    V diplomskem delu je podrobneje analizirana organizacija in izvedba transporta betonske mešanice v podjetju Rokava d.o.o. Organiziran prevoz je ključen, saj lahko le tako zmanjšamo stroške prevoznikom in uporabnikom prevoznih storitev. Betonska dejavnost predstavlja celoten proces betonskih mešanic od načrtovanja, proizvodnje, organizacije in izvedbe, do transporta in vgradnje. Diplomska naloga se začne z opisom sodobnih informacijskih rešitev pri upravljanju delovnega toka v podjetju. Moja vključenost v organizacijski proces me je prepričala, da je v podjetju še veliko prostora za izboljšanje organizacije dela in prevozov. V diplomski nalogi sem obširno preučila organizacijo dela in prevozov ter opredelila področja, ki jih je treba izboljšati. Poglobila sem se v pomen organizacije dela, njene cilje in učinke ter razložila dejavnike, ki vplivajo na organizacijo procesov. Čeprav izbrano podjetje uporablja napredno tehnologijo in je število zaposlenih majhno, se je pokazalo, da podjetje nima ustrezne programske podpore, zato sem raziskala pomen digitalizacije in različnih metodologij, kot so metoda 5s, 20 ključev, Kaizen, Uravnotežen sistem kazalnikov, Benchmarking in Six Sigma za izboljšanje organizacije. Na podlagi opravljene analize podjetja in njegove organizacije procesov sem predlagala več izboljšav z močnim poudarkom na digitalizaciji, izboljšani komunikaciji in implementaciji različnih metod za izboljšanje odnosov. Pred to raziskavo organizacija dela in prevozov v izbranem podjetju ni bila v celoti optimizirana za izpolnjevanje predvidenega namena, zato sem predlagala ustrezne spremembe organizacije transporta, s katerimi želim pomagati podjetju pri doseganju in preseganju vnaprej zastavljenih ciljev. In the thesis, the organization and implementation of the transport of concrete mix in the company Rokava d.o.o. is analyzed in more detail. Organized transport is key, because only in this way can we reduce costs for both carriers and users of transport services. Concrete activity is a broad concept that represents the entire process of concrete mixes from planning, production, organization and implementation, transportation and installation. The thesis begins with a description of the importance of modern information solutions in managing the work flow of the company itself. My involvement in the process itself led me to realize that there is still a lot of room for improvement in the organization of work and transportation in the company. In my diploma thesis, I extensively studied the organization of work and transport and identified the areas that need to be improved. I delved into the very meaning of work organization, its goals and resulting effects, and outlined the factors that influence the organization of processes itself. Despite the fact that the selected company uses advanced technology and has a small number of employees, it turned out that the company does not have adequate software support. As a result, I researched the importance of digitization and different methodologies such as the 5s method, 20 keys, Kaizen, Balanced Scorecard, Benchmarking and Six Sigma for organizational improvement. Based on the analysis of the company and its organization of processes, I proposed several improvements with a strong emphasis on digitization, improved communication and the implementation of various methods for nurturing better relationships. Prior to this research, the organization of work and transportation in the selected company was not fully optimized to fulfill the intended purpose. In light of this, I have proposed appropriate changes to the organization of transport, with which I want to help the company achieve and exceed previously set goals.

    El proyecto de grado planteado pone en evidencia el déficit de formación para el trabajo que poseen los habitantes de la periferia de Cali, donde muchos de estos, principalmente jóvenes, viven en un entorno donde los índices de pobreza y violencia son altísimos y a su vez la falta de educación y espacios destinados a esta son escasos, impidiendo que estos, culminen sus estudios y no puedan acceder a empleos de mejor calidad. Es por esto que, a través de un proyecto arquitectónico de índole social, se busca diseñar un centro de formación enfocado en la agricultura, en el municipio de Cali, equipado con espacios para el aprendizaje agrícola como talleres, aulas y laboratorios, que favorezcan a habitantes jóvenes de la comuna 21, los cuales les permitan adquirir conocimiento sobre temas agrícolas y los puedan poner en práctica con huertos urbanos que den pie y generen un entorno comercial en la zona. The proposed degree project highlights the lack of training for work that the inhabitants of the periphery of Cali have, where many of them, mainly young people, live in an environment where the rates of poverty and violence are very high and at the same time the lack of education and spaces dedicated to it are scarce, preventing them from completing their studies and not being able to access better quality jobs.     Wheat (Triticum aestivum) is a crop that dominates the diets of about 35% of the world's human population. But wheat yields can be severely affected by drought. Therefore, in this experiment, root exudation of winter wheat was compared to find out how exudation changes during drought stress. This was done by using control plants that were compared to plants that experienced 8 days of drought and subsequently, 3 days of rewetting. Moreover, it was explored which one of two wheat genotypes, Capo or Aristaro, is better adapted to drought by measuring plant physiology and if beneficial rhizosphere microorganisms could help alleviate drought in wheat. Exudations were analysed using a photometer. It was found that drought and rewetting treatment influenced shoot dry weight, shoot water content, relative chlorophyll, as well as exuded phenols, sugars and amino acids. Aristaro was found to be more drought tolerant, because Aristaro plants had higher and more stable shoot water content, lower non-photochemical quenching (NPQ(T)), and exuded more phenols and amino acids, which could help recruit plant-growth promoting rhizobacteria. However, Capo might be able to avoid drought through early maturity and can therefore be used in regions where drought occurs later in the year. The implications of this experiment are therefore useful for improving wheats resilience to drought and food security with use of microorganisms.

    Södra Gotland (Storsudret) är ett av de mest utsatta områdena i Sverige när det kommer till torka under somrarna. Trots stora mängder nederbörd har jordbrukare problem med bevattning då öns geologi påverkar lagringen av vatten i form av grundvatten negativt. Vilket beror på att berggrunden består främst av kalk, märgel och märgelsten. Dålig tillgång till vatten kombinerat med långa och varma somrar har medfört att skörden minskat markant under de senaste åren. Bevattningstekniker som används i dagsläget är inte bra på att utnyttja vatten på ett hållbart och effektivt sätt. Dessutom har kostnaderna ökat för många jordbrukare på Gotland med avseende på de ökande elpriserna. Bevattning kräver el och vissa bönder har exempelvis inte tillgång till el vid sina åkrar och måste därmed dra el vilket ökar kostnaderna markant. Behovet av mer resurseffektiva och hållbara bevattningstekniker är stort och något som behöver undersökas mer djupgående. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka ifall ett automatiserat bevattningssystem som drivs av solenergi faktiskt är möjligt att implementera. Detta utifrån olika kriterier såsom kostnad, energianvändning, skördemängd, klimatpåverkan och vattenanvändning. Därefter jämföra mot ett mer konventionellt system som används i dagsläget och därmed undersöka vilka skillnader det finns. Det var två system som valdes i studien. System 1 var ett potentiellt automatiserad rampbevattningssystem och system 2 ett konventionellt rampbevattningssystem. Båda systemen sattes in i verklighetsbaserade scenario (en åker i södra Gotland) för att få en mer realistisk överblick. Därefter användes en multikriterieanalys för att jämföra båda systemen mot varandra utifrån valda kriterier. Sist av allt användes en SWOT-analys för att sammanknyta all resultat som togs fram i studien. Resultatet visade att det är i teorin möjligt att bygga ett helt automatiserat bevattningssystem som drivs av solenergi och att det finns både positiva och negativa delar med systemet jämfört mot en konventionell rambevattning. Det potentiella systemet har exempelvis både en högre kostnad som 1,1 gånger högre, samt en högre energianvändning per hektar, cirka 5 gånger högre jämfört med ett konventionellt system. Dock presterade det potentiella systemet bättre jämfört mot ett konventionellt system med avseende på klimatpåverkan som var 10 gånger lägre jämfört med ett konventionellt system. SWOT sammanställningen visade också att intresset för automatiserade bevattningssystem är låg bland jordbrukare delvis på grund av att systemen inte är anpassade till svenska förhållanden, samt den höga investeringskostnaden. Därav krävs det att fler aktörer blir involveras och kunskapen sprids för att öka etableringen av automatiserade bevattningssystem på södra Gotland (Storsudret) samt resten av Sverige. The southern part of Gotland (Storsudret) is one of the most exposed areas in Sweden when it comes to drought during the summers. Despite large amounts of rainfall, farmers have problems with irrigation as the island’s geology negatively affects the storage of water in the form of groundwater. Poor access to water combined with long and hot summers has meant that the harvest has decreased significantly in recent years. Irrigation techniques used today are not good at using water sustainably and efficiently. In addition, costs have increased for many farmers in Gotland concerning the increasing electricity prices. Irrigation requires electricity and some farmers, for example, do not have access to electricity in their fields and thus have to get electricity, which increases costs significantly. The need for more resource-efficient and sustainable irrigation techniques is great and something that needs to be investigated in more depth. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether an automated irrigation system powered by solar energy is realistically possible to implement. This was based on various criteria such as cost, energy requirements, yield, etc., and then compare against a more conventional system that is currently used and thus examines what differences there are. Two systems were chosen in the study. System one was a potentially automated irrigation system and system two was a conventional ramp irrigation system. Both systems were put into a reality-based scenarios (a field in southern Gotland) to get a more realistic overview. Multi-criteria analysis was then used to compare both systems against each other based on selected criterias. Afterward, a SWOT analysis was also carried out to summarize all the results that were produced in the study. The result showed that it is theoretically possible to build a fully automated irrigation system powered by solar energy and that there are both positive and negative parts to the system com- pared to conventional ramp irrigation. The potential system has, for example, both a higher cost which was 1.1 times higher, and a higher energy requirement per hectare which was 5 times higher compared to a conventional system. However, the potential system performed better compared to a conventional system concerning climate impact which was 10 times lower compared to a conven- tional system. The SWOT summarize also showed that interest in automated irrigation systems was low among farmers partly due to the systems not being adapted to Swedish conditions and the large investment cost.     Previous research indicates that improving digital government services may contribute to the reduction of corruption. This study seeks to deepen the knowledge of this suggested causal link in several ways. Firstly, it adds nuance by examining the effects of two distinct sub-types of digital government services on specifically petty corruption. Secondly, it explores whether impacts vary by corruption systemicity level, which has previously been argued to to affect the effectiveness of certain anti-corruption measures. Using a theoretical framework built on economics of crime theory, I posit that the anti-petty corruption impact of digital government services varies between different service sub-types and between more and less systemically corrupt states. Analyzing hitherto unused global cross-country data for the year 2013, using mainly OLS-models, it is found that informational digital government services constitute effective anti-corruption measures in all settings. Transactional digital government services, on the other hand, are not found to have the same uniform reductive impact in all settings explored.

    Trenutni sistem v avtošolah temelji na uporabi evidenčnih kartončkov vožnje v fizični obliki in časovno potratnem dogovarjanju za termine voženj. V diplomski nalogi je bil razvit informacijski sistem, ki digitalizira določene segmente delovanja avtošol in s tem močno olajša proces pridobivanja vozniškega dovoljenja. Uporaba informacijskega sistema prihrani veliko časa vsem kandidatom, ki želijo pridobiti vozniški izpit, ter tudi inštruktorjem, ki se morajo v nasprotnem primeru z vsakim kandidatom individualno dogovarjati za termine vožnje. The current system in driving schools is based on the use of physical record sheets of driving and time-consuming arranging of driving appointments. In the thesis, an information system was developed that digitises certain segments of the driving school operation and thus greatly facilitates the process of obtaining a driving licence. The use of the information system saves a lot of time for all prospective drivers who wish to obtain a driving licence, as well as for the instructors who otherwise have to arrange driving appointments individually with each prospective driver.

    Diplomsko delo se osredotoča na širši pregled protokola MQTT in implementacijo učinkovitega posrednika. Pregled vključuje osnovne vidike protokola kot struktura paketov, bistvene funkcije in varnostne ukrepe. Primerjava z drugimi komunikacijskimi protokoli kaže odlike in slabosti protokola MQTT v različnih omrežnih scenarijih. Temeljna usmeritev je na oblikovanju, implementaciji in vrednotenju učinkovitosti posrednika MQTT, ki je prilagojen vsem vrstam aplikacij. Diplomsko delo vsebuje tudi diskusijo o pomembnih komponentah, zagotavljanju dobre učinkovitosti preko izbire pravilnih podatkovnih struktur ter o optimiziranju algoritmov za učinkovito obdelavo podatkov. Poglavje o implementaciji razloži izbiro programskega jezika Go in opiše glavne dele kode, ki so bistvenega pomena pri zagotavljanju učinkovitega procesiranja sporočil. Zaključek diplomskega dela je sestavljen iz primerjave učinkovitosti implementiranega posrednika in drugih posrednikov, ki so trenutno na trgu. The focus of the following thesis is an overview of the MQTT protocol and the implementation of a well-performing broker. It covers rudimentary aspects of MQTT such as packet structure, essential features and security measures. A comparative analysis with other communication protocols shows the strengths and weaknesses of MQTT in various IoT scenarios. The central focus is on the design, implementation, and performance evaluation of an MQTT broker tailored for all applications. Within the thesis, a discussion is made on important components, ensuring good performance by selecting the right data structures and on optimizing algorithms for efficient data handling and processing. The section on implementation explains the reasoning behind choosing the Go programming language and describes the essential sections of code that are crucial for ensuring efficient message processing. The thesis concludes with the comparison of the efficiency of the implemented broker and the brokers available on the market.

    El proceso evolutivo en materia presupuestal pública desde la promulgación de la Constitución Política de Colombia en el año de 1991 hasta el día de hoy, anexado a los múltiples desarrollos tecnológicos globales despliega un panorama amplio de posibilidades de transformación digital en el estado colombiano. En el objetivo de desarrollar una transformación digital que genere una mejora y eficiencia del servicio público en el ejercicio presupuestal de las entidades territoriales en pro de mayores beneficios a la ciudadanía como usuario final; el presente trabajo propone una estructura aplicable que realiza una integración entre la inteligencia de negocios y el ámbito presupuestal del orden territorial colombiano como instrumento de análisis, seguimiento y control de la gestión presupuestal de ingresos y gastos. De igual forma se configuran diferentes elementos presupuestales de las entidades territoriales del sector público colombiano y las tecnologías disponibles en pro de la toma de mejores decisiones futuras basadas en información relevante para ser consumida por todos los actores de interés como la ciudadanía, la gerencia pública en todo el territorio nacional y cualquier persona que busque el análisis de la información en aras del entendimiento de la gestión presupuestal de ingresos y gastos con un enfoque de objetividad y eficiencia del servicio estatal en una sociedad como la colombiana que cada vez más se encuentra conectada con el mundo. The evolutionary process in public budgeting matters since the promulgation of the Political Constitution of Colombia in 1991 to the present day, annexed to the multiple global technological developments, unfolds a broad panorama of possibilities for digital transformation in the Colombian state. In the aim of developing a digital transformation that generates an improvement and efficiency of the public service in the budgetary exercise of territorial entities in favor of greater benefits to citizens as end users; This paper proposes an applicable structure that integrates business intelligence and the budgetary scope of the Colombian territorial order as an instrument for analysis, monitoring and control of the budget management of income and expenses. In the same way, different budgetary elements of the territorial entities of the Colombian public sector and the available technologies are configured in favor of making better future decisions based on relevant information to be consumed by all stakeholders such as citizens, public management throughout the national territory and anyone who seeks the analysis of information for the sake of understanding the budget management of income and expenses with a focus on objectivity and efficiency of state service in a society like Colombia's, which is increasingly connected to the world. De la même manière, les différents éléments budgétaires des entités territoriales du secteur public colombien et les technologies disponibles sont configurés en faveur de la prise de meilleures décisions futures basées sur des informations pertinentes à consommer par tous les acteurs d’intérêt tels que les citoyens, la gestion publique sur tout le territoire national et toute personne qui cherche à analyser l’information afin de comprendre la gestion budgétaire des revenus et des dépenses en mettant l’accent sur l’objectivité et l’efficacité du service de l’État dans une société comme celle de la Colombie, qui est de plus en plus connectée au monde.

    V diplomskem delu je podrobneje analizirana organizacija in izvedba transporta betonske mešanice v podjetju Rokava d.o.o. Organiziran prevoz je ključen, saj lahko le tako zmanjšamo stroške prevoznikom in uporabnikom prevoznih storitev. Betonska dejavnost predstavlja celoten proces betonskih mešanic od načrtovanja, proizvodnje, organizacije in izvedbe, do transporta in vgradnje. Diplomska naloga se začne z opisom sodobnih informacijskih rešitev pri upravljanju delovnega toka v podjetju. Moja vključenost v organizacijski proces me je prepričala, da je v podjetju še veliko prostora za izboljšanje organizacije dela in prevozov. V diplomski nalogi sem obširno preučila organizacijo dela in prevozov ter opredelila področja, ki jih je treba izboljšati. Poglobila sem se v pomen organizacije dela, njene cilje in učinke ter razložila dejavnike, ki vplivajo na organizacijo procesov. Čeprav izbrano podjetje uporablja napredno tehnologijo in je število zaposlenih majhno, se je pokazalo, da podjetje nima ustrezne programske podpore, zato sem raziskala pomen digitalizacije in različnih metodologij, kot so metoda 5s, 20 ključev, Kaizen, Uravnotežen sistem kazalnikov, Benchmarking in Six Sigma za izboljšanje organizacije. Na podlagi opravljene analize podjetja in njegove organizacije procesov sem predlagala več izboljšav z močnim poudarkom na digitalizaciji, izboljšani komunikaciji in implementaciji različnih metod za izboljšanje odnosov. Pred to raziskavo organizacija dela in prevozov v izbranem podjetju ni bila v celoti optimizirana za izpolnjevanje predvidenega namena, zato sem predlagala ustrezne spremembe organizacije transporta, s katerimi želim pomagati podjetju pri doseganju in preseganju vnaprej zastavljenih ciljev. In the thesis, the organization and implementation of the transport of concrete mix in the company Rokava d.o.o. is analyzed in more detail. Organized transport is key, because only in this way can we reduce costs for both carriers and users of transport services. Concrete activity is a broad concept that represents the entire process of concrete mixes from planning, production, organization and implementation, transportation and installation. The thesis begins with a description of the importance of modern information solutions in managing the work flow of the company itself. My involvement in the process itself led me to realize that there is still a lot of room for improvement in the organization of work and transportation in the company. In my diploma thesis, I extensively studied the organization of work and transport and identified the areas that need to be improved. I delved into the very meaning of work organization, its goals and resulting effects, and outlined the factors that influence the organization of processes itself. Despite the fact that the selected company uses advanced technology and has a small number of employees, it turned out that the company does not have adequate software support. As a result, I researched the importance of digitization and different methodologies such as the 5s method, 20 keys, Kaizen, Balanced Scorecard, Benchmarking and Six Sigma for organizational improvement. Based on the analysis of the company and its organization of processes, I proposed several improvements with a strong emphasis on digitization, improved communication and the implementation of various methods for nurturing better relationships. Prior to this research, the organization of work and transportation in the selected company was not fully optimized to fulfill the intended purpose. In light of this, I have proposed appropriate changes to the organization of transport, with which I want to help the company achieve and exceed previously set goals.

    El proyecto de grado planteado pone en evidencia el déficit de formación para el trabajo que poseen los habitantes de la periferia de Cali, donde muchos de estos, principalmente jóvenes, viven en un entorno donde los índices de pobreza y violencia son altísimos y a su vez la falta de educación y espacios destinados a esta son escasos, impidiendo que estos, culminen sus estudios y no puedan acceder a empleos de mejor calidad. Es por esto que, a través de un proyecto arquitectónico de índole social, se busca diseñar un centro de formación enfocado en la agricultura, en el municipio de Cali, equipado con espacios para el aprendizaje agrícola como talleres, aulas y laboratorios, que favorezcan a habitantes jóvenes de la comuna 21, los cuales les permitan adquirir conocimiento sobre temas agrícolas y los puedan poner en práctica con huertos urbanos que den pie y generen un entorno comercial en la zona. The proposed degree project highlights the lack of training for work that the inhabitants of the periphery of Cali have, where many of them, mainly young people, live in an environment where the rates of poverty and violence are very high and at the same time the lack of education and spaces dedicated to it are scarce, preventing them from completing their studies and not being able to access better quality jobs.     Wheat (Triticum aestivum) is a crop that dominates the diets of about 35% of the world's human population. But wheat yields can be severely affected by drought. Therefore, in this experiment, root exudation of winter wheat was compared to find out how exudation changes during drought stress. This was done by using control plants that were compared to plants that experienced 8 days of drought and subsequently, 3 days of rewetting. Moreover, it was explored which one of two wheat genotypes, Capo or Aristaro, is better adapted to drought by measuring plant physiology and if beneficial rhizosphere microorganisms could help alleviate drought in wheat. Exudations were analysed using a photometer. It was found that drought and rewetting treatment influenced shoot dry weight, shoot water content, relative chlorophyll, as well as exuded phenols, sugars and amino acids. Aristaro was found to be more drought tolerant, because Aristaro plants had higher and more stable shoot water content, lower non-photochemical quenching (NPQ(T)), and exuded more phenols and amino acids, which could help recruit plant-growth promoting rhizobacteria. However, Capo might be able to avoid drought through early maturity and can therefore be used in regions where drought occurs later in the year. The implications of this experiment are therefore useful for improving wheats resilience to drought and food security with use of microorganisms.

    Södra Gotland (Storsudret) är ett av de mest utsatta områdena i Sverige när det kommer till torka under somrarna. Trots stora mängder nederbörd har jordbrukare problem med bevattning då öns geologi påverkar lagringen av vatten i form av grundvatten negativt. Vilket beror på att berggrunden består främst av kalk, märgel och märgelsten. Dålig tillgång till vatten kombinerat med långa och varma somrar har medfört att skörden minskat markant under de senaste åren. Bevattningstekniker som används i dagsläget är inte bra på att utnyttja vatten på ett hållbart och effektivt sätt. Dessutom har kostnaderna ökat för många jordbrukare på Gotland med avseende på de ökande elpriserna. Bevattning kräver el och vissa bönder har exempelvis inte tillgång till el vid sina åkrar och måste därmed dra el vilket ökar kostnaderna markant. Behovet av mer resurseffektiva och hållbara bevattningstekniker är stort och något som behöver undersökas mer djupgående. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka ifall ett automatiserat bevattningssystem som drivs av solenergi faktiskt är möjligt att implementera. Detta utifrån olika kriterier såsom kostnad, energianvändning, skördemängd, klimatpåverkan och vattenanvändning. Därefter jämföra mot ett mer konventionellt system som används i dagsläget och därmed undersöka vilka skillnader det finns. Det var två system som valdes i studien. System 1 var ett potentiellt automatiserad rampbevattningssystem och system 2 ett konventionellt rampbevattningssystem. Båda systemen sattes in i verklighetsbaserade scenario (en åker i södra Gotland) för att få en mer realistisk överblick. Därefter användes en multikriterieanalys för att jämföra båda systemen mot varandra utifrån valda kriterier. Sist av allt användes en SWOT-analys för att sammanknyta all resultat som togs fram i studien. Resultatet visade att det är i teorin möjligt att bygga ett helt automatiserat bevattningssystem som drivs av solenergi och att det finns både positiva och negativa delar med systemet jämfört mot en konventionell rambevattning. Det potentiella systemet har exempelvis både en högre kostnad som 1,1 gånger högre, samt en högre energianvändning per hektar, cirka 5 gånger högre jämfört med ett konventionellt system. Dock presterade det potentiella systemet bättre jämfört mot ett konventionellt system med avseende på klimatpåverkan som var 10 gånger lägre jämfört med ett konventionellt system. SWOT sammanställningen visade också att intresset för automatiserade bevattningssystem är låg bland jordbrukare delvis på grund av att systemen inte är anpassade till svenska förhållanden, samt den höga investeringskostnaden. Därav krävs det att fler aktörer blir involveras och kunskapen sprids för att öka etableringen av automatiserade bevattningssystem på södra Gotland (Storsudret) samt resten av Sverige. The southern part of Gotland (Storsudret) is one of the most exposed areas in Sweden when it comes to drought during the summers. Despite large amounts of rainfall, farmers have problems with irrigation as the island’s geology negatively affects the storage of water in the form of groundwater. Poor access to water combined with long and hot summers has meant that the harvest has decreased significantly in recent years. Irrigation techniques used today are not good at using water sustainably and efficiently. In addition, costs have increased for many farmers in Gotland concerning the increasing electricity prices. Irrigation requires electricity and some farmers, for example, do not have access to electricity in their fields and thus have to get electricity, which increases costs significantly. The need for more resource-efficient and sustainable irrigation techniques is great and something that needs to be investigated in more depth. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether an automated irrigation system powered by solar energy is realistically possible to implement. This was based on various criteria such as cost, energy requirements, yield, etc., and then compare against a more conventional system that is currently used and thus examines what differences there are. Two systems were chosen in the study. System one was a potentially automated irrigation system and system two was a conventional ramp irrigation system. Both systems were put into a reality-based scenarios (a field in southern Gotland) to get a more realistic overview. Multi-criteria analysis was then used to compare both systems against each other based on selected criterias. Afterward, a SWOT analysis was also carried out to summarize all the results that were produced in the study. The result showed that it is theoretically possible to build a fully automated irrigation system powered by solar energy and that there are both positive and negative parts to the system com- pared to conventional ramp irrigation. The potential system has, for example, both a higher cost which was 1.1 times higher, and a higher energy requirement per hectare which was 5 times higher compared to a conventional system. However, the potential system performed better compared to a conventional system concerning climate impact which was 10 times lower compared to a conven- tional system. The SWOT summarize also showed that interest in automated irrigation systems was low among farmers partly due to the systems not being adapted to Swedish conditions and the large investment cost. Thus it is necessary that more actors be involved and the knowledge spread to increase the establishment of automated irrigation systems in southern Gotland (Storsudret) and in the rest of Sweden.
