    Fertilisation is often used to increase plant productivity in agriculture but has also been used in forestry. In our study, Scots pine forest growing in a nitrogen-poor environment was fertilised with NPK post-production wastewater from a potato starch factory. Our research aimed to investigate the dependence of tree growth on different NPK concentrations. Cell characteristics such as cell wall thickness (CWT), lumen diameter (LD) and tree-ring features such as ring width (RW), total number of cells in annual growth (nTotal), earlywood (EW) and latewood (LW) were investigated. Twenty-six years of regular fertilisation of the forest with different doses of wastewater rich in NPK elements have affected the anatomical structure of Scots pine trees. It is presumed that the reduction in CWT and LD on the fertilised site was due to deficiencies in plant water conductivity, which may have occurred due to physiological drought. The influence of nitrogen on unfertilised site from the wastewater area could contribute to the CWT thickening. The results confirm that the use of NPK in excessive doses is detrimental to trees' conductive system.

    Nature-based solutions (NBSs) and urban greening are well-established strategies used in various planning and policy instruments to promote the sustainability of cities and mitigate the effects of climate changes. Within this context, green roofs are emerging as an effective NBS in urban areas where space is often limited. The estimation of green roofs' benefits is essential for their effective implementation and engineering design. In this contribution, we present a daily time-step model to estimate the surface temperature, the growth of vegetation cover and the hydrological behaviour of a green roof. The model is tested using twenty time series of real and independent European green roofs. Results show that, in the absence of calibration, the model can reproduce the daily surface temperature with high accuracy. The vegetation growing period is also reproduced. The hydrological variables can be estimated with moderate accuracy, and higher accuracy can be achieved when the model is calibrated. Therefore, the model proves a useful tool to support the appraisal of green roofs and the planning of green infrastructures in European cities.

    Inženirske risbe se še vedno pretežno uporabljajo v industriji za prenos in prikaz konstrukcijskih zahtev. Kljub temu se v industrijo vse bolj uvaja tehnologija celovite opredelitve modela ali MBD, ki omogoča povečanje učinkovitosti in natančnosti razvojnega cikla podjetja. V sklopu naloge smo v podjetju Domel na primeru izdelka sesalne enote raziskali, kakšne informacije so prikazane na risbah podjetja in v katerih delovnih procesih so uporabljene. Preverili smo, ali programska oprema PTC Creo na 3D modelu omogoča prikaz vseh informacij, ki se nahajajo na njegovi risbi. Identificirali smo delovne postopke, ki uporabljajo inženirske risbe, in prikazali, kako jih je treba spremeniti pri implementaciji MBD. Prav tako smo izvedli anketo, s katero smo raziskali delovne navade zaposlenih v podjetju in njihovo mnenje glede opravljanja dela z MBD. Ugotovili smo, da program PTC Creo ne predstavlja tehnične ovire pri vpeljavi MBD v podjetju. Potrebne so spremembe delovnih postopkov in uporabljene programske opreme pri procesu digitalnega žigosanja dokumentacije in kontrole kakovosti izdelkov. Engineering drawings are still predominantly used in the industry to transfer and display design requirements. Nevertheless, the industry is increasingly adopting Model Based Definition (MBD) technology, which makes it possible to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the company’s development cycle. As part of the assignment, we investigated at Domel what information is displayed on the drawings of the company and in what work processes are the drawings used. We checked whether the PTC Creo software allows to display on the 3D model all of the information contained in its drawing. We identified workflows that use engineering drawings and showed how they need to be changed when implementing MBD. We also conducted a survey to investigate the working habits of the company’s employees and their opinion of working with MBD. We found that the PTC Creo program does not represent a technical barrier to the implementation of MBD in the company. Changes are required in workflows and software used in the process of digital stamping of documentation and product quality control.

    Authors: Blažan Cvikl, Anja;

    In the diploma thesis, we discuss competencies in the field of logistics 4.0. We made analyze of published job advertisements in Slovenia, in the period from January 2020 to the end of June 2020. We were interested in which competencies are required in logistics sector and supply chains and which competencies are characteristic of logistics 4.0. The thesis is comprised of a theoretical and an empirical part. For the theoretical part, we examine the role of competencies, presented some definitions and divisions of competencies and defined competencies in logistics. The focus is on logistics 4.0. In the empirical part, we analyzed job advertisements, researched which competencies employees in Slovenia need and which competencies are required by employers in jobs in the field of logistics and supply chain. We classify them into three groups, according to the model of Grodek-Szostak, Ochoa Siguencia, Szelag Sikora & Marzano (2020) technical, methodological, and social competencies. The results show that social competencies most often appear in job advertisements. Less often than social appears methodological competencies. The least competencies required of the employer are technical competencies. The most frequently required social competence are language skills. Within the group of methodological competencies, administration competencies are most frequently required. The most sought-after competency in the group of technical competencies are basics computer skills. The five most important and most frequently required competencies in Slovenia are language skills, communication skills, basics computing knowledge, ability to work in a team and administrative skills. Some important key competencies in the field of logistics 4.0 are knowledge in the field of process automation and robotics, information technologies, programing etc. These advanced competencies that are new and important for industry 4.0 and the logistics sector are currently not yet relevant in Slovenian companies, so they are not in job advertisements and are not yet required. V diplomskem delu so obravnavane kompetence na področju logistike 4.0. S pomočjo analize objavljenih zaposlitvenih oglasov prostih delovnih mest v Sloveniji v obdobju od januarja 2020 do konca junija 2020 je bila narejena raziskava o tem, katere kompetence so zahtevane v logistiki in oskrbovalnih verigah in če so to kompetence, ki so značilne za logistiko 4.0. Diplomsko delo je sestavljeno iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela. V teoretičnem delu smo podrobno raziskali kompetence, definicije kompetenc, delitev kompetenc in opredelili kompetence v logistiki. Poudarek je predvsem na kompetencah v logistiki 4.0. V empiričnem delu smo proučili in analizirali zaposlitvene oglase, raziskali, katere kompetence potrebuje zaposleni v Sloveniji oz. katere kompetence zahtevajo delodajalci na delovnih mestih s področja logistike in oskrbovalnih verig. Kompetence smo po vzoru Grodek-Szostaka, Ochoa Siguencia, Szelag-Sikora in Marzana (2020) razdelili v tri skupine tehnične, metodološke in socialne kompetence. Rezultati kažejo, da so najbolj iskane socialne kompetence, sledijo jim metodološke, najmanj zahtev pa je po tehničnih kompetencah. Med socialnimi kompetencami prevladuje potreba po znanju tujega jezika. Znotraj skupine metodoloških kompetenc so najpogosteje iskane administracijske veščine. Najbolj iskana kompetenca v skupini tehničnih kompetenc pa je osnovno znanje računalništva. Pet najpomembnejših in najpogosteje zahtevanih kompetenc v Sloveniji predstavljajo znanje tujega jezika, komunikacijske veščine, osnovno znanje računalništva, timsko delo in administracijske veščine. Nekaterih pomembnih kompetence s področja logistike 4.0, kot so na primer znanje na področju avtomatizacije procesov in robotizacije, znanje naprednih informacijskih tehnologij, programiranje itd., delodajalci v Sloveniji še ne zahtevajo, čeprav so ključne za razvoj logistike v sklopu industrije 4.0.

    Authors: Mali, Mitja;

    In the contemporary world, the process of digitization has reached a global scale, becoming almost inescapable. A growing number of different profit and non-profit organisations are trying to digitalize themselves and with that optimise their operations. The desire for digitalization is also felt by multiple firefighting organizations, which are trying to support their operations with a mobile application. Dedicated mobile applications can be a good and practical substitute for the classic pagers that firefighters have previously used. Since a large variety of similar applications can be found on the market, we have decided to take the application of FireApp d. o. o. under close review and assess its quality. The quality of the application will be assessed on the basis of a questionnaire completed by the users of the application and providing answers. As a part of the thesis, we will check whether it is possible to use the mobile application to reduce the time spent by fire-fighters exporting to interventions compared to the use of only the classic call signs. The thesis will be able to help both the developers of the application for further changes, as well as the firefighters in terms of an easier decision about the possible purchase of the application or to learn about its functions. Digitalizacija je dandanes postala globalna in skoraj neizogibna. Vedno več različnih profitnih in neprofitnih organizacij se poskuša digitalizirati in s tem optimizirati svoje poslovanje. Željo po digitalizaciji imajo tudi številne gasilske organizacije, ki poskušajo svoje delovanje podpreti z mobilno aplikacijo. Namenske mobilne aplikacije so lahko dobra in praktična nadomestitev klasičnih pozivnikov, ki so jih gasilci uporabljali pred tem. Ker lahko na trgu najdemo velik spekter podobnih aplikacij, smo se odločili, da bomo aplikacijo podjetja FireApp, d. o. o., vzeli pod drobnogled in ocenili njeno kakovost. Kakovost aplikacije bomo ocenjevali na podlagi anketnega vprašalnika, izpolnjenega s strani uporabnikov aplikacije, in predstavili odgovore. V diplomskem delu bomo preverili, ali je s pomočjo uporabe aplikacije možno skrajšati čas izvoza gasilcev na intervencijo v primerjavi z uporabo le klasičnih pozivnikov. Diplomsko delo bo lahko pripomoglo tako razvijalcem aplikacije za nadaljnje spremembe kot tudi gasilcem glede lažje odločitve o morebitnem nakupu aplikacije oziroma za spoznavanje njenih funkcij.

    Oils are used to treat wood surfaces for interior and exterior use. The addition of pigments can provide additional visual effects, such as a rustic appearance that highlights the wood pores, while increasing the protective effect of the coating against photochemical decomposition of the wood substrate. In our research, instead of classical pigments we used a natural and renewable raw material, liquefied wood (LW), which we mixed in two proportions with two oils. The mixtures prepared in this way were applied to samples of beech and ash wood. After application, we first monitored the drying rate and also determined surface resistance to cold liquids and dry heat after drying. We also subjected the surfaces to artificial ageing under ultraviolet (UV) light to verify the role of the LW additive. Colour differences were determined performing colour measurements before and after coating and after exposure to UV light. Our research confirmed that LW is compatible with tung oil and Bio impregnol WM oil, and therefore can be used successfully for their staining. We also confirmed that the addition of LW to tung oil does not affect the resistance of surfaces coated in this way to cold liquids, nor the resistance of the surfaces of both oils to dry heat. Unfortunately, the addition of LW to oils slows the drying rate. In addition, we found that coatings stained with LW are not the most stable to light. Olja se uporabljajo za obdelavo površin lesa v notranji in zunanji uporabi. Če jim dodamo pigmente, lahko z njimi dosegamo dodatne vizualne učinke, kot so rustikalen izgled, poudarjanje lesnih por, obenem pa povečamo zaščitno sposobnost premaza proti fotodegradaciji lesne podlage. V naši raziskavi smo namesto klasičnih pigmentov uporabili naraven in obnovljiv vir, utekočinjen les (UL), ki smo ga v dve olji vmešali v dveh razmerjih. Tako pripravljene mešanice smo nanesli na vzorce bukovega in jesenovega lesa. Po nanosu smo najprej spremljali hitrost sušenja, po osušitvi pa smo določili še odpornost površin proti hladnim tekočinam ter suhi toploti. Površine smo tudi izpostavili pogojem umetnega staranja pod ultravijolično (UV) svetlobo in s tem preverili, kakšno vlogo pri tem igra dodatek UL. Barvne razlike smo določili z meritvami barve pred premazovanjem in po njem ter po izpostavitvi UV svetlobi. Naša raziskava je potrdila, da je UL kompatibilen s tungovim in Bio impregnol WM oljem, ter se posledično lahko uspešno uporablja za njuno za njuno obarvanje. Potrdili smo tudi, da dodajanje UL v tungovo olje ne vpliva na odpornost tako premazanih površin proti hladnim tekočinam in niti ne na odpornost površin obeh olj proti suhi toploti. Žal pa dodajanje UL v olja upočasnjuje hitrost sušenja. Dodatno smo tudi ugotovili, da z UL obarvani premazi niso najbolj fotostabilni.

    Authors: Mali, Mitja;
