Ecosystem accounting is based on the definition of the extent and the status of an ecosystem. Land cover maps extents are representative of several ecosystems and can therefore be used to support ecosystem accounting if reliable change information is available. The dataset described in this paper aims to provide land cover information (13 classes) for biodiversity monitoring, which has driven two key features. On one hand, open areas were described in more details (5 classes) than in the other maps available in the study area in order to increase their relevance for biodiversity models. On the other hand, monitoring means that the time series must consist of comparable layers. The time series integrate information from existing high quality land cover maps that are not fully comparable, as well as thematic products (crop type, road network and forest type) and remote sensing data (25 cm orthophotos, 0.8 pts/m2 LIDAR and Sentinel-1&2 data). Because of the high spatial resolution of the data and the fragmented landscape, boundary errors could cause a large proportion of false change detection if the maps are classified independently. Buildings and forests were therefore consolidated across time in order to build a time series where these changes can be trusted. Based on an independent validation, the overall accuracy was 93.1%, 92.6%, 94.8% and 93.9% +/− 1.3% for the years 2006, 2015, 2018 and 2019, respectively. The specific assessment of forest patch change highlighted a 98% +/− 2.7% user accuracy across the 4 years and 85% of forest cut detection. This time series will be completed and further consolidated with other dates using the same protocol and legend.

From 2019 to 2022, since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the global percentage of hunger rose by 150 million people, which is 10% of the world population. At the same time, one-third of food is thrown away because it cannot reach the final consumer. Climate change, natural catastrophes, wars leading to humanitarian crises are the main and ongoing causes of hunger. COVID-19 acted as an accelerator of processes that exacerbate the food security crisis, to which import-dependent countries are especially sensitive. Quarantine that was introduced as a tool to combat the spread of the COVID-19 acted as a catalyst of social, economic, political, ecological, and food crisis that is displayed in the global economic system and in agriculture – its subsystem. At first glance, the increase in the percentage of starving populations on the planet is explained by poverty and the inability to purchase basic food products; a rise in prices was caused by breaks in logistics chains, the increase in the price of energy carriers, and economic shifts caused by the lockdown. In practice, despite the constantly growing volumes of global production of agro-industrial products, the balance between demand and supply of products that ensure the world's food security has been disturbed. The research problem lies in the insufficient determination of intangible causes of hunger, other than those caused by poverty and social inequality. The aim of the research is to show the prospects of the aggravation the food security crisis due to excess of food demand over supply, and to propose theoretical ways out of the crisis. The quantitative method of panel data research was used to prepare the article. The visualization method was used to simplify the perception of the proposed array of information. It is possible to overcome such social problems as hunger, poverty, climate and ecology problems caused by the increase in the temperature on the planet's surface, ocean pollution, and soil degradation only through adaptation and achieving synergy between the planet’s ecosystems. Agriculture as a main factor of food security should be transformed through implementing principles of climate-optimized agriculture and blue economy (use of ocean resources) as a source of “blue food” to achieve food sustainability.

"Die Region" begegnet uns ganz selbstverständlich in Alltag, Politik, Wirtschaft und Medien sowie als (raum-)wissenschaftlicher Fachbegriff. Auch wenn Regionen auf den ersten Blick als etwas Faktisches erscheinen, zeigt sich beim zweiten Hinsehen, wie sich das Regionale einer konkreten Begriffsbestimmung entzieht - was auch als Stärke verstanden werden kann. Die Beiträge des Bandes erkunden "die Region", indem sie von Begriffskombinationen ausgehend - etwa "die arme Region", "die flexible Region", "die Genussregion" oder "die Untersuchungsregion" - eine Reise durch verschiedene Dimensionen des Regionalen unternehmen und neue Verständnisse von Regionen, Regionalisierungen und Regionalität anregen.

Gängige Formen von Diskriminierung sowie die Reproduktion normativer Stereotype sind auch bei künstlicher Intelligenz an der Tagesordnung. Die Beitragenden erläutern Möglichkeiten der Reduktion dieser fehlerhaften Verfahrensweisen und verhandeln die ambivalente Beziehung zwischen Queerness und KI aus einer interdisziplinären Perspektive. Parallel dazu geben sie einem queer-feministischen Wissensverständnis Raum, das sich stets als partikular, vieldeutig und unvollständig versteht. Damit eröffnen sie Möglichkeiten des Umgangs mit KI, die reduktive Kategorisierungen überschreiten können.

The thesis examines the changing job description of a private banker as a banking professional in the changing world of the future. The starting point is the impact of digitalization in the financial sector on the working and operating environment in the banking sector. The goal is to find the most important development points that private bankers should take into account when developing their own expertise. The research method of this qualitative study is the observation. Observation is used to gain information about a private banker's job description and working methods. With the help of observation, clear and immediate feedback has been received on the impact of digitalization on the operations of the financial sector. From the study, it can be concluded that, especially when looking at the duties and activities of a private banker, digitalization and technology are changing operating methods significantly. As customers are different, a private banker needs versatile skills and self-direction, so that customers' affairs can be handled flexibly, regardless of channels, without forgetting the opportunities brought by digitalization, which together with the previous methods of operation bring the best possible customer experience.

Архивът "Недвижими културни ценности" към Регионален исторически музей – София съдържа 1300 досиета на всички паметници (включващи сгради, мостове и монументи), намиращи се в централната градска част и околните близки квартали на град София. Към момента всички досиета притежават свои дигитални копия, придружени от оригинални стари снимки – главно от 70-те и 80-те години на миналия век, както и актуално изображение. Прикрепени са планове и скици на околния обем. Фокусът на дигиталната единица, обаче, е поставен не толкова върху архитектурния ансамбъл и градоустройство, колкото до историческата справка за съответната личност или събитие, свързано с разглеждания паметник. Чрез различни способи на работа е направен опит за съхранение на част от историята на града – запазващо неговата памет в дигитален формат. Те се състоят в дигитализиране на хартиения носител, описване и заснемане състоянието на паметника, събиране на данни от архиви, библиотеки и живи наследници. The archive "Immovable Cultural Assets" at the Regional History Museum – Sofia contains 1300 documentation folders of buildings, bridges and monuments located in the centеr of the city. Currently, all folders have their own digital copies - text in MS Word file and original old photos, mainly from the 70s and 80s of the last century, with corresponding image from current time. Plans and sketches of the surrounding landscape are attached as well. However, the focus of the digital unit is not on the architectural ensemble and urban planning, but for the historical reference for the person or event related to the particular monument. Through various methods of work, an attempt was made to preserve part of the history of the city - preserving its memory in digital format. Тhey consisted digitalization of the paper folder, collecting information in two various ways: at the libraries, archives and in the field – by describing and photographing the monument.

Ook adviseert BuRO in de wetgeving rauwe room en colostrum mee te nemen. En de wetgeving te baseren op relevante gevaren en een maximale grenswaarde voor het kiemgetal. De directie Voeding, Gezondheidsbeschermingen en Preventie van het ministerie van VWS heeft BuRO daarop om een aanvullende data-analyse gevraagd van kiemgetalbepalingen van rauwe melk die beschikbaar zijn vanuit toezicht. Dit ter ondersteuning bij de aanpassing van de huidige wetgeving met betrekking tot het kiemgetal voor rauwe consumptiemelk zoals die momenteel in het Warenwetbesluit Hygiëne van Levensmiddelen is opgenomen. In this study, we examine how co-creation processes/activities for local development have been impacted by COVID-19 through a combination of seven semi-structured interviews with members of the project teams and key stakeholders of the seven participating municipalities, 23 persons in total, and an e-survey to stakeholders in the regions with 25 participants. The aim was to find out the experience of co-creation and open social innovation during the pandemic, but also to look forward and identify potential good practices as well as challenges to be faced when the work continues. Therefore, this report is focusing on lessons learned and recommendations just as much as on the experience. This study is conducted under the framework of the URBACT action planning network IoTXchange. Within the frame of the project the network of European partners designed digitalization action plans based on Internet of Things (IoT) solutions to increase the quality of life in small and medium sized EU cities. The plans were developed through various co-creative practices engaging local stakeholders, as well as small-scale pilots aimed at demonstrating the technologies. Beside this, a number of other projects and initiatives were launched by the partners during and after the project period, based on the IoTXchange development process but not formally within the project.

This toolkit user-guide provides a user-friendly introduction to implementing the satellite-based analysis and random forest modelling to identify the key bio-geographical variables that influence mosquito distributions and abundance within the context of malaria studies. It is intended to be a resource for users with limited prior knowledge of analysis of this nature and presents step-by-step instructions for users to perform predictive modelling of mosquito distributions; sample datasets and analysis scripts are provided. This guide uses three software packages, Google Earth Engine, R (with RStudio) and QGIS for data pre-processing, modelling and visualisation, all of which are cost-free for non-commercial use. Example scripts are provided to perform data processing and analysis in both Google Earth Engine (GEE) and R, and although these scripts are designed to automate the analysis to a large degree, they are currently optimised for the study area and time period used in the worked example for Lodja, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Users are free to adapt and build on this to suit their own purposes. By following the instructions, the user will learn to implement these methods. This will provide a basis for users to apply these methods to different datasets, areas and scenarios of their choosing.
