    The Mesopotamian marshes, a unique and ecologically important wetland ecosystem, have experienced significant changes over the past five decades due to various anthropogenic interventions and natural processes. This thesis focuses on analyzing the temporal dynamics and spatial extent of the marshlands using a combination of satellite imagery and remote sensing techniques. The study utilizes a time series of satellite images spanning from 1972 to 2023, providing a comprehensive understanding of the marshes' evolution. The imagery is processed using advanced techniques, including mosaic creation, band extraction, index calculation, and land cover classification. Various indices, such as NDVI, NDWI, NDMI, and MNDWI, are employed to capture the vegetation density, water content, and moisture conditions within the marshes. The classification results reveal significant changes in the marshes' extent and composition over time. The analysis highlights the gradual decline of the marshes from the 1980s, exacerbated by the Iraq-Iran war in the 1980s and subsequent drainage projects. However, a positive trend of restoration is observed from 2014 to 2023, indicating successful conservation efforts. The findings of this study have significant implications for the management and conservation of the Mesopotamian marshes. The integration of satellite imagery, indices, and classification techniques offers a powerful tool for monitoring and assessing the ecosystem's health and identifying key areas for restoration. The study underscores the importance of preserving wetland ecosystems, as they provide essential habitats for diverse flora and fauna, support local communities, and contribute to regional biodiversity and ecological balance. Overall, this thesis contributes to the broader understanding of the Mesopotamian marshes' dynamics and provides valuable insights for policymakers, environmentalists, and researchers working towards the sustainable management and restoration of wetland ecosystems. Τα έλη της Μεσοποταμίας, ένα μοναδικό και οικολογικά σημαντικό υγροτοπικό οικοσύστημα, έχουν υποστεί σημαντικές αλλαγές τις τελευταίες πέντε δεκαετίες λόγω διαφόρων ανθρωπογενών παρεμβάσεων και φυσικών διεργασιών. Η παρούσα πτυχιακή επικεντρώνεται στην ανάλυση της διαχρονικής δυναμικής και της χωρικής έκτασης των ελών χρησιμοποιώντας ένα συνδυασμό δορυφορικών εικόνων και τεχνικών τηλεπισκόπησης. Η μελέτη χρησιμοποιεί μια χρονοσειρά δορυφορικών εικόνων που καλύπτει το χρονικό διάστημα από το 1972 έως το 2023, παρέχοντας μια ολοκληρωμένη κατανόηση της εξέλιξης των ελών. Η επεξεργασία των εικόνων γίνεται με τη χρήση προηγμένων τεχνικών, συμπεριλαμβανομένης της δημιουργίας μωσαϊκού, της εξαγωγής ζωνών, του υπολογισμού δεικτών και της ταξινόμησης της κάλυψης γης. Χρησιμοποιούνται τέσσερις δείκτες, ο NDVI, ο NDWI, ο NDMI και ο MNDWI, για να αποτυπωθούν η πυκνότητα της βλάστησης, η περιεκτικότητα σε νερό και οι συνθήκες υγρασίας εντός των ελών. Τα αποτελέσματα της ταξινόμησης αποκαλύπτουν σημαντικές αλλαγές στην έκταση και τη σύνθεση των ελών με την πάροδο του χρόνου. Η ανάλυση αναδεικνύει τη σταδιακή μείωση των ελών από τη δεκαετία του 1980, η οποία επιδεινώθηκε από τον πόλεμο Ιράκ-Ιράν τη δεκαετία του 1980 και τα επακόλουθα έργα αποξήρανσης. Ωστόσο, παρατηρείται μια θετική τάση αποκατάστασης από το 2014 έως το 2023, γεγονός που υποδηλώνει επιτυχείς προσπάθειες διατήρησης. Τα ευρήματα της παρούσας μελέτης έχουν σημαντικές επιπτώσεις για τη διαχείριση και τη διατήρηση των ελών της Μεσοποταμίας. Η ενσωμάτωση δορυφορικών εικόνων, δεικτών και τεχνικών ταξινόμησης προσφέρει ένα ισχυρό εργαλείο για την παρακολούθηση και την αξιολόγηση της υγείας του οικοσυστήματος και τον εντοπισμό βασικών περιοχών για αποκατάσταση. Η μελέτη υπογραμμίζει τη σημασία της διατήρησης των υγροτοπικών οικοσυστημάτων, καθώς παρέχουν βασικούς βιότοπους για ποικίλη χλωρίδα και πανίδα, στηρίζουν τις τοπικές κοινότητες και συμβάλλουν στην περιφερειακή βιοποικιλότητα και οικολογική ισορροπία. Συνοπτικά, η παρούσα πτυχιακή συμβάλλει στην ευρύτερη κατανόηση της δυναμικής των ελών της Μεσοποταμίας και παρέχει πολύτιμες πληροφορίες για τους υπεύθυνους χάραξης πολιτικής, τους περιβαλλοντολόγους και τους ερευνητές που εργάζονται για τη βιώσιμη διαχείριση και αποκατάσταση των υγροτοπικών οικοσυστημάτων. During the last decades, there has been an increasing number of examples of drone applications in many areas of human activity such as geoinformatics, research, rescue, defence ets. This innovation easily affected the agricultural sector. It is providing it a completely new framework and equipping it with tools that empower and enable it to face the challenges of modern reality. The purpose of this study is, through the literature review, is to present applications of UAVs adopted by Precision Agriculture. First there is a brief reference to the history of drones. Their applications which are developed in agriculture as well as in greenhouses also are referred. The study continues to present the EU policy on the quality of agricultural products and how this policy is related to Precision Agriculture. It is also negotiating restrictions arising from the use of drones’ legislation as well as challenges that farmers may face using them. Finally, reference is made to examples of countries that already intergraded UAVs. A brief reference is made to Cyprus too as literature is very poor on this subject. The last chapter deals with conclusions drawn from the literature review. The main conclusion that emerges from this paper is that the agricultural communities and in general all those involved in the field of agricultural production worldwide, in their effort for modernization include tools and ICT technologies that strengthen decisionmaking processes for the benefit of their businesses. Drones seem to be gaining a very important place as tools in what we call precision agriculture despite all the limitations and challenges that exist. Τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες υπήρξε πρωτοφανής αύξηση των εφαρμογών με μη επανδρωμένα αεροσκάφη (ΜΕΑ), σε διάφορους τομείς όπως η γεωπληροφορική, έρευνα και διάσωση, άμυνα κλπ. Αυτή η καινοτομία ήταν φυσικό να εισβάλει και στον τομέα της γεωργίας δίνοντας της ένα εντελώς καινούριο πλαίσιο με εργαλεία που την ενδυναμώνουν και της δίνουν την δυνατότητα να αντιμετωπίσει τις προκλήσεις της σύγχρονης πραγματικότητας. Σκοπός αυτής της εργασίας είναι μέσα από την ανασκόπηση της βιβλιογραφίας να παρουσιάσει εφαρμογές των ΜΕΑ που υιοθετούνται από την Γεωργία Ακριβείας. Γίνεται αρχικά μια σύντομη αναφορά στην ιστορία των ΜΕΑ (drones) και αναπτύσσονται στην συνέχεια οι εφαρμογές τους στην Γεωργία καθώς και στα Θερμοκήπια. Παρουσιάζεται επίσης η πολιτική της ΕΕ για την ποιότητα των αγροτικών προϊόντων και πώς αυτή η πολιτική σχετίζεται με την Γεωργία Ακριβείας. Ακολούθως διαπραγματεύεται περιορισμούς που προκύπτουν από την νομοθεσία χρήσης των ΜΕΑ καθώς και προκλήσεις που πιθανόν να αντιμετωπίζουν οι γεωργοί στην χρήση των ΜΕΑ. Τέλος γίνεται αναφορά σε παραδείγματα χωρών που έχουν ήδη εντάξει τα ΜΕΑ και σύντομη αναφορά και στην Κύπρο. Το τελευταίο κεφάλαιο αφορά σε συμπεράσματα που προκύπτουν μέσα από την ανασκόπηση της βιβλιογραφίας. Το κυριότερο συμπέρασμα που προκύπτει από αυτήν την εργασία είναι ότι οι γεωργικές κοινότητες και γενικότερα όλοι όσοι ασχολούνται με τον τομέα της αγροτικής παραγωγής παγκοσμίως, στην προσπάθειά τους για εκσυγχρονισμό εντάσσουν στην φαρέτρα τους εργαλεία και τεχνολογίες οι οποίες ενδυναμώνουν τις διαδικασίες λήψης αποφάσεων προς όφελος των επιχειρήσεών τους. Τα ΜΕΑ, διαθέτουν τέτοιες εφαρμογές και φαίνεται να κερδίζουν μια πολύ σημαντική θέση ως εργαλεία σε αυτό που ονομάζουμε Γεωργίας Ακριβείας παρ΄ όλους τους περιορισμούς και τις προκλήσεις που υπάρχουν. Last decade, there is a rapid growth in the development of the technology sector, as an aftermath of seeking solutions on technical problems. The use of technology, seen through this research, also applies to the digitization of traditional embroideries. Specifically, this can be done with the use of a laser cutter machine. The importance of this new technology, lies in the fact that the information is accurately scanned, so it can be then used for storing, processing or reprinting. The purpose of this research is the digitization of traditional embroideries, using a laser cutter. Secondly, the purpose is the propulsion of Cyprus culture and the manufacture of a final dressing using digital media. In order to carry out this work, a careful observation has been made of how wearers are made and the materials are used. A survey of the woven textiles of Cyprus followed, to create some patterns that arise in particular from the Lefkaritika and Foithkiotika textiles of Cyprus. Using the illustrator program, a digital recreation of the patterns mentioned and printing in different fabrics was made in order to decide the most appropriate and durable fabric. The finding of this work has shown that replication of particular patterns is possible in felt and leatherette. Leatherette though, has been characterized as the most suitable fabric, because it can be found in many applications. Τα τελευταία χρόνια παρατηρείται ραγδαία ανάπτυξη στο τομέα της τεχνολογίας, ως επακόλουθο αναζήτησης λύσεων σε τεχνικά προβλήματα. Η χρήση της τεχνολογίας, φαίνεται μέσα από αυτή την έρευνα να έχει εφαρμογή και στην ψηφιοποίηση παραδοσιακών κεντημάτων. Συγκεκριμένα, είναι ένας νέος τρόπο εφαρμογής με την χρήση μηχανήματος laser cutter. Η σημαντικότητα αυτής της τεχνολογίας έγκειται στο ότι οι πληροφορίες καταγράφονται με ακρίβεια, με απώτερο σκοπό την αποθήκευση, επεξεργασία και ανατύπωση. Σκοπός της παρούσας έρευνας, είναι η ψηφιοποίηση παραδοσιακών κεντημάτων με την χρήση laser cutter. Δευτερεύοντος, σκοπός είναι η προώθηση της κυπριακής κουλτούρας, καθώς επίσης και η δημιουργία τελικής ενδυμασίας μέσω των ψηφιακών μέσων. Για τη διεκπεραίωση της παρούσας εργασίας, χρειάστηκε ενδελεχής παρατήρηση στον τρόπο παρασκευής υφαντών και τη υλικά χρησιμοποιούνται. Ακολούθησε μια έρευνα για τα διάφορα υφαντά της Κύπρου για να δημιουργηθούν κάποια μοτίβα που προκύπτουν, συγκεκριμένα από τα λευκαρίτικα και φιθκιώτικα υφαντά της Κύπρου. Έπειτα, με την χρήση προγράμματος illustrator έγινε η ψηφιακή δημιουργία των πιο πάνω μοτίβων και εκτύπωση τους σε διάφορα υφάσματα για να αποφασιστεί το καταλληλότερο ύφασμα ως προς την ανθεκτικότητα τους. Τα ευρήματα αυτής της εργασίας έδειξαν ότι η ανατύπωση συγκεκριμένων μοτίβων μπορεί να γίνει σε τσόχα και δερματίνη. Η δερματίνη χαρακτηρίσθηκε όμως ως καταλληλότερο ύφασμα για το λόγο ότι μπορεί να βρεθεί σε περισσότερες εφαρμογές Completed

    Authors: Nzembayie, Kisito Futonge;

    Digitisation has ushered in a new era of value creation where cross border data flows generate more economic value than traditional flows of goods. The powerful new combination of digital and traditional forms of innovation has seen several new industries branded with a ‘tech’ suffix. In the education technology sector (EdTech), which is the industry context of this research, digitisation is driving double-digit growth into a projected $240 billion industry by 2021. Yet, despite its contemporary significance, the field of entrepreneurship has paid little attention to the phenomenon of digital entrepreneurship. As several scholars observe, digitisation challenges core organising axioms of entrepreneurship, with significant implications for the new venture creation process in new sectors such as EdTech. New venture creation no longer appears to follow discrete and linear models of innovation, as spatial and temporal boundaries get compressed. Given the paradigmatic shift, this study investigates three interrelated themes. Firstly, it seeks to determine how a Pure Digital Entrepreneurship (PDE) process develops over time; and more importantly, how the journey challenges extant assumptions of the entrepreneurial process. Secondly, it strives to identify and theorise the deep structures which underlie the PDE process through mechanism-based explanations. Consequently, the study also seeks to determine the causal pathways and enablers which overtly or covertly interrelate to power new venture emergence and performance. Thirdly, it aims to offer practical guidelines for nurturing the growth of PDE ventures, and for the development of supportive ecosystems. To meet the stated objectives, this study utilises an Insider Action Research (IAR) approach to inquiry, which incorporates reflective practice, collaborative inquiry and design research for third-person knowledge production. This three-pronged approach to inquiry allows for the enactment of a PDE journey in real-time, while acquiring a holistic narrative in the ‘swampy lowlands’ of new venture creation. The findings indicate that the PDE process is differentiated by the centrality of digital artifacts in new venture ideas, which in turn result in less-bounded processes that deliver temporal efficiencies – hence, the shorter new venture creation processes than in traditional forms of entrepreneurship. Further, PDE action is defined by two interrelated events – digital product development and digital growth marketing. These events are characterised by the constant forking, merging and termination of diverse activities. Secondly, concurrent enactment and piecemeal co-creation were found to be consequential mechanisms driving temporal efficiencies in digital product development. Meanwhile, data-driven operation and flexibility combine in digital growth marketing, to form higher order mechanisms which considerably reduce the levels of task-specific and outcome uncertainties. Finally, the study finds that digital growth marketing is differentiated from traditional marketing by the critical role of algorithmic agencies in their capacity as gatekeepers. Thus, unlike traditional marketing, which emphasises customer sovereignty, digital growth marketing involves a dual focus on the needs of human and algorithmic stakeholders. Based on the findings, this research develops a pragmatic model of pure digital new venture creation and suggests critical policy guidelines for nurturing the growth of PDE ventures and ecosystems.

    Authors: Pohl, Vivien;

    Air quality monitoring in Ireland is under the jurisdiction of the Environmental Protection Agency in compliance with the Gothenburg Protocol, EU/national legislation, and the National Clean Air Strategy. Particulate Matter (PM) has been acknowledged as a key atmospheric pollutant, with serious public health impacts and no safe threshold of exposure in place to-date. Ammonia (NH3) emissions are linked to the secondary production of PM through atmospheric reactions occurring with acidic atmospheric components such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and hydrochloric acid. These reactions result in the formation of ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate and ammonium chloride, among others. More than 95% of NH3 emissions occurring in Ireland arise from agriculture, with minor contributions from transport and natural sources. This study aims to advance knowledge and understanding of the role of arable agricultural practices and management in NH3 enrichment and aid in mapping of the sources of PM production. The nature and contribution of NH3 in the atmosphere to secondary PM in defined arable settings will be examined to provide greater insight into system dynamics facilitating emission control and mitigation measures to be implemented. This will be achieved through a review of existing literature and database assessment combined with the application of a localised field monitoring network in arable agricultural settings. As Ireland currently has no active atmospheric NH3 monitoring in place, reported emission levels can prove to be imprecise. And lead to over- and under-estimation of NH3 gas emissions to the atmosphere from sources such as agriculture. By establishing localized monitoring stations at emission sources, the precision of the estimated NH3 concentrations in the atmosphere can be improved. This can also lead to improved understanding of PM dynamics and formation. This will be achieved by using a combination of active and passive sampling instruments for in-field atmospheric sample collection, which will then be analysed in the laboratory using ion chromatography. Additionally, to gain a fuller understanding of the dynamics of an agricultural system, background monitoring of soil properties and water nutrient enrichment will also be carried out. The output of this project will build on existing theories of NH3, and PM dynamics established by previous research, and combine these with field data, including agricultural practices, NH3 source production and PM generation, soil and water enrichment and quality background monitoring to synthesise a new mechanistic paradigm. This new understanding will be operationalised through the development of a conceptual model of NH3 dynamics and PM generation, and agri-ecological interactions known as Conceptual Ammonia-aeroSol bIOspheric Simulation (CASIOS). The model builds on a Drivers, Pressures, State, Impacts, Responses framework, with an additional attribute introduced under the term ‘Concept’ which includes environmental conditions previously not considered under this paradigm.

    The science of remote sensing is undoubtedly an integral part of the evolution of technology using satellite data. It provides inexhaustible capabilities and a variety of applications providing solutions to various problems related to data collection from a distance and also to a large extent. Its applications include the study of land use changes, the mapping of areas, the study of burned areas and the study of meteorological phenomena. With the development of technology, the use of satellite data is now common since the advantages they give are many and at the same time they have the ability to cover many areas without limits or restrictions. They also allow you to monitor the earth's surface to observe various changes. This dissertation discusses, processes and analyzes the use of various vegetation indices using specific satellite data. The satellite data used was drawn from the Landsat 8 satellite, which was launched in February 2013 and was launched in May of the same year. The aim of the study is the bibliographic review of the use of vegetation indices which aim to monitor and study areas of interest by analyzing the final results. Through research, various applications are identified that combine the vegetation indices with the data of Landsat 8. Finally, these applications are commented on and explained, drawing some basic conclusions. This dissertation investigates the capabilities of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the monitoring of public green spaces of a Municipality or a Community, as well as in the planning of their maintenance. Specifically, the dissertation begins with a literature review of similar GIS applications and uses the main findings to start the design of a GIS that, on the one hand, will facilitate the monitoring and maintenance of open green spaces and, on the other hand, will be usable by non-specialists in GIS. In line with the above goals, the final application combined: a) ArcGIS Collector, which was used to ease the surveys of green open spaces, as it can include predefined fields with default entries, b) ArcGIS Online, which was used as a linkage between ArcGIS Collector and ArcMap, c) Microsoft Excel, which provides a convenient way for the creation and update of databases by non-specialised staff, and d) ArcMap, which was used to connect the above databases with the spatial geometry of the open green spaces and, also, to produce the maps that will allow the sound planning of maintenance tasks. For application purposes, the Parish of Geroskipou was selected as a case study, as it includes 160 public green spaces belonging to different types. Σκοπός της παρούσας πτυχιακής εργασίας είναι η διερεύνηση των δυνατοτήτων των Συστημάτων Γεωγραφικών Πληροφοριών (GIS) στην αποτύπωση των δημόσιων χώρων πρασίνου ενός Δήμου ή μίας Κοινότητας για σκοπούς παρακολούθησης και προγραμματισμού των εργασιών συντήρησής τους. Συγκεκριμένα, η πτυχιακή εργασία πραγματοποιεί βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση παρόμοιων εφαρμογών GIS και, ακολούθως, θέτει ως στόχο της την υλοποίηση σχετικής υποδομής γεωχωρικών δεδομένων, η οποία, αφενός διευκολύνει τις εργασίες παρακολούθησης και προγραμματισμού και, αφετέρου, επιτρέπει τη χρήση της από όσο το δυνατόν λιγότερο ειδικευμένο ανθρώπινο δυναμικό. Με βάση τον παραπάνω στόχο, δημιουργήθηκε η σχετική υποδομή, η οποία συνδυάζει: α) τη δυνατότητα διενέργειας πρωτογενών καταγραφών των χώρων πρασίνου με χρήση του λογισμικού ArcGIS Collector, το οποίο επιτρέπει τη χρήση πεδίων καταχώρησης με προεπιλεγμένες τιμές για διευκόλυνση της διαδικασίας καταγραφής, β) αυτοματοποιημένη εισαγωγή των πιο πάνω καταγραφών σε περιβάλλον web GIS με χρήση του λογισμικού ArcGIS Online, γ) δημιουργία βάσης δεδομένων στο λογισμικό Microsoft Excel για χρήση της από τους επιστάτες των χώρων πρασίνου, έχοντας ως στόχο την παρακολούθηση και ενημέρωση των εργασιών συντήρησης και, τέλος, δ) σύνδεση της βάσης δεδομένων με GIS και επεξεργασία 22 διαφορετικών χαρτών στο λογισμικό ArcMap, για σκοπούς παρακολούθησης και προγραμματισμού των εργασιών συντήρησης. Ως μελέτη περίπτωσης επιλέχθηκε η Ενορία Γεροσκήπου του ομώνυμου Δήμου, ο οποίος περιλαμβάνει 160 δημόσιους χώρους πρασίνου διαφόρων τύπων. Completed

    Authors: Adesi, Michael;

    The construction industry contributes significantly to the socio-economic development of nations through infrastructure development, and job creation culminating into the growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Quantity Surveying Professional Service Firms (QSPSFs) play a critical role in the construction industry by ensuring that projects are delivered within cost, required quality and duration by providing technical and knowledge-intensive services to clients, contractors and stakeholders. Irish QSPSFs are facing challenges such as tender price inflation, intense competition, a skills shortage and disruptive technology. These challenges coupled with the cyclicality of the sector create a turbulent business environment for Irish QSPSFs, yet there remains a paucity of empirical evidence pertaining to how strategic decisions are made by these firms. Strategic planning is critical to addressing the challenges confronting business organisations such as the Irish QSPSFs; however, to date strategic planning has focused to a greater extent on manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, consumer products and light manufacturing, whereas there remains limited empirical investigation within the construction industry. This study aims to address this gap by examining the strategic decision-making process of Irish QSPSFs operating in the changing environment of the construction industry. What sets the research apart is that a Dynamic Capabilities (DC) perspective has been used with focus on sensing; seizing; and transformation, culminating into its integration into the development of a strategic decision-making framework. This study is entrenched in the pragmatist philosophical stance with emphasis on the positivist and interpretivist position and adopts mixed method by using quantitative and qualitative approaches over two phases. The first phase involves a survey administered with support from the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) to 350 member practices whereby a single senior Quantity Surveyors (QS) in each practice was invited to participate. Seventy-two usable survey questionnaires completed by respondents were prepared for data analysis. The second phase of the research comprised of interview with ten chief executives or managing directors of Irish QSPSFs. The study found the most preferred strategic choice at the corporate level of QSPSFs as the expansion of services to new markets and sectors. At the business level, the investigation discovered the differentiation of services as the main strategic choice of QSPSFs. Furthermore, participation in strategic decision-making is very critical to the success of strategy formulation in organisations. This study identifies the factors that drive participation in strategic decision-making as the knowledge and competence of staff; personality traits; and the ability of people to make decision at the operational level of the organisation. The investigation also found that strategic change has occurred in QSPSFs over the past ten years. This strategic change is attributable to turbulent environmental conditions such as economic recession, in particular reference to the prolong economic recession 2008-2013. The investigation identified the specific strategic changes that occurred in QSPSFs as growth and expansion into new markets; agglomeration, and changes in the ownership and management structure. The negative and positive impacts of economic recession on QSPSFs have also been identified in this investigation. For instance, a radical shift in strategic response from being proactive to reactive; and self-preservation of ownership structure are the ii adverse effects of economic recession identified by the study while knowledge acquisition; and risk profiling for identification and capturing of opportunities are the positive impacts of economic recession. The study found significant statistical evidence to confirm a strong relationship between the turbulent business environment and the strategic decision-making process characteristics of QSPSFs. A strategic decision-making framework was developed on the basis of field work undertaken which was subsequently validated by respondent practices. The framework is the first of its kind pertaining to construction PSFs.

    Authors: Nzembayie, Kisito Futonge;

    Authors: Pohl, Vivien;

Completed

    The purpose of this study is to establish the use of the Technical Satellite Remote Sensing in relation to the Technical Geographical Information Systems GIS, in order subsoil structures to be discovered and more specifically in order to lead at the discovery of military subsoil repositories. Although, because that specific matter is still in the early stages of its research, this study will indicate the measurements procedure by the spectro-radiometry and the measurements processing that had been presented periodically. At first, measurements have been made in natural vegetation and then to barley which was nourished within an area of high interest. At the end of the measurement procedures, observations about the foliage growth and development have been stated as well as the research of vegetation indices NDVI and SAVI which have been made before and during the barley undergrowth. Namely, natural foliage and cultivation by creating charts circulation of vegetation indices in the area of interest. Indices were determined by the usage of Landsat 7 and Landsat 8 satellites. Αντικείμενο μελέτης της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η δυνατότητα χρήσης των τεχνικών της Δορυφορικής Τηλεπισκόπησης σε συνδυασμό με τη χρήση τεχνικών γεωγραφικών συστημάτων πληροφοριών (ΓΣΠ), για τον εντοπισμό υπεδάφιων κατασκευών και πιο συγκεκριμένα υπεδάφιων στρατιωτικών αποθηκών. Λόγω του ότι το συγκεκριμένο θέμα είναι ερευνητικό και βρίσκεται ακόμα στα πρώιμα στάδια μελέτης του, στη μελέτη αυτή παρουσιάζονται η διαδικασία λήψης μετρήσεων με φασματοραδιόμετρο στην περιοχή μελέτης, και η επεξεργασία των μετρήσεων που έχουν παρθεί ανά τακτά χρονικά διαστήματα. Οι μετρήσεις έγιναν σε φυσική βλάστηση και στη συνέχεια σε κριθάρι, το οποίο καλλιεργήθηκε στην περιοχή ενδιαφέροντος. Τέλος έγιναν παρατηρήσεις για την ανάπτυξη της καλλιέργειας, όπως επίσης και μελέτη των δεικτών βλάστησης NDVI και SAVI, πριν και μετά τη καλλιέργεια κριθαριού, δηλαδή της φυσικής βλάστησης και της καλλιέργειας, δημιουργώντας διαγράμματα κατανομής των δεικτών βλάστησης στην περιοχή ενδιαφέροντος. Οι δείκτες υπολογίστηκαν βάση των δορυφόρων Landsat7 ΕΤΜ+ και Landsat 8. Completed

    Authors: Adesi, Michael;
