    Authors: Ejike Okonkwo;

    There is an increasing global demand for batteries in the decarbonisation process and an attempt to increase its production within Europe, thereby reducing the dependency on the Asian market. Consequently, the battery industry cluster is emerging in the Nordic region with the requisite raw materials for battery production in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. The industry will encounter medium- and long-term challenges in its supply value chain due to the envisaged transport connectivity issues in the region, especially as the industry begins experiencing growth. Regional networks will play a key role in mitigating these challenges by providing a space for cooperation among actors; however, how regional networks address these transport connectivity issues still needs to be explored. This paper introduces results from a qualitative study that adopts the network approach in examining the nature and the role of a novel network within the Nordic battery cluster. They show that the Nordic Battery Belt (NBB) is an emerging cross-border regional network established to proactively identify the prevailing and the envisaged connectivity challenges within the Nordic region. The NBB, therefore, contributes to the development of logistical strategies and inventories for sustainable and cost-effective transport systems, which will support the battery industry’s supply chain and reduce the industry’s carbon footprints. Overall, the paper advances the understanding of networks and their role in the regional energy transitions literature viz-a-viz the battery industry.

    The research shows that injuries in the world, as well as in Croatia, especially those resulting from traffic accidents, which are in the company Hrvatske šume Ltd. recorded as others, ie categorized along with other injuries at work, represent a significant public health and economic problem, for the wider community, but also for the company Hrvatske šume Ltd. At the same time, the planned measures and activities (primarily the National Road Safety Program of the Republic of Croatia, but also other plans from the state and company level) from year to year do not bring the expected results, ie the number of casualties is still high. Subject research seeks to mitigate the consequences of accidents, through the development of criteria for more accurate and precise classification of injuries as a prerequisite for many procedures, from treatment, rehabilitation, but also rights from employment and other relations, or proceedings before prosecutors, courts and insurance companies. The research covers an area that has not been researched so far or has been researched to a lesser extent in the Republic of Croatia and surrounding countries, and in addition to determining the framework for injury qualification, which should determine the cause-and-effect relationship of certain types of accidents (consecutive driving, side collision, head-on collision and overturning) and injuries that occur in them, with experiential and scientifically based notes related to individual injuries. In this way, the results of the research are an excellent tool, especially for those who are the first to qualify the injuries that a participant sustains in a car accident, or for the doctors who were the first to help the victims. The authors understand the complexity and severity of the moment in which these doctors qualify injuries (sometimes due to the severity of injuries and inability to contact with the injured). Namely, incorrect qualification in the first stage (although in possible future proceedings may be changed by expertise, which is not uncommon) may jeopardize the further course of treatment, rehabilitation, lead to unfounded criminal or misdemeanor proceedings or its absence even though it should have been conducted, and others numerous administrative and judicial proceedings of the participants in the accidents. Which for an individual and the community, and thus the company Hrvatske šume can have significant administrative difficulties and significant material costs. In addition to the primary goal of the research and its focus on doctors who are the first to qualify injuries, it should be useful for accident research services (police, state attorney’s office, courts, insurance companies, but also professional services of Hrvatske šume Ltd.), because they also offer the possibility of the reverse procedure, ie verification, especially in cases when the accident is subsequently reported, or the driver has left the scene, or there are doubts about the nature of the injured participant. Namely, the results of the research enable and instruct everyone involved in these processes, how to connect an individual injury - check with damage to the vehicle or suspect that it occurred there, or how to conduct a quality criminal investigation in this area, fix and describe damage and injuries. For employees of Hrvatske šume Ltd. (but also all other services from the police, HGSS, to firefighters) who are not always able to call an ambulance in case of accidents with vehicles (because accidents happen on forest roads, often without a cell phone signal), or the arrival of an ambulance due to the distance is justifiably long, and the injured should be assisted, this work is extremely useful, because in addition to the qualification it describes the occurrence of damage in / on the vehicle and possible related injuries, and notes on how to recognize individual injuries. First aid to the injured, which, as we know, can in some cases save the life of the injured, but also reduce the consequences of the injury. The results of the research are classified into four overview tables for injury mechanisms in frontal collisions, side collisions, sequential collisions and vehicle overturns. The highest number of qualified injuries was found in frontal collisions (frontal) in which the largest number of injury mechanisms (4), and a total of 58 different injuries were identified, of which 24 qualify as ordinary serious bodily injury, 23 as particularly serious bodily injury, 10 as bodily injury and 1 as particularly severe with fatal consequences. For them, a total of 30 notes were entered in the tables, on how they are reported, what to pay attention to, etc. This indicates that these types of accidents are the most severe in terms of consequences (which are the most numerous for Hrvatske šume Ltd. when it comes to traffic accidents). In side collisions, the two most common mechanisms of injury were identified, and a total of 20 different injuries were identified, of which 8 qualify as ordinary serious bodily injury, 9 as particularly serious bodily injury and 3 as bodily injury. For these injuries, 10 notes are entered in the table. When the vehicle overturned, the three most common mechanisms of injury were identified, and a total of 16 different injuries were identified, of which 9 qualify as ordinary grievous bodily harm, 3 as particularly grievous bodily harm and 4 as bodily injury. 7 notes are entered in the table for these injuries. One injury mechanism was identified for collisions while driving in a sequence, and a total of 7 injuries were identified, of which 2 qualify as ordinary serious bodily injury and 5 as bodily injury. There are 2 notes for these injuries in the table. The presented statistical-analytical indicators of the company Hrvatske šume Ltd., along with other results of this research, are a good basis for further monitoring of injuries in the company, and can be a good basis for further identification (but also research on vehicle ergonomics and vehicle selection and protection, reduce the number and consequences of injuries) and assess the level of protection and safety at work in forest production, ie on the way to it, and increase competitiveness by developing mechanisms to improve educational, technical and safety competencies of human resources. And certainly, like the Ministry of the Interior, the indicators on the types of injuries to the god of uniformity should be harmonized with the terms from the Criminal Code described in this paper (especially severe, etc.). Gledano globalno, ali i općenito u Hrvatskoj te na razini poduzeća Hrvatske šume d.o.o., ozljede nastale kao rezultat prometnih nesreća predstavljaju značajan javnozdarsvtveni i ekonomski trošak. Obveza liječnika koji je prvi pregledao ozlijeđenog u bilo kojem događaju, pa tako i prometnoj nesreći ili događaju koji ima obilježja ozljede na radu, je prijavljivanje ozljeda policiji. U predmetnoj prijavi, uz opće podatke, liječnik je dužan kvalificirati tjelesnu ozljedu. O klalifikaciji predmetne ozljede ovosit će sve daljne radnje tijekom kriminalističkog istraživanja, te hoće li se pokrenut prekršajni, kazneni ili disciplinski postupak. Na temelju navedenog, primarni cilj istraživanja odnosi se na izradu okvira za kvalitetnije, točnije i ujednačenije kvalificiranje ozljeda sudionika prometnih nesreća. Sekundarni cilj istraživanja vezan je za prikaz trenda i kvalifikacije ostalih ozljeda pri radu u prometu unutar poduzeća koje gospodari državnim šumama. Kod analize općih mehanizama ozljeđivanja i povezanih ozljeda tj. kvalifikacije ozljeda sudionika prometnih nesreća, primijenjena je metoda analize, sinteze, kompilacije i klasifikacije, a kod analize numeričkih podataka primijenjena je tehnika deskriptivne statistike. Rezultati istraživanja vezani za kvalifikaciju ozljeda prikazani su unutar četiri pregledne tablice glede mehanizma nastupanja ozljeda kod frontalnih sudara, bočnih sudara, sudara u vožnji u slijedu i kod prevrtanja vozila. Najveći broj kvalificiranih ozljeda (n=58) utvrđen je kod frontalnih sudara, kod kojih je utvrđen i najveći broj mehanizama ozljeda (n=4). Najmanji broj mehanizama ozljeđivanja (n=1) i najmanji broj kvalificiranih ozljeda (n=7) identificiran je kod sudara u vožnji u slijedu. Udio priznatih ostalih ozljeda pri radu u prometu (službeno putovanje, dolazak na posao, odlazak s posla) unutar poduzeću Hrvatske šume d.o.o. za promatrano razdoblje, u odnosu na ukupan broj ozljeda, kreće se u rasponu od 5,14 % do 2,59 %. Spoznaje i rezultati predmetnog istraživanja široj stručnoj i znanstvenoj zajednici postavljaju potencijalni okvir za ujednačavanjem i podizanjem razine kvalitete kvalifikacije ozljeda kod četiri osnovna tipa prometnih nesreća.

    While geomedia is a new concept in Finnish curricula, it merely describes geographical methods and data that have always been central in geography education. In this study, we interviewed geography teachers on 1) how they understand the concept of geomedia, 2) what is the role of geomedia in their students’ everyday lives and how that is reflected in the school education, and 3) what is the impact of geomedia education for geography education in general and for the society. The interviewed teachers work with pupils from ages 7 to 19. The results show, for example, that most teachers consider geomedia as a useful hypernym at the curriculum level, but understanding of the concept is limited and few teachers utilize the term in the classroom. Outside the classroom pupils are mainly exposed to visual forms of geomedia and would need stronger skills to examine it critically. The teachers agree that geomedia education forms the basis of methodological geography skills and supports geographical thinking. Finally, geomedia education provides the pupils with skills to use geomedia in their everyday lives and to acquire many relevant skills in the future.

    U radu je prikazana suvremena poljoprivredna tehnika u zaštiti bilja i to putem elektrostatičkog naboja. Primjenom elektronskih uređaja postiže se učinkovitija i daleko preciznija zaštita bilja koja predstavlja sve veći izazov tijekom biljne proizvodnje. Upotreba elektrostatičkog naboja prilikom apliciranja zaštitnih sredstava primjenjiva je u klasičnoj konvencionalnoj proizvodnji i u ekološkoj biljnoj proizvodnji što doprinosi još većem interesu poljoprivrednika. U radu su prikazani različiti poljoprivredni sustavi za apliciranje zaštitnih sredstava uz pomoć elektrostatičkog naboja. The paper presents a modern agricultural technique in the protection of plants through electrostatic charging. The use of electronic devices achieves more efficient and far more precise protection of plants, which represents an increasing challenge during plant production. The use of electrostatic charge when applying protective agents is applicable in classic conventional production and in ecological plant production, which contributes to even greater interest of farmers. The paper presents different agricultural systems for applying protective agents via electrostatic charge.

    Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) historically has been an important source of food in the world. In order for potatoes to be used throughout the year, it is necessary to preserve their physical and chemical properties by processing them. Potato processing includes drying, cleaning, sorting and processing into finished products. After the potato harvest, they are cleaned of soil and impurities, healthy and well-cleaned potato goes to the storage. Potatoes are stored in temporary and permanent warehouses at the optimal storage temperature. By maintaining optimal consditions in the warehouses, which include monitoring of temperature, humidity and air composition, losses are reduced to the smallest possible extent (about 3.7%), and the potato maintain a satisfactory quality. Accordingly, the aim of this paper is to determine and provide an overview of the most favorable way of processing and storing potatoes. Krumpir (Solanum tuberosum L.) je kroz povijest bio važan izvor hrane u svijetu. Kako bi se krumpir mogao koristiti kroz cijelu godinu potrebno je očuvati njegova fizikalna i kemijska svojstva doradom. U doradu krumpira pripada sušenje, čišćenje, sortiranje i preradu u gotove proizvode. Nakon berbe krumpira gomolji se čiste od zemlje i primjesa, dok zdravi i kvalitetno očišćeni gomolji odlaze na skladištenje. Krumpir se čuva u privremenim i stalnim skladištima na optimalnoj temperaturi skladištenja. Održavanjem optimalnih uvjeta u skladištima koji obuhvaćaju praćenje temperature, vlažnosti i sastava zraka smanjuju se gubici na najmanju moguću mjeru (oko 3,7 %), a gomolji održavaju i zadovoljavajuću kvalitetu. Slijedom navedenog, cilj ovog rada je utvrditi i dati pregled za najpovoljniji način dorade i skladištenja krumpira

    Radna je snaga ukupnost čovjekovih fizičkih i duhovnih sposobnosti koje se mogu koristiti za proizvodnju uporabnih vrijednosti bilo koje vrste. Kao ekonomski aktivni dio stanovništva, ona je najznačajniji čimbenik, pokretač i nositelj procesa proizvodnje u svim tipovima društva i gospodarskim djelatnostima. U šumarstvu proizvodni šumski radnici, tj. kvalitetna, stručno osposobljena i održiva radna snaga temeljni je preduvjet za uspješnu šumsku proizvodnju te sastavna i neodvojiva komponenta u suvremenoj, općeprihvaćenoj paradigmi održivoga gospodarenja šumama. Šumarski se sektor danas, međutim, sve više suočava s problemom nedostatka šumskih radnika i izazovom osiguranja kvalificirane i održive radne snage. U radu se stoga općim obilježjima i pokazateljima šumskoga rada (uvjeti rada, sigurnost i zdravlje radnika, psihofizički zahtjevi pri radu i sl.) prikazuje stanje i položaj radne snage u šumarstvu u Europi i u svijetu. Posebno se iznose određena pitanja i problemi s kojima se danas šumarski sektor susreće u pribavljanju i osiguranju potrebne radne snage (nedostatak radnika, iseljavanje ruralnih područja, manjak interesa za rad u šumarstvu, neformalno zapošljavanje, starenje radne snage, šumarski poduzetnici, migrantska radna snaga i sl.). Svrha se rada sastoji u senzibilizaciji struke i javnosti na pitanja radne snage u šumarstvu, njezina stanja i održivosti te se obuhvatnim pregledom glavnih problema i izazova nastoje pružiti podloge koje mogu biti važna polazišta u unapređenju položaja radne snage u šumarstvu te cjelokupnoga gospodarenja šumama.

    Publisher Copyright: © 2022, The Author(s). In recent years, the manufacturing sector is going through a major transformation, as reflected in the concept of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation. The urge for such transformation is intensified when we consider the growing societal demands for sustainability. The notion of sustainable manufacturing has emerged as a result of this trend. Additionally, industries and the whole society face the challenges of an increasing number of disruptive events, either natural or human-caused, that can severely affect the normal operation of systems. Furthermore, the growing interconnectivity between organizations, people, and physical systems, supported by recent developments in information and communication technologies, highlights the important role that collaborative networks can play in the digital transformation processes. As such, this article analyses potential synergies between the areas of sustainable and resilient manufacturing and collaborative networks. The work also discusses how the responsibility for the various facets of sustainability can be distributed among the multiple entities involved in manufacturing. The study is based on a literature survey, complemented with the experience gained from various research projects and related initiatives in the area, and is organized according to various dimensions of Industry 4.0. A brief review of proposed approaches and indicators for measuring sustainability from the networked manufacturing perspective is also included. Finally, a set of key research challenges are identified to complement strategic research agendas in manufacturing. publishersversion published

    Cilj: Analizirati učinkovitost primjene egzoskeletnog robotskog uređaja Armeo Power® (Hocoma, Švicarska) u rehabilitaciji ruke osoba s jednostranim motoričkim ispadom nakon moždanog udara. Ispitanici i metode: U istraživanje koje je provedeno na Zavodu za fizikalnu i rehabilitacijsku medicinu KBC-a Rijeka bilo je uključeno ukupno 20 ispitanika iz stacionarne rehabilitacije. Eksperimentalna skupina (n = 10) uz konvencionalnu terapiju tretirana je i na Armeo Power® uređaju (5 puta tjedno / 4 tjedna; 45 minuta po tretmanu). Istovremeno se kod kontrolne skupine (n = 10) provodila samo konvencionalna terapija. Konvencionalna terapija u objema skupinama bila je vremenski usklađena (5 puta tjedno / 4 tjedna; 45 minuta po tretmanu). Procjenjivale su se motorička funkcija, funkcionalna mjera neovisnosti te prosječno izvođenje i zadovoljstvo izvođenjem okupacije, a procjena se vršila kliničkim ocjenskim ljestvicama. Rezultati: Kod svih kliničkih parametara u ponovljenim mjerenjima zabilježeno je statistički značajno poboljšanje (P = 0,005). Usporedbom između skupina na kraju liječenja nije utvrđena statistički značajna razlika u mjerama motoričke funkcije na FMA (engl. Fugl-Meyer Assessment) skali (P = 0,120) niti funkcionalne neovisnosti na FIM (engl. Functional Independence Measure) skali (P = 0,762). Međutim, zbog značajno bolje motoričke funkcije eksperimentalne skupine na početku, teško je s velikim značajem promatrati usporedbu na kraju liječenja, barem kada je riječ o FMA. Statistički značajna razlika između skupina na kraju liječenja zabilježena je samo u rezultatima COPM-a (engl. Canadian Occupational Performance Measure) (prosječno izvođenje, P = 0,014; prosječno zadovoljstvo, P = 0,022). Zaključci: Dobiveni rezultati ukazuju da terapija uređajem Armeo Power u kombinaciji s konvencionalnom terapijom može poboljšati funkcionalni oporavak nakon moždanog udara, iako su potrebna daljnja istraživanja na većem broju bolesnika. Aim: To analyze the impact of exoskeletal robotic device Armeo Power® (Hocoma, Switzerland) on arm and hand post-stroke rehabilitation of patients with one side movement disability. Patients and methods: Among the patients who participated in the stationary rehabilitation program at Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine in Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka we formed experimental group of 10 patients, and corresponding control group. For experimental group, we combined conventional and robotic therapy (5 times a week for 4 weeks, 45 minutes per therapy), while in the control group we applied only conventional therapy. Conventional therapy in both groups was the same (5 times a week for 4 weeks, 45 minutes per therapy). Assessment of a motoric function, functional measurement of independence, average performance, satisfaction in the therapy and estimation was done by clinical scales. Results: Statistically significant improvement was noticed in both groups with all clinical parameters (P=0,005). Comparing the two groups at the end of treatment there was no significant statistic difference in measurements of motor function on FMA (Fugl-Meyer Assessment) scale (P=0,120), or functional independence on FIM (Functional Independence Measure) scale (P=0,762). Statistically significant difference between groups at the end of treatment was registered only in results of COPM (Canadian Occupational Performance Measure), average performance P=0,014; average satisfaction P=0,022. Conclusion: Obtained results show that Armeo Power therapy in combination with conventional therapy can improve functional recovery of patients after brain stroke, although further research is needed on a larger number of patients.

    Landfast sea ice (LFSI) is a critical component of the Arctic sea ice cover, and is changing as a result of Arctic amplification of climate change. Located in coastal areas, LFSI is of great significance to the physical and ecological systems of the Arctic shelf and in local indigenous communities. We present an overview of the physics of Arctic LFSI and the associated implications on the cryosphere. LFSI is kept in place by four fasten mechanisms. The evolution of LFSI is mostly determined by thermodynamic processes, and can therefore be used as an indicator of local climate change. We also present the dynamic processes that are active prior to the formation of LFSI, and those that are involved in LFSI freeze-up and breakup. Season length, thickness and extent of Arctic LFSI are decreasing and showing different trends in different seas, and therefore, causing environmental and climatic impacts. An improved coordination of Arctic LFSI observation is needed with a unified and systematic observation network supported by cooperation between scientists and indigenous communities, as well as a better application of remote sensing data to acquire detailed LFSI cryosphere physical parameters, hence revolving both its annual cycle and long-term changes. Integrated investigations combining in situ measurements, satellite remote sensing and numerical modeling are needed to improve our understanding of the physical mechanisms of LFSI seasonal changes and their impacts on the environment and climate.     Authors: Herold, Silke; Heller, Jonas; Rozemeijer, Frank; Mahr, Dominik;

    Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to achieve a collective understanding of the capabilities required for digital procurement transformation (DPT). Design/methodology/approach: The authors contextualize theory about dynamic capabilities (DCs) to integrate the fragmented body of literature on procurement digitalization by means of a systematic literature review (SLR). By extracting and clustering capabilities, as well as proven performance outcomes from existing literature in the field, the authors develop a conceptual model of the DCs required for DPT. Findings: The authors first introduce and define DPT and the corresponding motivations that trigger firms to invest in advanced digital technologies. Second, by adopting the DC lens, the authors provide an overview of nine microfoundations required for DPT and highlight the strategic options procurement leaders can use when strategizing about adopting combinations of digital technologies. Third, the authors present a future research agenda on DCs for DPT. Research limitations/implications: The developed conceptual model must be verified and enhanced through further empirical research. Practical implications: The conceptual model can be used by procurement leaders as a starting point and framework when strategizing about digitally transforming the procurement organization. Originality/value: The study is the first to synthesize previous research findings on procurement digitalization through an SLR in order to develop a fine-grained conceptual model that supports practitioners and researchers alike in better understanding the capabilities required for and potential performance outcomes of DPT.     Authors: Ejike Okonkwo;

    Authors: Matijević, Goran; Peulić, Velibor; Cesarik, Marijan; Zečić Željko; +1 Authors

    Landfast sea ice (LFSI) is a critical component of the Arctic sea ice cover, and is changing as a result of Arctic amplification of climate change. Located in coastal areas, LFSI is of great significance to the physical and ecological systems of the Arctic shelf and in local indigenous communities. We present an overview of the physics of Arctic LFSI and the associated implications on the cryosphere. LFSI is kept in place by four fasten mechanisms. The evolution of LFSI is mostly determined by thermodynamic processes, and can therefore be used as an indicator of local climate change. We also present the dynamic processes that are active prior to the formation of LFSI, and those that are involved in LFSI freeze-up and breakup. Season length, thickness and extent of Arctic LFSI are decreasing and showing different trends in different seas, and therefore, causing environmental and climatic impacts. An improved coordination of Arctic LFSI observation is needed with a unified and systematic observation network supported by cooperation between scientists and indigenous communities, as well as a better application of remote sensing data to acquire detailed LFSI cryosphere physical parameters, hence revolving both its annual cycle and long-term changes. Integrated investigations combining in situ measurements, satellite remote sensing and numerical modeling are needed to improve our understanding of the physical mechanisms of LFSI seasonal changes and their impacts on the environment and climate.     Authors: Herold, Silke; Heller, Jonas; Rozemeijer, Frank; Mahr, Dominik;

    Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to achieve a collective understanding of the capabilities required for digital procurement transformation (DPT). Design/methodology/approach: The authors contextualize theory about dynamic capabilities (DCs) to integrate the fragmented body of literature on procurement digitalization by means of a systematic literature review (SLR). By extracting and clustering capabilities, as well as proven performance outcomes from existing literature in the field, the authors develop a conceptual model of the DCs required for DPT. Findings: The authors first introduce and define DPT and the corresponding motivations that trigger firms to invest in advanced digital technologies. Second, by adopting the DC lens, the authors provide an overview of nine microfoundations required for DPT and highlight the strategic options procurement leaders can use when strategizing about adopting combinations of digital technologies. Third, the authors present a future research agenda on DCs for DPT. Research limitations/implications: The developed conceptual model must be verified and enhanced through further empirical research. Practical implications: The conceptual model can be used by procurement leaders as a starting point and framework when strategizing about digitally transforming the procurement organization. Originality/value: The study is the first to synthesize previous research findings on procurement digitalization through an SLR in order to develop a fine-grained conceptual model that supports practitioners and researchers alike in better understanding the capabilities required for and potential performance outcomes of DPT.
