description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2020Publisher:Universidad Catolica del Norte - Chile Authors: Ali Ahmad; Martin Bača; Saba Sultan;Ali Ahmad; Martin Bača; Saba Sultan;Abstract A set of vertices W is a resolving set of a graph G if every two vertices of G have distinct representations of distances with respect to the set W. The number of vertices in a smallest resolving set is called the metric dimension. This invariant has extensive applications in robotics, since the metric dimension can represent the mínimum number of landmarks, which uniquely determine the position of a robot moving in a graph space. Finding the metric dimension of a graph is an NP-hard problem. We present exact values of the metric dimensión of Kayak Paddles graph and Cycles with chord.

This paper is focused on a new wood plastic composites based on pre-dried New Mexico red chile stems and leafs with high-density polyethylene. The specimens were manufactured following ASTM 638-9 standard using injection molding. A series of experiments were designed to investigate how wood fiber length, geometry, and water absorption affects the microcellular structure of the new sustainable material. The effects of proportions and particle size on the strength of the resulting blend were analyzed. It was found that larger particle sizes of wood fiber showed higher mechanical properties. The blending of additives in the new sustainable material has shown to increase proper fiber dispersion improving the strength of the material.

Specifically, stalks and leafs of chili plants of the region of New Mexico, Texas, USA were used as a plant-based reinforcing material. For this, a design of experiments (DOE) is proposed considering different percentages of PP, wood, fire retardant, coupling agent and UV stabilizer, different mesh sizes are also considered. Samples were obtained using an extrusion molding machine. A statistical analysis is proposed to obtain the optimal percentages of the components considered in the fabrication of the samples in order to enhance the mechanical and morphologic properties of this new composite. Results show that the yield stress, breaking stress and ultimate tensile stress can be maximized with a proportion of 3 to 1 (63,75% PP and 21,25% wood fiber) of PP and wood fiber.

Their thermogravimetric analysis have shown that they begin to decompose respectively from 135°C, 145°C and 140°C. About 24%, 40% and 39 % solid residues of their initial masses exist at the end of the analysis. Thermomechanical analysis has shown that the formulation containing paraformaldehyde powder as hardener has the best rigidity and the worst contains the hexamethylenetetramine. All formulations have different thermal degradation, differences were more significant between 400 and 900°C. The decomposition of hardeners become more significant from 400°C.

Ganash;International audience; The structure of traditional, linear phenol-formaldehyde (PF) resins and phenol-furfural (P-Furan) resins has been investigated by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectroscopy. The structure of a variety of oligomers has been obtained and the structures present in each of the two types of resins related to the reagent used either formaldehyde or furfural. The oligomers type and species distribution appeared rather different for each case. Comparison of a P-Furan resin with a Mimosa tannin-Furan resin showed some differences. This latter shows a greater proportion of self-condensed fuanic oligomers due to the manner in which it is prepared starting from furfuryl alcohol. Several different Tannin-Furan oligomers were also observed by MALDI TOF analysis.
