Understanding the impact of green spaces on public health is crucial for urban planning and mental well-beingenhancement in small and medium-sized cities (SMSCs). This study compares the influence of green spaces onmental well-being and psychological distress in C´ordoba and Nitra. Using a cross-sectional survey, responsesfrom 632 participants were collected and evenly distributed between the two cities. Mental well-being andpsychological distress were assessed using the WHO-5 and K6 scales, while also considering sociodemographic factors and green space usage frequency. The findings indicate that green space perception positively correlates with mental well-being in both cities. However, the extent and nature of engagement with these spaces, and their associated health benefits, significantly differ between C´ordoba and Nitra. In Nitra, more time spent in green spaces was strongly linked to higher mental well-being scores. In contrast, in Córdoba, this association was significant only for those spending over three hours in green spaces. The impacts on psychological distress varied, with notable negative associations tied to the frequency of green exercise in Nitra. These results suggest that while green spaces generally support mental well-being and reduce psychological distress, the benefits are not uniformly experienced across different urban settings. Variations could be due to distinct urban characteristics like size and weather. This study highlights the need for a nuanced understanding of how green spaces influence public health, tailored to each city’s specific characteristics. It emphasizes the importance for urban planners to consider these factors to maximize the health benefits of green spaces.

As the digital transformation phenomenon continues to grow within the Wealth management services (WMS) sector, the pressure remains at a broader level of the management to explore technological applications to evolve the value creation and competitive advantage. The synthesis of demand and expectations leads the firms to enable strategic initiatives by exposing themselves to newer risks of business transformational shifts and turnaround revenues against investment swiftly. The research uses the interpretive method with a phenomenological approach to explore the human perspectives from wider hierarchical layers within the WMS firms. The 8months of data collection phase produced extensive data showcasing the complex issues hindering the transformation of legacy approaches. However, despite research studies on the digital transformation phenomenon, there are limitations from a stakeholder’s perspective on understanding the complexities of transformations. Instead, the literature focus is on theimpact aspect over any specific process of various other industries. Thus, this research contributes to the knowledge body by exploring the granular view of digital transformation in the traditional WMS sector and obstructions in adapting to DT from the perspectives of involved stakeholders. The research-based thesis is presented in three stages. The first part of the research establishes the foundational constructions linked to the chosen sector by evaluating the broader spectrum on the extent of digital transformation from existing literature leading to the formulation of main research questions. The second part justifies the chosen research methodology for the research study and identifies parameters for stakeholder selection. The last part of research contributes to a growing body of literature and the practical and methodological contribution. The proposed three-stage framework simplifies the evaluating process for practical usage to achieve the Circular Transformational Cycle.

Impervious soil surfaces have negative impacts on both rural areas and cities by disrupting the hydrological cycle, increasing runoff and reducing infiltration. Mitigating the negative impacts of impervious surfaces is crucial in stimulating resilient and liveable environments for both rural and urban areas. The aim of this study is to review the recent advances in impervious soil surface mapping in urban areas by integrating remote sensing data and artificial intelligence applications based on the research on impervious soil surface monitoring and the opportunities for its use in land degradation studies. According to the literature, it is seen that the studies on the identification and digital mapping of impermeable soil surfaces have gained momentum both with the increase in high-resolution data sources in remote sensing and the assessment of large volumes of data in a short time and with high accuracy by artificial intelligence. New indices specific to impervious soil surfaces have been proposed, especially with remote sensing indices created with the synergy of multiple bands of optical satellite imagery, allowing spectral errors to be reduced. In addition, with the widespread use of deep learning algorithms, high accuracy predictive impervious surface inventory maps have been obtained. Future research should focus on integrating different types of remote sensing data, developing feature or covariate selection methods for prediction algorithms, and developing new deep learning models to create more successful impervious surface maps. In this way, stakeholders such as decision makers and planners in the landscape can be provided with spatial data for sustainable land planning more quickly and accurately.

Abstract: National food security is a critical issue worldwide, with significant implications for economic development, public health, and social stability. This article examines the challenges facing central African countries in achieving food security and explores potential solutions. Key factors contributing to food insecurity, such as population growth, climate change, natural disasters, and socioeconomic inequalities, are discussed. Strategies to enhance food security, including improving agricultural productivity, promoting sustainable farming practices, strengthening food distribution systems, enhancing nutrition education, and implementing social safety nets, are also examined. Drawing on empirical evidence and case studies from diverse regions, this article provides insights into effective policies and interventions for ensuring national food security. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative analysis of policy documents and literature reviews with quantitative assessments of food production, consumption patterns, and socioeconomic indicators. Data was collected from various sources, including government reports, academic publications, and international organizations. Data was obtained from respondents by means of interviews, questionnaires and project observation schedules. The sample consisted of two hundred and fifty respondents. Frequency, percentages, tables, graphs and pie-charts were used to analyze the quantitative and qualitative data obtained. Data was then analyzed manually in some cases and also, a combination of software MS Access and MS Excel. The findings revealed that addressing national food security requires a multifaceted approach that addresses underlying structural issues while also implementing targeted interventions. By prioritizing investments in agriculture, strengthening social safety nets, and promoting inclusive policies, Southern African nations can move closer to achieving food security for all citizens. and the study by implementing the recommendations in a coordinated and context-specific manner, Southern African countries can make significant strides towards achieving sustainable food security and improving the livelihoods of their populations.Top of Form Keywords: Agriculture, Food Security, Nutrition, Sustainable Development, and Social Safety Nets.
