, and gumminess, and promoting a stable pink coloration throughout the storage (P < 0.05). At the 4% level, the yogurt was firmer and showed greater chewiness, which is highly desirable for Greek yogurt. Therefore, the results suggested that lyophilized purple-fleshed sweet potato powder is a potential multifunctional natural ingredient. RESUMO: Batata-doce de polpa roxa é um tubérculo rico em antocianinas, as quais são pigmentos fenólicos que conferem cor e apresentam capacidade bioativa. Além disso, sua incorporação em produtos lácteos pode trazer benefícios tecnológicos e funcionais. Desta forma, este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o impacto da adição de pó liofilizado de batata-doce de polpa roxa - LP (0% - Controle, 2% e 4%) nas características físicas, químicas e tecnológicas de iogurte tipo Grego. LP apresentou capacidade antioxidante e bioativa in vitro para DPPH (20.64 ± 1.61 μmol TE g-1), FRAP (112.93 ± 4.38 μmol TE g-1), teor de compostos fenólicos totais (103.66 ± 3.35 mg GAE g-1) e teor de antocianinas totais (51.10 ± 1.87 mg cyanidin 3-glucoside 100 g-1). Adicionalmente, os ensaios demonstraram que o LP possui 16,82 ± 0,63% de amido resistente. A fortificação do iogurte Grego com LP reduziu a sinérese, indicando que LP aumentou a capacidade de retenção de água, LP também inibiu o processo pós-acidificação, aumentando a viscosidade aparente, a dureza e a gomosidade, e promovendo uma coloração rosa estável durante todo o armazenamento (P < 0,05). No nível de 4%, o iogurte apresentou-se mais firme e com maior mastigabilidade, o que é altamente desejável para o iogurte tipo Grego. Assim, os resultados sugerem que o pó liofilizado de batata-doce de polpa roxa é um potencial ingrediente natural multifuncional.

    Resumo Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo mensurar o efeito das ações de assistência técnica e extensão rural (ATER) nos meios de vida e na qualidade de vida de agricultores familiares atendidos pela Emater no estado de Goiás, Brasil. A amostra é formada por 120 agricultores atendidos pela Emater no período de 2018 a 2022. Os dados foram coletados por meio de questionário estruturado e analisados por modelagem de equações estruturais PLS-SEM. As ações de ATER têm efeito direto positivo nos meios de vida e na qualidade de vida. Além disso, os meios de vida mediam parcialmente a relação entre ATER e qualidade de vida. Em relação aos efeitos indiretos específicos, a renda foi a dimensão da qualidade de vida mais afetada tanto pela ATER quanto pelos meios de vida, enquanto o capital financeiro foi a dimensão dos meios de vida mais influenciada pela ATER. Esses resultados destacam a contribuição significativa da ATER para aspectos econômicos e financeiros da vida dos agricultores familiares, ao mesmo tempo em que confirmam a importância da educação e da habitação (dimensões da qualidade de vida) e do capital natural, humano e social (dimensões dos meios de vida) para o desenvolvimento global da vida desses agricultores. Os resultados contribuem para a literatura de ATER, meios de subsistência e qualidade de vida, e a validação do instrumento de mensuração da ATER fornece subsídios valiosos para futuros estudos e importantes direcionamentos para a Emater rever e fortalecer suas políticas de ATER. Abstract This research aimed to measure the impact of technical assistance and rural extension (ATER) actions on livelihoods and quality of life of family farmers assisted by Emater in the state of Goiás, Brazil. The sample is of 120 farmers assisted by Emater from the 2018 to 2022, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-SEM. ATER actions has a positive direct effect on both livelihoods and quality of life. Moreover, livelihoods partially mediate the relationship between ATER and quality of life. Regarding specific indirect effects, income was the dimension of quality of life most affected by both ATER and livelihoods, while financial capital was the dimension of livelihoods most influenced by ATER. These findings highlight the significant contribution of ATER to the economic and financial aspects of family farmers, while acknowledging the importance of education and housing (dimensions of quality of life) and natural, human, and social capital (dimensions of livelihoods) for their overall development. The results contribute to the literature on ATER, livelihoods and quality of life, and the validation of the ATER measurement instrument provide valuable subsidies for future studies and important directions for Emater in order to review and strengthen the ATER policies.

    ABSTRACT: Rhododendron fortune belongs to a scented Rhododendron species native to China, which produces fragrant flowers of great ornamental and environmental values for landscaping or indoor beautification. However, the scents in Rhododendron fortuneihave not yet been investigated, let alone the mechanism of the formation of these fragrance in the flowers. In this study, we measured the scents in terms of its volatile components and contents (VOC) in Rhododendron fortuneiat four different flowering stages and in different tissues of the plant by headspace solid-phase micro-extraction combined (HS-SPME) with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Then the characteristic aromatic values, which reflects the degree of scent perception by human, of each VOC in the plant was calculated according to its respective aromatic thresholds. Results showed that three main VOCs measured from highest to lowest are methyl benzoates, terpenes and fatty acid derivatives. Their content increased after the flower bud opening and reached the highest at half to full blossom. In a flower most VOC contents were measured in petals and only trace amount in other tissues such as stamen, pistil. A small amount of VOCs was determined in leaves as well.All aromatic values were almost corresponded to the contents of three main VOCs, indicating that the flower fragrance arises truly from these VOC components. S-adenosyl-L-methionine: benzoic acid carboxyl methyl transferase (BAMT) catalyzes the final step to form methyl benzoates. To understand the mechanism of the formation of this main type fragrance and its regulation, we firstly isolate a gene of RfBAMT from petal of Rhododendron fortuneiby using homologous cloning and RACE technology. The full length of its cDNA was 1383 bp,with an open reading frame of 1104 bp, encoding a total of 368 amino acids. The phylogenetic tree analysis showed that RfBAMT was the closest to the BSMT of Camellia japonica, belonging to methyltransferases family. Then we measured the expression level of RfBAMT again at four flower developmental stages and in different flower tissues and leaves. The results showed that the expression level of this gene was highly positively correlated with the emitted content of methyl benzoates in the flowering, implying that RfBAMT plays a pivotal role in the formation and regulation of methyl benzoates in Rhododendron fortune.Thisresearchshowed that the RfBAMT was cloned and identified in our study and its expression level was highly positively correlated with the emitted content of methyl benzoates in the flowers and leaves, which indicated this gene may play an important role on regulation of methyl benzoate synthesis in Rhododendron fortunei. RESUMO: Rhododendron fortunei pertence a uma espécie de rododendro perfumada nativa da China, que produz flores perfumadas de grande valor ornamental e ambiental para paisagismo ou embelezamento de interiores. No entanto, os aromas em Rhododendron fortunei ainda não foram investigados, muito menos o mecanismo de formação dessas fragrâncias nas flores. Neste estudo, medimos os aromas em termos de seus componentes e conteúdos voláteis (VOC) em Rhododendron fortunei em quatro diferentes estágios de floração e em diferentes tecidos da planta por microextração em fase sólida headspace combinada com cromatografia gasosa-espectrometria de massa. Em seguida, foram calculados os valores aromáticos característicos, que refletem o grau de percepção olfativa pelo ser humano, de cada VOC na planta de acordo com seus respectivos limiares aromáticos. Os resultados mostraram que três COVs principais medidos do mais alto ao mais baixo são benzoatos de metila, terpenos e derivados de ácidos graxos. Seu conteúdo aumentou após a abertura do botão floral e atingiu o máximo na metade da floração total. Em uma flor, a maioria dos teores de COV foram medidos em pétalas e apenas traços em outros tecidos, como estame, pistilo. Uma pequena quantidade de COVs foi determinada nas folhas também. Todos os valores aromáticos foram quase correspondentes aos teores de três COVs principais, indicando que a fragrância da flor surge verdadeiramente desses componentes de COV. Para entender o mecanismo de formação deste tipo principal de fragrância e sua regulação, primeiramente isolamos um gene de RfBAMT da pétala de Rhododendron fortunei usando clonagem homóloga e tecnologia RACE. O comprimento total de seu cDNA era de 1383 bp, com um quadro de leitura aberto de 1104 bp, codificando um total de 368 aminoácidos. A análise da árvore filogenética mostrou que RfBAMT foi o mais próximo do BSMT de Camellia japonica, pertencente à família das metiltransferases. Em seguida, medimos o nível de expressão de RfBAMT novamente em quatro estágios de desenvolvimento da flor e em diferentes tecidos e folhas de flores. Os resultados mostraram que o nível de expressão deste gene foi altamente correlacionado positivamente com o conteúdo emitido de benzoatos de metila na floração, implicando que RfBAMT desempenha um papel fundamental na formação e regulação de benzoatos de metila em Rhododendron fortune foi clonado e identificado em nosso estudo e seu nível de expressão foi altamente correlacionado positivamente com o conteúdo emitido de benzoatos de metila nas flores e folhas, o que indicou que este gene pode desempenhar um papel importante na regulação da síntese de benzoato de metila em Rhododendron fortunei.

    ABSTRACT: Fertigation is widely used in seedling production for different crops, including passion fruit. There is no consensus on the ideal nutrient solution, and as such, nurseries have used fertigation empirically. This study assessed the electrical conductivity of nutrient solution containing macro and micronutrients in passion fruit seedling production and compared it with commercially used fertigation. A completely randomized design was used, with five treatments and six repetitions. Four electrical conductivities (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 dS m-1) of a complete nutrient solution and an additional treatment (commercial nutrient solution) were analyzed. Daily fertigation with a complete nutrient solution (macro and micronutrients) at electrical conductivities between 2.6 and 3.3 dS m-1 followed by two daily irrigations are efficient at producing FB 300 “Araguari” passion fruit seedlings in coconut fiber substrate, with benefits such as greater biomass and better Dickson quality index when compared to commercial nutrient solution. RESUMO: A fertirrigação é amplamente utilizada na produção de mudas de várias culturas, inclusive o maracujazeiro. Não existe consenso sobre qual solução nutritiva deve ser adotada na produção de mudas de maracujazeiro, mas por causa disso, viveiristas têm usado a fertirrigação empiricamente. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar condutividades elétricas de solução nutritiva com macros e micronutrientes na produção de mudas de maracujazeiro e compará-las com uma fertirrigação adotada comercialmente. Foi utilizado delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, com cinco tratamentos e seis repetições. Foram estudadas quatro condutividades elétricas (0,5; 1,0; 2,0 e 4,0 dS m-1) de solução nutritiva completa e um tratamento adicional (solução nutritiva adotada comercialmente). Em substrato à base de fibra de coco, fertirrigações diárias com solução nutritiva completa (macro e micronutrientes), com condutividades elétricas entre 2,6 a 3,3 dS m-1, seguidas de duas irrigações diárias são eficientes na produção de mudas de maracujazeiro FB 300 “Araguari”, inclusive com vantagens, como maior biomassa e índice de qualidade de Dickson em relação à solução nutritiva comercial.

    Resumo Este estudo avalia o impacto da assistência técnica e extensão rural prestadas pelo Projeto Dom Hélder Câmara (PDHC II) no semiárido brasileiro, que teve como objetivos a redução dos níveis de pobreza e das desigualdades na região, qualificando os agricultores familiares para desenvolverem uma produção sustentável e estimulando a replicação de boas práticas agropecuárias. Utilizando o método “propensity score matching” foram analisados 16 diferentes indicadores das famílias atendidas e do grupo de controle, envolvendo rendas monetárias e não monetárias. Os resultados apontam que o programa logrou êxito em beneficiar famílias pobres ou extremamente pobres dessa região, levando assistência técnica e extensão rural e, para uma fração deles, o acesso ao Programa Fomento Rural. Além disso, o PDHC II atingiu seus objetivos de propiciar um incremento na produção agrícola e nos rendimentos dos beneficiários, com um impacto ainda mais proeminente entre aqueles que receberam os recursos de fomento produtivo. Pode-se concluir que a assistência técnica e extensão rural foram eficazes, beneficiando agricultores familiares pobres do semiárido brasileiro, tendo maior impacto quando associada aos recursos de fomento produtivo. Abstract This study evaluates the impact of technical assistance and rural extension provided by the Dom Hélder Câmara Project (PDHC II) in the Brazilian semiarid region, which aimed to reduce the poverty levels and inequalities in the region, qualifying family farmers to develop sustainable production and encouraging the replication of good agricultural practices. Using the propensity score matching method, 16 different indicators of the assisted families and the control group were analyzed, involving monetary and nonmonetary incomes. The results indicate that the program was successful in benefiting poor or extremely poor families in this region, providing technical assistance and rural extension and, for a fraction of them, access to the Rural Funding Program. In addition, PDHC II achieved its objectives of providing an increase in agricultural production and in the income of the beneficiaries, with an even more prominent impact among those who received remittances from funding program. It can be concluded that technical assistance and rural extension were effective, benefiting poor family farmers in the Brazilian semiarid region and having a larger impact when associated with productive funding resources.

    Abstract Considering the cooperative sector capabilities in organizing rural people, primarily focusing on empowering manpower and adopting a sustainable approach to basic resources (water and soil), village-cooperative initiative has emerged as a new concept by registering and forming 4565 new cooperatives in Iran’s rural regions. The present research which was conducted in two qualitative and quantitative phases designed a new model by integrating the new village-cooperative approach along with the sustainable livelihood’s framework theory. The study sample of the qualitative phase included 32 theorists of the village-cooperative initiative. To analyze the data, the grounded theory and three-step process of open coding, axial coding and selective coding were used using MAXqda18 software. Finally, a paradigm model was designed whose most important components included causal conditions (shocks and seasonal conditions), contextual conditions (trends and governmental support), intervening conditions (control and market development), central categories (sustainable livelihoods with a village- cooperative approach), strategies (coping and adaptation) and consequences (creating jobs, establishing cooperatives, supporting smart agriculture and strengthening social capital). The statistical quantitative phase population consisted of cooperatives members in the village-cooperative initiative (N=405), being selected through Cochran's formula with proportional sampling method summing up to198 people from 5 provinces. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire whose validity and reliability were confirmed. The Bayesian structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. The results of the research quantitative phase showed that the variables of financial capital, physical capital, social capital, coping and adaptation strategies, human capital and natural capital were the most effective variables on village-cooperative initiative members’ sustainable livelihoods, respectively. Finally, a hybrid model based on the qualitative and quantitative studies was designed and suggestions were made; for instance, the creation of suitable grounds for off-farm activities such as rural industries and ecotourism. Resumo Considerando as capacidades do setor cooperativo na organização da população rural, focando principalmente na capacitação de mão de obra e na adoção de uma abordagem sustentável para os recursos básicos (água e solo), a iniciativa de cooperativa de aldeia surgiu como um novo conceito ao registrar e formar 4.565 novas cooperativas nas regiões rurais do Irã. A presente pesquisa, que foi conduzida em duas fases qualitativas e quantitativas, projetou um novo modelo integrando a nova abordagem cooperativa de aldeia junto com a teoria da estrutura de subsistência sustentável. Para analisar os dados, a teoria fundamentada e o processo de três etapas de codificação aberta, codificação axial e codificação seletiva foram usados o software MAXqda18. Finalmente, um modelo de paradigma foi desenhado, cujos componentes mais importantes incluíam condições causais (choques e condições sazonais), condições contextuais (tendências e apoio governamental), condições intervenientes (controle e desenvolvimento de mercado), categorias centrais (subsistência sustentável com uma abordagem cooperativa de aldeia), estratégias (enfrentamento e adaptação) e consequências (criação de empregos, estabelecimento de cooperativas, apoio à agricultura inteligente e fortalecimento do capital social). A população da fase quantitativa estatística consistiu de cooperados na iniciativa vila-cooperativa (N = 405), sendo selecionados através da fórmula de Cochran com método de amostragem proporcional totalizando 198 pessoas de cinco províncias. A ferramenta de coleta de dados foi um questionário elaborado pelo pesquisador cuja validade e confiabilidade foram confirmadas. A modelagem de equações estruturais bayesianas foi utilizada para analisar os dados. Os resultados da fase quantitativa da pesquisa mostraram que as variáveis de capital financeiro, capital físico, capital social, estratégias de enfrentamento e adaptação, capital humano e capital natural foram as variáveis mais eficazes na subsistência sustentável dos membros da iniciativa cooperativa de aldeia, respectivamente. Finalmente, um modelo híbrido baseado nos estudos qualitativos e quantitativos foi desenhado e sugestões foram feitas; por exemplo, a criação de terrenos adequados para atividades não agrícolas, como indústrias rurais e ecoturismo.

    ABSTRACT: The use of nitrogen (N) in pastoral ecosystems leads to increased productivity, as it allows the plant to elongate its leaves and, therefore, grazing herbivores harvest the green leaves. However, there are very volatile N sources, which can be replaced by ammonium nitrate, which is less volatile and less dependent on the application in rainy days. The treatments are compound of Marandu palisade grass pastures managed under continuous stocking at a canopy height of 25 cm, with different levels of N fertilizer: 0, 75, and 150 kg ha-1year-1, as ammonium nitrate (32% of N), with four replicates (pastures) in a completely randomized design. Nitrogen uptake (54.9, 96.5, 113.8 kg N ha-1) and N nutrition index (0.67, 0.98, 1.15) were different between N level, respectively, 0, 75 and 150 kg ha-1 year-1. The N recovery (58.3, 40.9 %) differed between 75 and 150 kg ha-1 year-1, respectively. The dose of 75 kg N kg ha-1 year-1 results in better N utilization, while the dose of 150 kg N ha-1 year-1 enables greater stocking rate; therefore, requiring less grazing area. RESUMO: O uso de nitrogênio (N) em ecossistemas pastoris leva ao aumento da produtividade, pois permite que a planta alongue suas folhas e, portanto, os herbívoros colham as folhas verdes. Porém, existem fontes de nitrogênio muito voláteis, que devem ser substituídas por nitrato de amônio, que é menos volátil e menos dependente da aplicação em dias chuvosos. Os tratamentos foram compostos por pastagens de capim-marandu, manejadas sob lotação contínua, na altura do dossel a 25 cm, com diferentes doses de N: 0, 75 e 150 kg ha-1 ano-1, na forma de nitrato de amônio (32% de N), com quatro repetições (piquetes), em delineamento inteiramente casualizado. A absorção de nitrogênio (54,9; 96,5; 113,8 kg N ha-1) e o índice nutricional de N (0,67; 0,98; 1,15) foram diferentes entre as doses de N, respectivamente, 0, 75 e 150 kg ha-1 ano-1. A recuperação de N (58,3; 40,9%) diferiu entre 75 e 150 kg ha-1 ano-1, respectivamente. A dose de 75 kg N kg ha-1 ano-1 resultou em melhor aproveitamento do N, enquanto a dose de 150 kg N ha-1 ano-1 possibilita maior taxa de lotação; portanto, exigindo menos área de pastagem.

    ABSTRACT: It is important to determine the number of plants to be evaluated to allow accurate inferences about the traits under evaluation. Investigating the linear relations among traits is important for identifying traits for indirect selection. So, the objectives of this study were to determine the sample size (number of plants) necessary to estimate the means of forage pea traits and to investigate the relations among the traits. Experiments were carried out in 2021 with three sowing dates (May 3, May 26 and July 13). Five hundred plants were randomly sampled, 100 plants in each of the five evaluation dates (June 25, August 30, July 24, September 17, September 16). In these 500 plants, the traits plant height, number of branches, number of nodes, number of leaves, number of pods, fresh matter of leaves, fresh matter of stems, fresh matter of pods, fresh matter of shoots, dry matter of leaves, dry matter of stems, dry matter of pods, and dry matter of shoots, were evaluated. The sample size was calculated to estimate the means of these traits, based on Student’s t-distribution, and the relations among traits were investigated through correlation and path analysis. In an experiment, to estimate the means of these 13 traits of forage pea, with an estimation error of approximately 10% of the mean, 99 plants per treatment should be sampled. The numbers of pods and leaves have a positive linear relations with fresh and dry matter of shoots. RESUMO: É importante dimensionar o número de plantas a serem avaliadas para possibilitar inferências precisas sobre os caracteres em avaliação. Investigar as relações lineares entre caracteres é importante para a identificação de caracteres para a seleção indireta. Assim, os objetivos deste trabalho foram determinar o tamanho de amostra (número de plantas) necessário para a estimação da média de caracteres de ervilha forrageira e investigar as relações entre os caracteres. Foram conduzidos experimentos, no ano de 2021, em três datas de semeadura (03 de maio, 26 de maio e 13 de julho). Foram amostradas, aleatoriamente, 500 plantas, sendo 100 plantas em cada uma das cinco datas de avaliação (25 de junho, 30 de agosto, 24 de julho, 17 de setembro e 16 de setembro). Nessas 500 plantas avaliaram-se os caracteres altura de planta, número de ramificações, número de nós, número de folhas, número de legumes, matéria fresca de folhas, matéria fresca de caule, matéria fresca de legumes, matéria fresca de parte aérea, matéria seca de folhas, matéria seca de caule, matéria seca de legumes e matéria seca de parte aérea. Foi calculado o tamanho de amostra para a estimação da média desses caracteres, com base na distribuição t de Student e investigada a relação entre os caracteres por meio de análises de correlação e de trilha. Em um experimento, para a estimação da média desses 13 caracteres de ervilha forrageira, com erro de estimação de aproximadamente 10% da média, devem ser amostradas 99 plantas por tratamento. Os números de legumes e de folhas têm relação linear positiva com as matérias fresca e seca de parte aérea.

    Abstract Purpose: The digital mindset can be defined as a set of individual behaviors related to the degree of adherence to digital transformations. After reviewing the literature on the subject, this research’s objective was to answer the following question: “Is it possible to measure the digital mindset of employees through a scale designed for the context of Brazilian organizations?”. Originality/value: The digitization of organizations has become the center of business transformation. However, one of the often-overlooked factors in the transition process is developed at the micro-organizational level. Collaborators vary in interest, knowledge, and ability to innovate. A measure to identify individual digital mindset profiles would be essential to guide the planning and development of a digital learning culture mindset. Still, such a tool was not yet found in the Brazilian literature. Design/methodology/approach: A multidimensional digital mindset construct was proposed based on the literature on cognitive structures and digital transformation mindset. Items were prepared to measure the degree of maturity of the construct, described through three digital profiles (open mind, transformer, and entrepreneur) and an analog profile. The scale was submitted to 574 professionals from Brazilian companies for exploratory factor analysis. Findings: The digital mindset scale showed signs of validity, confirming, in the present sample, the mindset dimensions related to the digital environment (Cronbach’s alphas between 0.85 and 0.62). Resumo Objetivo: O mindset digital pode ser definido como um conjunto de comportamentos individuais relacionados ao grau de aderência às transformações digitais. Nesse contexto, o objetivo da presente pesquisa foi, após revisão de literatura sobre o tema, responder à seguinte questão: “É possível mensurar o mindset digital de profissionais por meio de uma escala elaborada para o contexto das organizações brasileiras?”. Originalidade/valor: A digitalização das organizações passou a ser o centro da transformação dos negócios. No entanto, um dos fatores muitas vezes negligenciado no processo de transição é o desenvolvimento no nível micro-organizacional. Os profissionais variam no nível de interesse, no conhecimento e na capacidade de inovar. Para guiar o planejamento e desenvolvimento de uma cultura de aprendizagem digital, uma medida para identificar os perfis individuais de mindset digital seria essencial, mas tal ferramenta ainda não era encontrada na literatura brasileira. Design/metodologia/abordagem: A partir da literatura sobre estruturas cognitivas e a transformação digital, foi proposto um construto multidimensional de mindset digital. Elaboraram-se itens para a mensuração do grau de maturidade do construto, descrito por meio de três perfis digitais (open mind, transformador e empreendedor) e um analógico. A escala foi submetida a 574 profissionais de empresas brasileiras para análise fatorial exploratória. Resultados: A escala de mindset digital apresentou bons indícios de validade, sendo confirmadas, na presente amostra, as dimensões de mindset relacionadas ao meio digital (alfas de Cronbach entre 0,85 e 0,62).

    ABSTRACT: The peach palm (Bactrisgasipaes) is an important alternative for heart-of-palm extraction, showing precocity, rusticity and high tillering. The seeds of this species are considered recalcitrant making storage for long periods and production of seedlings difficulty. This identified a combination of moisture content of peach palm seeds and temperature during storage for longer seed longevity. Seeds with 35% and 45% of moisture content (wet basis - wb) were storage at 20 °C and 25 ºC during 180 days. The evaluations were carried out every 60 days by the germination test, emergence in sand, shoot length, diameter of stem, shoot dry matter, root dry matter and moisture content. It was observed that seeds with moisture content of 45% wb showed better performance during storage. The storage at 20 ºC provides higher seed quality maintenance. Peach palm seeds maintain their viability for 120 days when stored with moisture content of 45% wb at 20 ºC. RESUMO: A pupunha (Bactris gasipaes) é uma importante alternativa para a extração de palmito, apresentando precocidade, rusticidade e alto grau de perfilhamento. As sementes desta espécie são consideradas recalcitrantes, dificultando o armazenamento por longos períodos e a produção de mudas. Neste trabalho objetivou-se identificar uma combinação de teor de água das sementes de pupunha e temperatura durante o armazenamento para maior longevidade das sementes. Foram utilizadas sementes com teor de água de 35% e 45% (base úmida - bu), armazenadas a 20 °C e 25 ºC por 180 dias. As avaliações foram realizadas a cada 60 dias, por meio do teste de germinação, emergência em areia, comprimento da parte aérea, diâmetro de coleto, massa de matéria seca de parte aérea, massa de matéria seca de raiz das plantas e teor de água das sementes. Observou-se que as sementes com teor de água de 45% tiveram desempenho superior durante o armazenamento. A temperatura de 20 ºC proporciona maior manutenção da qualidade das sementes. Sementes de pupunha mantêm sua viabilidade durante 120 dias, quando armazenadas com teor de água de 45% a 20 ºC.

    ABSTRACT: Purple-fleshed sweet potato is a tuber rich in anthocyanins, which are phenolic pigments that confer color and present bioactive capacity. Moreover, its incorporation into dairy products can bring technological and functional benefits. Thus, this article evaluated the impact of the addition of lyophilized purple-fleshed sweet potato powder- LP (0% - Control, 2%, and 4%) on the physical, chemical, and technological characteristics of Greek yogurt. LP showed in vitro antioxidant and bioactive capacity by DPPH (20.64 ± 1.61 μmol TE g-1), FRAP (112.93 ± 4.38 μmol TE g-1), total phenolic content (103.66 ± 3.35 mg GAE g-1), and total anthocyanin content (51.10 ± 1.87 mg cyanidin 3-glucoside 100 g-1). Additionally, the assays demonstrated that the LP has 16.82 ± 0.63% of resistant starch. The fortification of Greek yogurt with LP reduced the syneresis, indicating that LP increased the water retention capacity. LP also inhibited the post-acidification process, increasing apparent viscosity, hardness, and gumminess, and promoting a stable pink coloration throughout the storage (P < 0.05). At the 4% level, the yogurt was firmer and showed greater chewiness, which is highly desirable for Greek yogurt. Therefore, the results suggested that lyophilized purple-fleshed sweet potato powder is a potential multifunctional natural ingredient. RESUMO: Batata-doce de polpa roxa é um tubérculo rico em antocianinas, as quais são pigmentos fenólicos que conferem cor e apresentam capacidade bioativa. Além disso, sua incorporação em produtos lácteos pode trazer benefícios tecnológicos e funcionais. Desta forma, este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o impacto da adição de pó liofilizado de batata-doce de polpa roxa - LP (0% - Controle, 2% e 4%) nas características físicas, químicas e tecnológicas de iogurte tipo Grego. LP apresentou capacidade antioxidante e bioativa in vitro para DPPH (20.64 ± 1.61 μmol TE g-1), FRAP (112.93 ± 4.38 μmol TE g-1), teor de compostos fenólicos totais (103.66 ± 3.35 mg GAE g-1) e teor de antocianinas totais (51.10 ± 1.87 mg cyanidin 3-glucoside 100 g-1). Adicionalmente, os ensaios demonstraram que o LP possui 16,82 ± 0,63% de amido resistente. A fortificação do iogurte Grego com LP reduziu a sinérese, indicando que LP aumentou a capacidade de retenção de água, LP também inibiu o processo pós-acidificação, aumentando a viscosidade aparente, a dureza e a gomosidade, e promovendo uma coloração rosa estável durante todo o armazenamento (P < 0,05). No nível de 4%, o iogurte apresentou-se mais firme e com maior mastigabilidade, o que é altamente desejável para o iogurte tipo Grego. Assim, os resultados sugerem que o pó liofilizado de batata-doce de polpa roxa é um potencial ingrediente natural multifuncional.

    Resumo Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo mensurar o efeito das ações de assistência técnica e extensão rural (ATER) nos meios de vida e na qualidade de vida de agricultores familiares atendidos pela Emater no estado de Goiás, Brasil. A amostra é formada por 120 agricultores atendidos pela Emater no período de 2018 a 2022. Os dados foram coletados por meio de questionário estruturado e analisados por modelagem de equações estruturais PLS-SEM. As ações de ATER têm efeito direto positivo nos meios de vida e na qualidade de vida. Além disso, os meios de vida mediam parcialmente a relação entre ATER e qualidade de vida. Em relação aos efeitos indiretos específicos, a renda foi a dimensão da qualidade de vida mais afetada tanto pela ATER quanto pelos meios de vida, enquanto o capital financeiro foi a dimensão dos meios de vida mais influenciada pela ATER. Esses resultados destacam a contribuição significativa da ATER para aspectos econômicos e financeiros da vida dos agricultores familiares, ao mesmo tempo em que confirmam a importância da educação e da habitação (dimensões da qualidade de vida) e do capital natural, humano e social (dimensões dos meios de vida) para o desenvolvimento global da vida desses agricultores. Os resultados contribuem para a literatura de ATER, meios de subsistência e qualidade de vida, e a validação do instrumento de mensuração da ATER fornece subsídios valiosos para futuros estudos e importantes direcionamentos para a Emater rever e fortalecer suas políticas de ATER. Abstract This research aimed to measure the impact of technical assistance and rural extension (ATER) actions on livelihoods and quality of life of family farmers assisted by Emater in the state of Goiás, Brazil. The sample is of 120 farmers assisted by Emater from the 2018 to 2022, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-SEM. ATER actions has a positive direct effect on both livelihoods and quality of life. Moreover, livelihoods partially mediate the relationship between ATER and quality of life. Regarding specific indirect effects, income was the dimension of quality of life most affected by both ATER and livelihoods, while financial capital was the dimension of livelihoods most influenced by ATER. These findings highlight the significant contribution of ATER to the economic and financial aspects of family farmers, while acknowledging the importance of education and housing (dimensions of quality of life) and natural, human, and social capital (dimensions of livelihoods) for their overall development. The results contribute to the literature on ATER, livelihoods and quality of life, and the validation of the ATER measurement instrument provide valuable subsidies for future studies and important directions for Emater in order to review and strengthen the ATER policies.
