    O presente projeto, teve como intuito estudar e analisar todo o processo de Recrutamento e Seleção (R&S) numa empresa em concreto. Durante o meu projeto o meu foco consistiu em analisar detalhadamente todo o processo existente, identificando deficiências e lacunas. O objetivo assentou em formular sugestões de melhoria que visassem aprimorar todo o processo, contribuindo para o aperfeiçoamento das práticas, de forma a acompanharem a globalização e informatização que se tem vindo a verificar na empresa. Investir no R&S não só melhora a qualidade dos profissionais que irão ingressar na organização, como consequentemente aumenta o comprometimento e desempenho dos mesmos. Além de que contribui para que procedimentos posteriores à seleção, sejam tomados de forma mais coerente. Esta temática deve ser vista como uma ferramenta que fornece à organização, colaboradores e clientes, as condições necessárias para se alcançar com eficiência e eficácia os objetivos organizacionais. De forma a estudar este tema, foi realizada uma recolha de dados, através de uma metodologia qualitativa, utilizando-se as entrevistas semiestruturadas e, de forma a analisar os resultados obtidos foi efetuada uma análise qualitativa, onde se recorreu às tabelas de categorias para melhor análise. Nesta análise aferiu-se a perceção dos entrevistados em relação ao R&S, de que forma era efetuado e consequências do processo anterior antes de qualquer mudança e ainda de que forma foram recebidas as minhas sugestões. Como resultados, este projeto permitiu estudar a empresa, avaliando o seu processo, possibilitando-me ainda aferir as consequências de boas práticas de R&S no curto e longo prazo, e perceber a aceitabilidade das minhas sugestões. Além disso consegui dar resposta à minha grande questão, e perceber que também as práticas de RH sofrem alterações com a informatização e competitividade, e que o R&S tem de acompanhar estas mudanças de forma a obter resultados positivos quer para a organização, quer para colaboradores e clientes. Em suma, os resultados apontam para que haja cada vez mais uma sensibilização e responsabilização para as práticas que são aplicadas no R&S, para que se desenvolvam bons profissionais que se enquadrem com a cultura, clima, missão, visão e valores da organização. This project aimed to study and analyze the entire Recruitment and Selection (R&S) process in a specific company. During my project my focus was on analyzing the entire existing process in detail, identifying deficiencies and gaps. The objective was to formulate suggestions for improvement that aimed to improve the entire process, contributing to the improvement of practices, in order to keep up with the globalization and computerization that has been taking place in the company. Investing in R&S not only improves the quality of professionals who will join the organization, but also increases their commitment and performance. In addition, it contributes to post-selection procedures being carried out in a more coherent manner. This theme should be seen as a tool that provides the organization, employees and customers with the necessary conditions to efficiently and effectively achieve organizational objectives. In order to study this topic, data collection was carried out, through a qualitative methodology, using semi-structured interviews and, in order to analyze the results obtained, a qualitative analysis was carried out, where category tables were used to better understand analysis. In this analysis, the interviewees' perception of R&S was measured, how it was carried out and the consequences of the previous process before any change and also how my suggestions were received. As a result, this project allowed me to study the company, evaluating its process, allowing me to assess the consequences of good R&S practices in the short and long term, and understand the acceptability of my suggestions. Furthermore, I managed to answer my big question, and understand that HR practices also undergo changes with computerization and competitiveness, and that R&S has to follow these changes in order to obtain positive results for both the organization, employees and customers. In short, the results indicate that there is increasing awareness and responsibility for the practices that are applied in R&S, so that good professionals are developed who fit in with the culture, climate, mission, vision and values of the organization.     A transformação digital está presente nos diversos ramos empresariais, os quais procuram usufruir das vantagens ligadas à utilização das tecnologias digitais e, por isso, o termo digitalização descreve o aumento do uso de informações ou tecnologias digitais nas organizações. A constante transformação da informação analógica para um formato digital muda fundamentalmente a forma como as empresas operam e a forma como os bens e serviços são produzidos e comercializados. No caso do setor bancário, a digitalização e a automatização dos processos ligados à prestação de serviços financeiros trouxeram novos modos de operar, e a evolução tecnológica obriga a uma mudança constante de procedimentos. Deste modo, a transformação digital do setor bancário possibilitou mudanças bastante positivas como uma maior eficiência e uma redução dos custos operacionais através da automação de processos e da implementação de algoritmos inteligentes. Apesar de uma notória mudança, da constante evolução e de grande parte das operações da banca de retalho estarem disponíveis nas plataformas digitais, notamos que a prática destas novas interações é realizada a duas velocidades, ou seja, as faixas etárias mais jovens não têm necessidade de se deslocar a uma ATM para efetuar qualquer tipo de operação bancária, ao passo que as faixas etárias mais velhas demonstram pouca adaptação aos meios digitais, o que gera desconfiança em abraçar as plataformas digitais da banca. Esta dicotomia que afeta diretamente a transformação digital da banca compromete o desenvolvimento de novos produtos, os seus processos e toda a experiência do consumidor. Em suma, este estudo revela que o uso dos meios digitais no setor bancário é mais frequente entre os mais jovens, salientando uma crescente expansão para faixas etárias mais avançadas. Adicionalmente, os usuários revelam-se satisfeitos com os canais digitais à sua disposição, e a falta de interesse e experiência são os principais entraves para a não utilização dos mesmos. Além disso, destaca-se a persistente desigualdade digital como um desafio que exige intervenções eficazes para alcançar a inclusão digital universal The digital transformation continues to grow on a daily basis in the various business sectors, which are looking to take advantage of the benefits linked to the use of digital technologies, and so the term digitisation describes the increased use of digital information or technologies in organisations. The constant transformation of analogue information into a digital format fundamentally changes the way companies operate and the way goods and services are produced and marketed. In the case of the banking sector, the digitisation and automation of processes linked to the provision of financial services has brought new ways of operating, where technological evolution forces a constant change in procedures. In this way, the digital transformation of the banking sector has brought about very positive changes such as greater efficiency and a reduction in operating costs through the automation of processes and the implementation of intelligent algorithms. Despite the notorious change, the constant evolution and the fact that a large part of retail banking operations are available on digital platforms, we note that the practice of these new interactions is carried out at two speeds, i.e. younger age groups have no need to go to an ATM to carry out any type of banking operation, while older age groups show little adaptation to digital media, which generates distrust in embracing digital banking platforms. This controversy, which directly affects the digital transformation of banking, jeopardises the development of new products, their processes and the entire consumer experience. In summary, this study shows that the use of digital channels in the banking sector is more frequent among younger individuals, with a noticeable expansion into older age groups. Furthermore, users express satisfaction with the available digital channels, and lack of interest and experience are the primary barriers to non-utilization. Additionally, the study underscores the ongoing issue of digital inequality as a challenge that necessitates effective interventions to achieve universal digital inclusion.     A crise financeira de 2008 revelou falhas desconhecidas que existiam no sistema financeiro e desencadeou um clima de incerteza e desconfiança em relação às instituições financeiras ditas “tradicionais”. Estas falhas abriram portas para que novos operadores, como as fintech, ingressassem no mercado, oferecendo produtos e serviços financeiros inovadores que revolucionaram o sistema financeiro e suscitaram o interesse de novos utilizadores. As fintech estão a introduzir serviços financeiros inovadores suportados em novas tecnologias e Portugal tem-se consolidado como um importante hub tecnológico. Assim, foi desenvolvido um estudo de modo a perceber de que forma a população portuguesa está recetiva a esta nova forma de relacionamento entre o banco e o cliente, que passou a ser mediada pelas tecnologias da informação e da comunicação, bem como o impacto que o crescimento das fintech tem na banca e como estes players se posicionam no mercado. Esta tema está muito presente no dia-a-dia, tanto para os recém-chegados (fintech), é um mundo novo como para os incumbentes (bancos) é o lidar com novos desafios. Com base na informação da análise efetuada, os resultados sugerem que clientes estão recetivos à transformação digital e com forte propensão de ver a sua relação com o banco modificada e mais assente em plataformas digitais, essencialmente devido à redução dos custos e à comodidade e simplicidade no processamento de operações. Apesar de se ter constatado que existe ainda um desconhecimento grande sobre fintech, cerca de metade dos inquiridos em estudo ponderam aderir a serviços fintech no futuro. Outra análise registada, é que o atendimento personalizado (entenda-se presencial), foi o motivo mais citado para a não utilização dos serviços financeiros online. Este é um tema que as fintech têm de enfrentar face à ausência de balcões físicos e que se torna uma vantagem para os bancos. Assim, a banca tem um desafio pela frente e no futuro será o resultado da sinergia entre os pontos fortes de bancos tradicionais e das fintech. Esta relação é muito promissora e será cada vez mais necessária para o sucesso de ambas as partes. The 2008 financial crisis revealed previously unknown flaws in the financial system, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and mistrust towards so-called "traditional" financial institutions. These gaps provided opportunities for new players, such as fintech companies, to enter the market as providers of innovative financial products and services that revolutionized the system and piqued the interest of costumers. Fintech companies offer innovative financial services through new technologies, and Portugal has been transforming into an important technological hub. Therefore, the present study was conducted to understand how the Portuguese population is receptive to this new form of interaction between the bank and the customer, which is now mediated by information and communication technologies. The study also addresses the impact of the fintech industry's growth on traditional banking and how these players position themselves in the market. This topic is relevant in daily life, both for newcomers (fintech companies) as they navigate a new world, and for incumbents (banks) as they deal with new challenges. Based on the analysis, the results suggest that customers are open to digital transformation and are highly inclined to see their relationship with the bank transformed, relying more on digital platforms. This shift is primarily due to cost reduction, convenience, and simplicity in processing transactions. Even though there is still a significant lack of awareness about fintech, about half of the survey respondents are considering using fintech services in the future. Another notable finding is that personalized (in-person) service was the most cited reason for not using online financial services. This is a challenge that fintech companies have due to their absence of physical branches, which remains an advantage for traditional banks. The banking sector faces a challenge, and the future will depend on the synergy between the strengths of traditional banks and fintech companies.     O desenvolvimento tecnológico está a mudar a nossa realidade de forma irreversível. A atual realidade empresarial é caraterizada por uma esfera organizacional de rápidas e constantes modificações, sendo algumas das variáveis controláveis, e outras não. Fatores como a globalização, o desenvolvimento tecnológico e a crescente ênfase no conhecimento, geraram na sociedade e nas organizações uma maior necessidade de adaptação e resiliência às mudanças. Neste sentido, a transformação digital (TD) passa a estar no topo das preocupações das empresas, traduzindo-se numa ferramenta de extrema importância para estas. Deste ponto de vista, a aposta na transformação digital passou a ser uma questão de sobrevivência. O presente estudo incide sob o setor da mediação imobiliária. Como iremos demonstrar, este setor, devido à sua natureza tradicional, foi um dos setores que durante muito tempo foi quase imune à transformação digital. No entanto, atualmente, mostra sinais de um avanço progressivo para a digitalização. O propósito do presente estudo consiste em identificar os principais drivers/potencializares da TD nas organizações do concelho do Funchal, ou seja, verificar quais são os principais fatores ou variáveis que impulsionam a TD. A metodologia de análise tem por base um estudo qualitativo, suportado na aplicação de um questionário a uma amostra de 33 organizações obtidas por conveniência, do concelho do Funchal. Os resultados alcançados revelam que são diversos os fatores que impulsionam as empresas de mediação imobiliária a desenvolver o processo de TD, dada a crescente competitividade, instabilidade e imprevisibilidade do setor. Os resultados demonstram ainda que a transformação digital nas empresas do ramo imobiliário do Funchal são uma prioridade, embora ainda estejamos perante alguma falta de literacia digital por parte dos colaboradores, que dificultam uma mudança de paradigma no seu desenvolvimento. Os principais potenciadores identificados foram a procura de eficácia e eficiência, a exigência dos clientes e do meio organizacional e constante desenvolvimento tecnológico. A transformação digital promete melhorias no desempenho organizacional, nomeadamente na sua produtividade, eficiência, redução de custos e ainda proporcionar novas oportunidades de mercado. Apesar destes pontos fortes, foram identificados como principais inibidores da transformação digital a falta de recursos capacitados, a falta de compreensão do conceito e benefícios da TD, os custos associados, a falta de parcerias e a falta de recursos tecnológicos Em suma, a transformação digital das empresas de mediação imobiliária no concelho do Funchal é uma realidade emergente, sendo a cada dia que passa necessário adaptar o negócio às necessidades dos clientes, por sua vez cada vez mais exigentes. The technological development is changing our reality in an irreversible way. The current business reality is characterized by an organizational atmosphere in fast and constant modifications, as some of the variants are controllable and others are not. Factors such as globalization, technological development and knowledge awareness induced, in society and organizations, a greater need to be flexible and resilient to changes. From this point of view, digital transformation (TD) is now top concern of companies, indicating to be an extremely important tool for the organization. Thus, the focus on TD has become a matter of survival. The present study focuses on the real estate sector. As we will demonstrate, this sector, due to its traditional nature, was one of the segments that for a long time was almost immune to digital transformation. However, recently, it’s showing signs of a progressive advance toward digitalization. The purpose of this study is to identify the main drivers of TD in Funchal organizations, i.e. verify the main factors or variables that maximize TD. The analysis methodology is based on a qualitative study, supported by a questionnaire, to a sample of 33 organizations, from Funchal, obtained based on convenience. The results achieved revealed that the digital transformation in real estate industry appears to be a priority, although we are still facing some lack of digital literacy from the companies that make the paradigm shift in their development. The main drivers identified were the search for effectiveness and efficiency, customers demand, organizational environment, and new technologies. The digital transformation assures improvements in organizational performance, namely in its productivity, efficiency, cost reduction and provides new market opportunities. Despite these strengths the main inhibitor of digital transformation identified was the lack of trained resources, the lack of understanding of the concept and benefits of TD, the associated cost, the lack of partnerships and technological resources. In short, the digital transformation in the Funchal real estate industry is an emerging reality with, each passing day, it being necessary to adapt the business to costumers needs, who are becoming more demanding.

    O presente projeto de mestrado visa a digitalização, através de uma aplicação, de um Manual de Emergência no Transporte de Mercadorias perigosas, e tem dois objetivos. O primeiro objetivo, é o aumento da rapidez por parte dos colaboradores da Empresa, na identificação das medidas de emergência, que deverão ser acionadas num cenário de sinistro ocorrido durante o transporte de mercadorias perigosas. O segundo objetivo, é a agilização da comunicação entre os departamentos internos da Empresa, que estão envolvidos nestas situações de sinistro. Estes objetivos foram definidos, atendendo aos resultados obtidos pelo método manual de consulta em vigor, que se revelou manifestamente ineficaz. A aplicação que está na base do processo de digitalização, é um artefacto digital instalado nos terminais/telemóveis, disponibilizados aos colaboradores motoristas da Empresa. Atendendo ao carácter casuístico de cada sinistro, no que concerne a sua dimensão, efeitos e danos, o artefacto permitirá a identificação das medidas de emergência a adotar através do número ONU, da designação da matéria ADR transportada, ou das etiquetas que possam estar visíveis. Em última instância, caso não seja possível aplicar nenhum dos referidos meios de identificação das medidas a adotar, devido à extensão ou gravidade do sinistro, são providenciadas medidas de recurso, como por exemplo os contactos de emergência específicos que deverão ser acionados. This master's degree project aims to digitize an Emergency Manual for the Transport of Dangerous Goods through an application. The first objective is to increase the speed with which the company's employees can identify the emergency measures that should be taken in the event of an accident during the transportation of dangerous goods. The second objective is to speed up communication between the company's internal departments, which are involved in these accident situations. These objectives were defined in light of the results obtained by the manual consultation method in force, which proved to be manifestly ineffective. The application that underpins the digitization process is a digital artefact installed on the terminals/mobile phones made available to the company's employee drivers. Given the case-by-case nature of each accident, in terms of its size, effects and damage, the artifact will allow the identification of the emergency measures to be adopted by means of the UN number, the designation of the ADR material being transported, or the labels that may be visible. Ultimately, if none of the above means of identifying the measures to be adopted can be applied due to the extent or severity of the incident, recourse measures are provided, such as specific emergency contacts that should be activated.

    Com o desenvolvimento das tecnologias de produção e dos requisitos dos mercados, o aumento da diversidade de materiais criou a necessidade da criação de sistemas de controlo de materiais e programação de necessidades mais sofisticados, de forma a evitar que as empresas sofram descontinuidades de material. A codificação tem como objetivo principal facilitar a comunicação dentro da organização, atribuindo um código único, representativo a cada artigo, permitindo simplificar as operações dentro da organização. Assim, a identificação única dos materiais, é o primeiro passo para possuir um bom sistema de gestão de materiais e um controlo de inventário eficiente. A presente dissertação surge enquadrada no curso de Mestrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial, da Universidade do Minho, e o seu principal propósito passa pela revisão do sistema industrial de codificação de uma unidade de produção têxtil, integrando-se num projeto de reestruturação desta mesma unidade de fabrico. Como componente do projeto, o foco desta revisão é numa das secções da fábrica - a Cozinha de Cores, realizando-se uma análise aos seus processos de gestão da informação de artigos. Como base para a criação das propostas de melhoria realizou-se, numa primeira fase, uma revisão crítica da literatura, na qual se estudaram conceitos e abordagens relacionadas com a indústria 4.0 e a gestão de informação de artigos, analisando-se diversos sistemas de codificação que já existem atualmente e são amplamente utilizados em diferentes áreas. Posteriormente, na fase “As Is”, são identificados vários problemas que advêm da existência de sistemas de codificação desatualizados, procedimentos rudimentares e um sistema ERP ineficiente. Tudo isto cria problemas para a unidade produtiva, nomeadamente a ocorrência erros de produção, que incorrem em prejuízo, e a existência de stocks permanentemente desatualizados De forma a colmatar os problemas identificados, propõem-se dois sistemas de codificação com novas normas claramente estabelecidas, um para a codificação de tintas criadas na cozinha de cores e outro para a codificação de matérias-primas. Adicionalmente propõem-se alterações no sistema ERP de forma a reduzir a ocorrência de erros e mudanças no sistema de rótulos que existe atualmente, preparando a secção para a integração no projeto de digitalização do chão de fábrica que irá ocorrer no próximo ano. With the development of production technologies and the requirements of the markets, the increase in the diversity of materials has created the need for the creation of more sophisticated material control and scheduling systems, in order to prevent companies from suffering material discontinuities. The main objective of the Codification is to ease communication within the organization, assigning a unique representative code to each article, allowing to simplify operations within the organization. Thus, the unique identification of materials is the first step to have a good materials management system and an efficient inventory control. This dissertation is part of the Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, from University of Minho, and its main purpose is to review the industrial coding system of a textile production unit, integrating in a restructuring project of this same manufacturing unit. As a component of the project, the focus of this review is on one of the sections of the factory - the Color Kitchen, carrying out an analysis of its article information management processes. As a basis for the creation of the improvement proposals, a critical review of the literature was carried out in the first phase, in which concepts and approaches related to industry 4.0 and article information management were studied, analyzing several coding systems that already exist today and are widely used in different areas. Subsequently, in the "As Is" phase, several problems are identified that come from the existence of outdated coding systems, rudimentary procedures, and an inefficient ERP system. All this creates problems for the production unit, namely the occurrence of production errors, which incur losses, and the existence of permanently outdated stocks. In order to address the identified problems, two coding systems with new clearly established standards are proposed, one for the coding of paints created in the color kitchen and the other for the coding of raw materials. In addition, changes to the ERP system are proposed to reduce the occurrence of errors and changes to the label system that currently exists, preparing the section for its integration into the shop floor digitalization project that will take place next year.     This research and project aim to value and propose a (re)design of the landscape on the banks of the Leça River, along the territory that surrounds it at the beginning of its course. Based on an investigation into the Leça Valley, an alternative is sought for the future of this place, which can reverse the abandonment of the rural territory, justifying the overlapping of occupations with uses and intentions that characterize it. Thus, the different layers existing in this place are taken as a fundamental instrument in the Project, as they lead to a work that aims to connect the population to a natural system in which they are inserted and that, despite inhabiting it, they are sometimes unaware of it. . The Leça Valley therefore undergoes 4 actions for its development: plowing, sowing, fertilizing and staking. From the first action -“plowing”-, comes the attitude of working in a territory taking into account what it is suitable for. To this end, research work is carried out on it, in order to understand the conditions in which we find the land in question. Having analyzed the opportunities of the place, the act of “sowing” proposes the creation of a Higher Agricultural School that, taking advantage of the qualities and tradition of the place, promotes the transmission of knowledge and intergenerationality, bringing young people to this place. In addition, the Student Residence, which is directly linked to the school, supports the stay of these new inhabitants. From the new paradigm of agricultural workers in this territory, the issue of habitability conditions arises. From the context of welcoming immigrants who come here to work during the harvest period, an action of “fertilizing” arises, creating a Collective Temporary Residence taking into account issues of comfort and intimacy. From the desire expressed by some of these immigrants here to settle down with their families, the action of “staking” arises, with the creation of Permanent Multi-Family Residences so that these new inhabitants can settle here and stay, re-inhabiting abandoned areas and integrating the young population into this territory. Finally, it reflects on a hypothesis for the development of the site in the future, imagining that the implemented programs expand to adjacent land, creating new functions and connecting with each other. A presente investigação e o projeto visam valorizar e propor um (re) desenho da paisagem nas margens do Rio Leça, ao longo do território que o envolve no início do seu curso. Com base numa investigação sobre o Vale do Leça, procura-se uma alternativa ao futuro deste lugar, que possa reverter o abandono do território rural, justificando a sobreposição de ocupações com usos e intenções que o caracterizam. Assim, tomam-se as diferentes camadas existentes neste local como instrumento fundamental no ato do Projeto, ao conduzirem a uma obra que visa conectar a população a um sistema natural no qual se inserem e que, apesar de o habitarem, por vezes, o desconhecem. O Vale do Leça submete-se assim a 4 ações para o seu desenvolvimento: lavrar, semear, adubar e estacar. Da primeira ação -“lavrar”-, surge a atitude de trabalhar num território tendo em conta aquilo para que ele é adequado. Para isso, é feito um trabalho de investigação sobre o mesmo, de modo a perceber as condições em que encontramos o terreno em questão. Analisadas as oportunidades do lugar, o ato de “semear” propõe a criação de uma Escola Superior Agrária que, aproveitando as qualidades e a tradição do lugar, promove a transmissão de conhecimentos e a intergeracionalidade, trazendo jovens neste local. A par disto, a Residência de Estudantes, que se relaciona diretamente com a escola, vem apoiar a estadia destes novos habitantes. Do novo paradigma de trabalhadores agrícolas neste território, surge-nos a problemática das condições de habitabilidade. Do contexto do acolhimento de imigrantes que aqui se dirigem para trabalhar no período das colheita, surge ação de “adubar”, criando uma Residência Temporária Coletiva tendo em conta questões de conforto e intimidade. Da vontade manifestada por alguns destes imigrantes daqui se estabelecerem com a sua família, surge a ação de “estacar”, com a criação de Residências Permanentes Plurifamiliares para que estes novos habitantes aqui se instalem e permaneçam, reabitando áreas em abandono e integrando população jovem neste território. Por fim reflete-se sobre uma hipótese de desenvolvimento do local no futuro, imaginando que os programas implantados se expandem a terrenos adjacentes, criando novas funções e conectando-se entre si.     O azoto (N) é um dos mais importantes nutrientes para o crescimento das plantas, podendo ser aplicado de forma incorreta e/ou excessiva. Este elemento pode atingir as massas de água através de diversos processos, originando a sua contaminação. Assim sendo, surge a necessidade de analisar o impacto das práticas de gestão das culturas na qualidade do solo e das águas superficiais. Em particular, torna-se crucial analisar o impacto da aplicação de fertilizante solúvel em água, ou seja, da fertirrega, na qualidade destes ecossistemas. Este trabalho irá apresentar como caso de estudo um moderno olival de regadio na região do Alentejo, onde irão ser identificados os principais processos de perda de azoto para as massas de água superficiais e subterrâneas. Pretende, também, propor-se um esquema de monitorização, incluindo equipamentos e procedimentos, a adotar pela empresa gestora do olival. Nesse sentido, foram instalados equipamentos de monitorização da lixiviação e do escoamento superficial, nomeadamente cápsulas porosas abaixo e na zona das raízes das oliveiras (Olea europaea) para deteção da presença de nitratos (NO3-) na solução do solo e de eventuais fluxos para as águas subterrâneas. Procedeu-se também à avaliação dos débitos através da medição do volume de diversos gotejadores, por forma a aferir se a aplicação de nutrientes está a ser feita uniformemente. Os resultados demonstram que, à exceção de um dia em que o débito dos gotejadores difere substancialmente do estipulado pelo fabricante, se verificam apenas diferenças pontuais no caudal dos diversos gotejadores. Sendo que essas incongruências apenas apresentaram repercussões diretas na concentração de nitratos da solução fertilizante e não na solução de solo, admite-se que estas foram compensadas em todos os casos. Em muitas das cápsulas porosas foi impossível recolher solução de solo e verificou-se um impacto visível das flutuações das unidades de fertilizante de azoto (UF N) fornecidas ao sistema nas concentrações encontradas na solução de solo. Relativamente às concentrações, de um modo geral, estas foram superiores em camadas mais profundas do solo e houve uma tendência para encontrar valores mais elevados no perfil do solo do que na água de rega, o que leva a crer que o solo tem o potencial de acumular nitratos proveniente de fertilizações anteriores. No que diz respeito ao protocolo é sugerido o aumento do número de pontos de amostragem, bem como a sua repetição num ano diferente do corrente, em que se verifique a ocorrência de precipitação. Nitrogen (N) is one of the most important nutrients for plant growth and can be applied incorrectly and/or excessively. This element can reach water bodies through various processes, causing their contamination. Therefore, it arises the need to analyse the impact of crop management practices on the quality of soil and surface water arises. In particular, it becomes crucial to analyse the impact of water-soluble fertilizer application, i.e., fertigation, on the quality of these ecosystems. This work will present a case study of a modern and irrigated olive grove in Alentejo, where the main processes of N loss to surface and groundwater bodies will be identified. It is also intended to propose a monitoring scheme, including equipment and procedures, to be adopted by the olive grove management company. In that regard, leaching and surface runoff monitoring equipment was installed, specifically porous capsules below and in the root zone of the olive trees (Olea europaea) to detect the presence of nitrates (NO3-) in the soil solution and possible flows to groundwater. The flow rates were also evaluated by measuring the volume of several drippers, to assess whether the nutrient application is being done evenly. The results show that, except for one day when the flow rate of the drippers differed substantially from that stipulated by the manufacturer, there were only occasional differences in the flow rate of the different drippers. Since these inconsistencies only had direct repercussions on the nitrate concentration of the fertilizer solution and not on the soil solution, it is assumed that these were compensated in all cases. In many of the capsules it was impossible to collect soil solution and there was a visible impact of the fluctuations of the nitrogen fertilizer units (UF N) supplied on the concentrations found in the soil solution. Regarding the concentrations, in general, they were higher in deeper soil layers and there was a tendency to find higher values in the soil profile than in the irrigation water, which leads to believe that the soil has the potential to accumulate nitrates from previous fertilizations. As far as the protocol is concerned, it is suggested to increase the number of sampling points, as well as to repeat it in a year when precipitation occurs. Mestrado em Engenharia Agronómica.     A Realidade Aumentada pertence às tecnologias que incorporam a Indústria 4.0 e é utilizada com muita frequência pelas organizações de diferentes áreas de atuação. No contexto museológico internacional, a RA tem vindo a ser mais aplicada, no entanto, no caso específico de Portugal, existe ainda uma grande escassez no que toca à implementação desta tecnologia. O principal objetivo desta investigação foi determinar quais são os fatores de influência no sucesso ou no insucesso da implementação de Realidade Aumentada nos museus. A investigação teve como base um grupo de 5 museus portugueses, sob tutela da Direção Regional da Cultura do Norte, que integraram um projeto de implmenetação da Realidade Aumentada. De forma a cumprir com o objetivo do estudo foi utilizada a metodologia de estudo de casos múltiplos e o método de inquérito por entrevista. Após a recolha de dados, os mesmos foram tratados e apresentados e procedeu-se ao estudo qualitativo com recurso à análise descritiva e comparativa, com base na análise de conteúdo. Os resultados mostraram que os fatores de maior influência no sucesso ou insucesso da implementação de RA nos museus são a tecnologia de rede, a formação dos recursos humanos e os custos associados à RA. As conclusões deste estudo lançam luzes sobre a complexidade associada à integração da tecnologia de RA no contexto museológico, evidenciando, ainda, os motivos pelos quais a duração de projetos de RA em museus portugueses é tão curta. Estas perceções fornecem uma base para esforços futuros no aproveitamente da RA para melhorar as experiências museológicas, ao mesmo tempo que enfatizam a importância de uma compreensão abrangente dos desafios contextuais e das considerações envolvidas em tais implementações. Augmented Reality belongs to the technologies that embody Industry 4.0 and is used very frequently by organisations in different fields. In the international museum context, AR has been more widely applied, but in the specific case of Portugal, there is still a great lack of implementation of this technology. The main objective of this investigation was to determine what factores influence the success or failure of the implementation of Augmented Reality in museums. The investigation was based on a group of 5 Portuguese museums, under the supervision of the Direção Regional da Cultura do Norte, which were part of a project to implement Augmented Reality. In order to fulfil these objectives, the multiple case study methodology and the interview survey method were used. After collecting the data, they were processed and presented and a qualitative study was carried out using descriptive and comparative analysis, based on content analysis. The results showed that the factors that most influence the success or failure of implementing AR in museums are network technology, human resource training and the costs associated with AR. The conclusions of this study shed light on the complexity associated with integrating AR technology into the museum context, and also hilight the reasons why the duraction of the project in the different museums was so short. These insights provide a basis for future efforts to harness AR to enhance museum experiences, while emphasising the importance of a comprehensive understanding of the contextual challenges and considerations involved in such implementations.

    O fenómeno em análise na presente dissertação representa um tema bastante debatido no atual contexto de digitalização e globalização, com importância crescente para as empresas de diversas áreas de atividade, uma vez que a correlação entre empreendedorismo e digitalização pode servir como vantagem competitiva. Por este motivo, torna-se pertinente estudar o impacto que a digitalização terá na atividade empreendedora. No entanto, é necessário, numa primeira fase, compreender a relação entre as variáveis, de forma a preceder se estas se relacionam e de que forma o fazem e descobrir quais as tecnologias inerentes à digitalização que terão impacto na atividade empreendedora. Para tal, na realização desta dissertação foram levantadas várias questões “Qual o impacto que a digitalização poderá ter na atividade empreendedora nos países da UE?”, “Qual a relação entre a digitalização e a atividade empreendedora ?”, Qual o impacto do Crescimento económico e da Digitalização na Actividade empreendedora ?” e “Quais as variáveis/ drivers que poderão explicar a relação entre o Crescimento económico, Digitalização e a Actividade empreendedora?”. Para a realização deste estudo, e de forma a ser possível responder às 3 questões de investigação, foram utilizados dados disponíveis no The World Bank e na Eurostat para o período compreendido entre 2010 a 2022, relativos aos 4 países da União Europeia (Dinamarca, Finlândia, Noruega e Suécia), procedendo à utilização de métodos de estimação econométrica adequados e recorrentes para uma dada amostra com dados em painel; mais especificamente estimação de modelos lineares de efeitos fixos e efeitos aleatórios com correção ao enviesamento.Os resultados obtidos mostraram, notoriamente, que a digitalização tem um impacto significativo na atividade empreendedora, através da presença das tecnologias da informação intrínsecas, tanto nas empresas, como nos países. Deste modo, o presente estudo pode apoiar e contribuir no apoio à tomada de decisão com base na escolha e na adoção das tecnologias digitais na gestão operacional dass empresas, contribuindo para que estas consigam aproveitar todos os benefícios resultantes da digitalização e das suas tecnologias. The topic under analysis in this dissertation is a highly debated one in the current context of digitalisation and globalisation, with growing importance for companies in many different areas of activity, since the correlation between entrepreneurship and digitalisation can serve as a competitive advantage. For this reason, it is pertinent to study the impact that digitalisation will have on entrepreneurial activity. However, it's necessary to first understand the relationship between the variables to find out whether and how they are related and to discover which technologies inherent in digitalisation will have an impact on entrepreneurial activity. For this purpose, this dissertation asked several questions: "What impact could digitalisation have on entrepreneurial activity in European Union countries?", " What is the relationship between digitalisation and entrepreneurial activity?", " What is the impact of economic growth and digitalisation on entrepreneurial activity?" and " What variables/drivers could explain the relationship between economic growth, digitalisation and entrepreneurial activity?". To carry out this study, and in order to answer the research questions, data available from The World Bank and Eurostat were used for the period 2010 to 2022, for the 4 countries of the European Union (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden), using the appropriate and recurring econometric estimation methods for a given sample with panel data; more specifically, estimation of linear fixed effects and random effects models with bias correction. The results obtained clearly show that digitalisation has a significant impact on entrepreneurial activity, through the presence of intrinsic information technologies in both companies and countries. In this way, this study can provide support for decision-making based on the choice and adoption of digital technologies in the operational management of companies, helping them to take advantage of all the benefits resulting from digitalisation and its technologies.

    O presente projeto, teve como intuito estudar e analisar todo o processo de Recrutamento e Seleção (R&S) numa empresa em concreto. Durante o meu projeto o meu foco consistiu em analisar detalhadamente todo o processo existente, identificando deficiências e lacunas. O objetivo assentou em formular sugestões de melhoria que visassem aprimorar todo o processo, contribuindo para o aperfeiçoamento das práticas, de forma a acompanharem a globalização e informatização que se tem vindo a verificar na empresa. Investir no R&S não só melhora a qualidade dos profissionais que irão ingressar na organização, como consequentemente aumenta o comprometimento e desempenho dos mesmos. Além de que contribui para que procedimentos posteriores à seleção, sejam tomados de forma mais coerente. Esta temática deve ser vista como uma ferramenta que fornece à organização, colaboradores e clientes, as condições necessárias para se alcançar com eficiência e eficácia os objetivos organizacionais. De forma a estudar este tema, foi realizada uma recolha de dados, através de uma metodologia qualitativa, utilizando-se as entrevistas semiestruturadas e, de forma a analisar os resultados obtidos foi efetuada uma análise qualitativa, onde se recorreu às tabelas de categorias para melhor análise. Nesta análise aferiu-se a perceção dos entrevistados em relação ao R&S, de que forma era efetuado e consequências do processo anterior antes de qualquer mudança e ainda de que forma foram recebidas as minhas sugestões. Como resultados, este projeto permitiu estudar a empresa, avaliando o seu processo, possibilitando-me ainda aferir as consequências de boas práticas de R&S no curto e longo prazo, e perceber a aceitabilidade das minhas sugestões. Além disso consegui dar resposta à minha grande questão, e perceber que também as práticas de RH sofrem alterações com a informatização e competitividade, e que o R&S tem de acompanhar estas mudanças de forma a obter resultados positivos quer para a organização, quer para colaboradores e clientes. Em suma, os resultados apontam para que haja cada vez mais uma sensibilização e responsabilização para as práticas que são aplicadas no R&S, para que se desenvolvam bons profissionais que se enquadrem com a cultura, clima, missão, visão e valores da organização. This project aimed to study and analyze the entire Recruitment and Selection (R&S) process in a specific company. During my project my focus was on analyzing the entire existing process in detail, identifying deficiencies and gaps. The objective was to formulate suggestions for improvement that aimed to improve the entire process, contributing to the improvement of practices, in order to keep up with the globalization and computerization that has been taking place in the company. Investing in R&S not only improves the quality of professionals who will join the organization, but also increases their commitment and performance. In addition, it contributes to post-selection procedures being carried out in a more coherent manner. This theme should be seen as a tool that provides the organization, employees and customers with the necessary conditions to efficiently and effectively achieve organizational objectives. In order to study this topic, data collection was carried out, through a qualitative methodology, using semi-structured interviews and, in order to analyze the results obtained, a qualitative analysis was carried out, where category tables were used to better understand analysis. In this analysis, the interviewees' perception of R&S was measured, how it was carried out and the consequences of the previous process before any change and also how my suggestions were received. As a result, this project allowed me to study the company, evaluating its process, allowing me to assess the consequences of good R&S practices in the short and long term, and understand the acceptability of my suggestions. Furthermore, I managed to answer my big question, and understand that HR practices also undergo changes with computerization and competitiveness, and that R&S has to follow these changes in order to obtain positive results for both the organization, employees and customers. In short, the results indicate that there is increasing awareness and responsibility for the practices that are applied in R&S, so that good professionals are developed who fit in with the culture, climate, mission, vision and values of the organization.     A transformação digital está presente nos diversos ramos empresariais, os quais procuram usufruir das vantagens ligadas à utilização das tecnologias digitais e, por isso, o termo digitalização descreve o aumento do uso de informações ou tecnologias digitais nas organizações. A constante transformação da informação analógica para um formato digital muda fundamentalmente a forma como as empresas operam e a forma como os bens e serviços são produzidos e comercializados. No caso do setor bancário, a digitalização e a automatização dos processos ligados à prestação de serviços financeiros trouxeram novos modos de operar, e a evolução tecnológica obriga a uma mudança constante de procedimentos. Deste modo, a transformação digital do setor bancário possibilitou mudanças bastante positivas como uma maior eficiência e uma redução dos custos operacionais através da automação de processos e da implementação de algoritmos inteligentes. Apesar de uma notória mudança, da constante evolução e de grande parte das operações da banca de retalho estarem disponíveis nas plataformas digitais, notamos que a prática destas novas interações é realizada a duas velocidades, ou seja, as faixas etárias mais jovens não têm necessidade de se deslocar a uma ATM para efetuar qualquer tipo de operação bancária, ao passo que as faixas etárias mais velhas demonstram pouca adaptação aos meios digitais, o que gera desconfiança em abraçar as plataformas digitais da banca. Esta dicotomia que afeta diretamente a transformação digital da banca compromete o desenvolvimento de novos produtos, os seus processos e toda a experiência do consumidor. Em suma, este estudo revela que o uso dos meios digitais no setor bancário é mais frequente entre os mais jovens, salientando uma crescente expansão para faixas etárias mais avançadas. Adicionalmente, os usuários revelam-se satisfeitos com os canais digitais à sua disposição, e a falta de interesse e experiência são os principais entraves para a não utilização dos mesmos. Além disso, destaca-se a persistente desigualdade digital como um desafio que exige intervenções eficazes para alcançar a inclusão digital universal The digital transformation continues to grow on a daily basis in the various business sectors, which are looking to take advantage of the benefits linked to the use of digital technologies, and so the term digitisation describes the increased use of digital information or technologies in organisations. The constant transformation of analogue information into a digital format fundamentally changes the way companies operate and the way goods and services are produced and marketed. In the case of the banking sector, the digitisation and automation of processes linked to the provision of financial services has brought new ways of operating, where technological evolution forces a constant change in procedures. In this way, the digital transformation of the banking sector has brought about very positive changes such as greater efficiency and a reduction in operating costs through the automation of processes and the implementation of intelligent algorithms. Despite the notorious change, the constant evolution and the fact that a large part of retail banking operations are available on digital platforms, we note that the practice of these new interactions is carried out at two speeds, i.e. younger age groups have no need to go to an ATM to carry out any type of banking operation, while older age groups show little adaptation to digital media, which generates distrust in embracing digital banking platforms. This controversy, which directly affects the digital transformation of banking, jeopardises the development of new products, their processes and the entire consumer experience. In summary, this study shows that the use of digital channels in the banking sector is more frequent among younger individuals, with a noticeable expansion into older age groups. Furthermore, users express satisfaction with the available digital channels, and lack of interest and experience are the primary barriers to non-utilization. Additionally, the study underscores the ongoing issue of digital inequality as a challenge that necessitates effective interventions to achieve universal digital inclusion.     A crise financeira de 2008 revelou falhas desconhecidas que existiam no sistema financeiro e desencadeou um clima de incerteza e desconfiança em relação às instituições financeiras ditas “tradicionais”. Estas falhas abriram portas para que novos operadores, como as fintech, ingressassem no mercado, oferecendo produtos e serviços financeiros inovadores que revolucionaram o sistema financeiro e suscitaram o interesse de novos utilizadores. As fintech estão a introduzir serviços financeiros inovadores suportados em novas tecnologias e Portugal tem-se consolidado como um importante hub tecnológico. Assim, foi desenvolvido um estudo de modo a perceber de que forma a população portuguesa está recetiva a esta nova forma de relacionamento entre o banco e o cliente, que passou a ser mediada pelas tecnologias da informação e da comunicação, bem como o impacto que o crescimento das fintech tem na banca e como estes players se posicionam no mercado. Esta tema está muito presente no dia-a-dia, tanto para os recém-chegados (fintech), é um mundo novo como para os incumbentes (bancos) é o lidar com novos desafios. Com base na informação da análise efetuada, os resultados sugerem que clientes estão recetivos à transformação digital e com forte propensão de ver a sua relação com o banco modificada e mais assente em plataformas digitais, essencialmente devido à redução dos custos e à comodidade e simplicidade no processamento de operações. Apesar de se ter constatado que existe ainda um desconhecimento grande sobre fintech, cerca de metade dos inquiridos em estudo ponderam aderir a serviços fintech no futuro. Outra análise registada, é que o atendimento personalizado (entenda-se presencial), foi o motivo mais citado para a não utilização dos serviços financeiros online. Este é um tema que as fintech têm de enfrentar face à ausência de balcões físicos e que se torna uma vantagem para os bancos. Assim, a banca tem um desafio pela frente e no futuro será o resultado da sinergia entre os pontos fortes de bancos tradicionais e das fintech. Esta relação é muito promissora e será cada vez mais necessária para o sucesso de ambas as partes. The 2008 financial crisis revealed previously unknown flaws in the financial system, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and mistrust towards so-called "traditional" financial institutions. These gaps provided opportunities for new players, such as fintech companies, to enter the market as providers of innovative financial products and services that revolutionized the system and piqued the interest of costumers. Fintech companies offer innovative financial services through new technologies, and Portugal has been transforming into an important technological hub. Therefore, the present study was conducted to understand how the Portuguese population is receptive to this new form of interaction between the bank and the customer, which is now mediated by information and communication technologies. The study also addresses the impact of the fintech industry's growth on traditional banking and how these players position themselves in the market. This topic is relevant in daily life, both for newcomers (fintech companies) as they navigate a new world, and for incumbents (banks) as they deal with new challenges. Based on the analysis, the results suggest that customers are open to digital transformation and are highly inclined to see their relationship with the bank transformed, relying more on digital platforms. This shift is primarily due to cost reduction, convenience, and simplicity in processing transactions. Even though there is still a significant lack of awareness about fintech, about half of the survey respondents are considering using fintech services in the future. Another notable finding is that personalized (in-person) service was the most cited reason for not using online financial services. This is a challenge that fintech companies have due to their absence of physical branches, which remains an advantage for traditional banks. The banking sector faces a challenge, and the future will depend on the synergy between the strengths of traditional banks and fintech companies.     O desenvolvimento tecnológico está a mudar a nossa realidade de forma irreversível. A atual realidade empresarial é caraterizada por uma esfera organizacional de rápidas e constantes modificações, sendo algumas das variáveis controláveis, e outras não. Fatores como a globalização, o desenvolvimento tecnológico e a crescente ênfase no conhecimento, geraram na sociedade e nas organizações uma maior necessidade de adaptação e resiliência às mudanças. Neste sentido, a transformação digital (TD) passa a estar no topo das preocupações das empresas, traduzindo-se numa ferramenta de extrema importância para estas. Deste ponto de vista, a aposta na transformação digital passou a ser uma questão de sobrevivência. O presente estudo incide sob o setor da mediação imobiliária. Como iremos demonstrar, este setor, devido à sua natureza tradicional, foi um dos setores que durante muito tempo foi quase imune à transformação digital. No entanto, atualmente, mostra sinais de um avanço progressivo para a digitalização. O propósito do presente estudo consiste em identificar os principais drivers/potencializares da TD nas organizações do concelho do Funchal, ou seja, verificar quais são os principais fatores ou variáveis que impulsionam a TD. A metodologia de análise tem por base um estudo qualitativo, suportado na aplicação de um questionário a uma amostra de 33 organizações obtidas por conveniência, do concelho do Funchal. Os resultados alcançados revelam que são diversos os fatores que impulsionam as empresas de mediação imobiliária a desenvolver o processo de TD, dada a crescente competitividade, instabilidade e imprevisibilidade do setor. Os resultados demonstram ainda que a transformação digital nas empresas do ramo imobiliário do Funchal são uma prioridade, embora ainda estejamos perante alguma falta de literacia digital por parte dos colaboradores, que dificultam uma mudança de paradigma no seu desenvolvimento. Os principais potenciadores identificados foram a procura de eficácia e eficiência, a exigência dos clientes e do meio organizacional e constante desenvolvimento tecnológico. A transformação digital promete melhorias no desempenho organizacional, nomeadamente na sua produtividade, eficiência, redução de custos e ainda proporcionar novas oportunidades de mercado. Apesar destes pontos fortes, foram identificados como principais inibidores da transformação digital a falta de recursos capacitados, a falta de compreensão do conceito e benefícios da TD, os custos associados, a falta de parcerias e a falta de recursos tecnológicos Em suma, a transformação digital das empresas de mediação imobiliária no concelho do Funchal é uma realidade emergente, sendo a cada dia que passa necessário adaptar o negócio às necessidades dos clientes, por sua vez cada vez mais exigentes. The technological development is changing our reality in an irreversible way. The current business reality is characterized by an organizational atmosphere in fast and constant modifications, as some of the variants are controllable and others are not. Factors such as globalization, technological development and knowledge awareness induced, in society and organizations, a greater need to be flexible and resilient to changes. From this point of view, digital transformation (TD) is now top concern of companies, indicating to be an extremely important tool for the organization. Thus, the focus on TD has become a matter of survival. The present study focuses on the real estate sector. As we will demonstrate, this sector, due to its traditional nature, was one of the segments that for a long time was almost immune to digital transformation. However, recently, it’s showing signs of a progressive advance toward digitalization. The purpose of this study is to identify the main drivers of TD in Funchal organizations, i.e. verify the main factors or variables that maximize TD. The analysis methodology is based on a qualitative study, supported by a questionnaire, to a sample of 33 organizations, from Funchal, obtained based on convenience. The results achieved revealed that the digital transformation in real estate industry appears to be a priority, although we are still facing some lack of digital literacy from the companies that make the paradigm shift in their development. The main drivers identified were the search for effectiveness and efficiency, customers demand, organizational environment, and new technologies. The digital transformation assures improvements in organizational performance, namely in its productivity, efficiency, cost reduction and provides new market opportunities. Despite these strengths the main inhibitor of digital transformation identified was the lack of trained resources, the lack of understanding of the concept and benefits of TD, the associated cost, the lack of partnerships and technological resources. In short, the digital transformation in the Funchal real estate industry is an emerging reality with, each passing day, it being necessary to adapt the business to costumers needs, who are becoming more demanding.

    O presente projeto de mestrado visa a digitalização, através de uma aplicação, de um Manual de Emergência no Transporte de Mercadorias perigosas, e tem dois objetivos. O primeiro objetivo, é o aumento da rapidez por parte dos colaboradores da Empresa, na identificação das medidas de emergência, que deverão ser acionadas num cenário de sinistro ocorrido durante o transporte de mercadorias perigosas. O segundo objetivo, é a agilização da comunicação entre os departamentos internos da Empresa, que estão envolvidos nestas situações de sinistro. Estes objetivos foram definidos, atendendo aos resultados obtidos pelo método manual de consulta em vigor, que se revelou manifestamente ineficaz. A aplicação que está na base do processo de digitalização, é um artefacto digital instalado nos terminais/telemóveis, disponibilizados aos colaboradores motoristas da Empresa. Atendendo ao carácter casuístico de cada sinistro, no que concerne a sua dimensão, efeitos e danos, o artefacto permitirá a identificação das medidas de emergência a adotar através do número ONU, da designação da matéria ADR transportada, ou das etiquetas que possam estar visíveis. Em última instância, caso não seja possível aplicar nenhum dos referidos meios de identificação das medidas a adotar, devido à extensão ou gravidade do sinistro, são providenciadas medidas de recurso, como por exemplo os contactos de emergência específicos que deverão ser acionados. This master's degree project aims to digitize an Emergency Manual for the Transport of Dangerous Goods through an application. The first objective is to increase the speed with which the company's employees can identify the emergency measures that should be taken in the event of an accident during the transportation of dangerous goods. The second objective is to speed up communication between the company's internal departments, which are involved in these accident situations. These objectives were defined in light of the results obtained by the manual consultation method in force, which proved to be manifestly ineffective. The application that underpins the digitization process is a digital artefact installed on the terminals/mobile phones made available to the company's employee drivers. Given the case-by-case nature of each accident, in terms of its size, effects and damage, the artifact will allow the identification of the emergency measures to be adopted by means of the UN number, the designation of the ADR material being transported, or the labels that may be visible. Ultimately, if none of the above means of identifying the measures to be adopted can be applied due to the extent or severity of the incident, recourse measures are provided, such as specific emergency contacts that should be activated.

    Com o desenvolvimento das tecnologias de produção e dos requisitos dos mercados, o aumento da diversidade de materiais criou a necessidade da criação de sistemas de controlo de materiais e programação de necessidades mais sofisticados, de forma a evitar que as empresas sofram descontinuidades de material. A codificação tem como objetivo principal facilitar a comunicação dentro da organização, atribuindo um código único, representativo a cada artigo, permitindo simplificar as operações dentro da organização. Assim, a identificação única dos materiais, é o primeiro passo para possuir um bom sistema de gestão de materiais e um controlo de inventário eficiente. A presente dissertação surge enquadrada no curso de Mestrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial, da Universidade do Minho, e o seu principal propósito passa pela revisão do sistema industrial de codificação de uma unidade de produção têxtil, integrando-se num projeto de reestruturação desta mesma unidade de fabrico. Como componente do projeto, o foco desta revisão é numa das secções da fábrica - a Cozinha de Cores, realizando-se uma análise aos seus processos de gestão da informação de artigos. Como base para a criação das propostas de melhoria realizou-se, numa primeira fase, uma revisão crítica da literatura, na qual se estudaram conceitos e abordagens relacionadas com a indústria 4.0 e a gestão de informação de artigos, analisando-se diversos sistemas de codificação que já existem atualmente e são amplamente utilizados em diferentes áreas. Posteriormente, na fase “As Is”, são identificados vários problemas que advêm da existência de sistemas de codificação desatualizados, procedimentos rudimentares e um sistema ERP ineficiente. Tudo isto cria problemas para a unidade produtiva, nomeadamente a ocorrência erros de produção, que incorrem em prejuízo, e a existência de stocks permanentemente desatualizados De forma a colmatar os problemas identificados, propõem-se dois sistemas de codificação com novas normas claramente estabelecidas, um para a codificação de tintas criadas na cozinha de cores e outro para a codificação de matérias-primas. Adicionalmente propõem-se alterações no sistema ERP de forma a reduzir a ocorrência de erros e mudanças no sistema de rótulos que existe atualmente, preparando a secção para a integração no projeto de digitalização do chão de fábrica que irá ocorrer no próximo ano. With the development of production technologies and the requirements of the markets, the increase in the diversity of materials has created the need for the creation of more sophisticated material control and scheduling systems, in order to prevent companies from suffering material discontinuities. The main objective of the Codification is to ease communication within the organization, assigning a unique representative code to each article, allowing to simplify operations within the organization. Thus, the unique identification of materials is the first step to have a good materials management system and an efficient inventory control. This dissertation is part of the Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, from University of Minho, and its main purpose is to review the industrial coding system of a textile production unit, integrating in a restructuring project of this same manufacturing unit. As a component of the project, the focus of this review is on one of the sections of the factory - the Color Kitchen, carrying out an analysis of its article information management processes. As a basis for the creation of the improvement proposals, a critical review of the literature was carried out in the first phase, in which concepts and approaches related to industry 4.0 and article information management were studied, analyzing several coding systems that already exist today and are widely used in different areas. Subsequently, in the "As Is" phase, several problems are identified that come from the existence of outdated coding systems, rudimentary procedures, and an inefficient ERP system. All this creates problems for the production unit, namely the occurrence of production errors, which incur losses, and the existence of permanently outdated stocks. In order to address the identified problems, two coding systems with new clearly established standards are proposed, one for the coding of paints created in the color kitchen and the other for the coding of raw materials. In addition, changes to the ERP system are proposed to reduce the occurrence of errors and changes to the label system that currently exists, preparing the section for its integration into the shop floor digitalization project that will take place next year.     This research and project aim to value and propose a (re)design of the landscape on the banks of the Leça River, along the territory that surrounds it at the beginning of its course. Based on an investigation into the Leça Valley, an alternative is sought for the future of this place, which can reverse the abandonment of the rural territory, justifying the overlapping of occupations with uses and intentions that characterize it. Thus, the different layers existing in this place are taken as a fundamental instrument in the Project, as they lead to a work that aims to connect the population to a natural system in which they are inserted and that, despite inhabiting it, they are sometimes unaware of it. . The Leça Valley therefore undergoes 4 actions for its development: plowing, sowing, fertilizing and staking. From the first action -“plowing”-, comes the attitude of working in a territory taking into account what it is suitable for. To this end, research work is carried out on it, in order to understand the conditions in which we find the land in question. Having analyzed the opportunities of the place, the act of “sowing” proposes the creation of a Higher Agricultural School that, taking advantage of the qualities and tradition of the place, promotes the transmission of knowledge and intergenerationality, bringing young people to this place. In addition, the Student Residence, which is directly linked to the school, supports the stay of these new inhabitants. From the new paradigm of agricultural workers in this territory, the issue of habitability conditions arises. From the context of welcoming immigrants who come here to work during the harvest period, an action of “fertilizing” arises, creating a Collective Temporary Residence taking into account issues of comfort and intimacy. From the desire expressed by some of these immigrants here to settle down with their families, the action of “staking” arises, with the creation of Permanent Multi-Family Residences so that these new inhabitants can settle here and stay, re-inhabiting abandoned areas and integrating the young population into this territory. Finally, it reflects on a hypothesis for the development of the site in the future, imagining that the implemented programs expand to adjacent land, creating new functions and connecting with each other. A presente investigação e o projeto visam valorizar e propor um (re) desenho da paisagem nas margens do Rio Leça, ao longo do território que o envolve no início do seu curso. Com base numa investigação sobre o Vale do Leça, procura-se uma alternativa ao futuro deste lugar, que possa reverter o abandono do território rural, justificando a sobreposição de ocupações com usos e intenções que o caracterizam. Assim, tomam-se as diferentes camadas existentes neste local como instrumento fundamental no ato do Projeto, ao conduzirem a uma obra que visa conectar a população a um sistema natural no qual se inserem e que, apesar de o habitarem, por vezes, o desconhecem. O Vale do Leça submete-se assim a 4 ações para o seu desenvolvimento: lavrar, semear, adubar e estacar. Da primeira ação -“lavrar”-, surge a atitude de trabalhar num território tendo em conta aquilo para que ele é adequado. Para isso, é feito um trabalho de investigação sobre o mesmo, de modo a perceber as condições em que encontramos o terreno em questão. Analisadas as oportunidades do lugar, o ato de “semear” propõe a criação de uma Escola Superior Agrária que, aproveitando as qualidades e a tradição do lugar, promove a transmissão de conhecimentos e a intergeracionalidade, trazendo jovens neste local. A par disto, a Residência de Estudantes, que se relaciona diretamente com a escola, vem apoiar a estadia destes novos habitantes. Do novo paradigma de trabalhadores agrícolas neste território, surge-nos a problemática das condições de habitabilidade. Do contexto do acolhimento de imigrantes que aqui se dirigem para trabalhar no período das colheita, surge ação de “adubar”, criando uma Residência Temporária Coletiva tendo em conta questões de conforto e intimidade. Da vontade manifestada por alguns destes imigrantes daqui se estabelecerem com a sua família, surge a ação de “estacar”, com a criação de Residências Permanentes Plurifamiliares para que estes novos habitantes aqui se instalem e permaneçam, reabitando áreas em abandono e integrando população jovem neste território. Por fim reflete-se sobre uma hipótese de desenvolvimento do local no futuro, imaginando que os programas implantados se expandem a terrenos adjacentes, criando novas funções e conectando-se entre si.     O azoto (N) é um dos mais importantes nutrientes para o crescimento das plantas, podendo ser aplicado de forma incorreta e/ou excessiva. Este elemento pode atingir as massas de água através de diversos processos, originando a sua contaminação. Assim sendo, surge a necessidade de analisar o impacto das práticas de gestão das culturas na qualidade do solo e das águas superficiais. Em particular, torna-se crucial analisar o impacto da aplicação de fertilizante solúvel em água, ou seja, da fertirrega, na qualidade destes ecossistemas. Este trabalho irá apresentar como caso de estudo um moderno olival de regadio na região do Alentejo, onde irão ser identificados os principais processos de perda de azoto para as massas de água superficiais e subterrâneas. Pretende, também, propor-se um esquema de monitorização, incluindo equipamentos e procedimentos, a adotar pela empresa gestora do olival. Nesse sentido, foram instalados equipamentos de monitorização da lixiviação e do escoamento superficial, nomeadamente cápsulas porosas abaixo e na zona das raízes das oliveiras (Olea europaea) para deteção da presença de nitratos (NO3-) na solução do solo e de eventuais fluxos para as águas subterrâneas. Procedeu-se também à avaliação dos débitos através da medição do volume de diversos gotejadores, por forma a aferir se a aplicação de nutrientes está a ser feita uniformemente. Os resultados demonstram que, à exceção de um dia em que o débito dos gotejadores difere substancialmente do estipulado pelo fabricante, se verificam apenas diferenças pontuais no caudal dos diversos gotejadores. Sendo que essas incongruências apenas apresentaram repercussões diretas na concentração de nitratos da solução fertilizante e não na solução de solo, admite-se que estas foram compensadas em todos os casos. Em muitas das cápsulas porosas foi impossível recolher solução de solo e verificou-se um impacto visível das flutuações das unidades de fertilizante de azoto (UF N) fornecidas ao sistema nas concentrações encontradas na solução de solo. Relativamente às concentrações, de um modo geral, estas foram superiores em camadas mais profundas do solo e houve uma tendência para encontrar valores mais elevados no perfil do solo do que na água de rega, o que leva a crer que o solo tem o potencial de acumular nitratos proveniente de fertilizações anteriores. No que diz respeito ao protocolo é sugerido o aumento do número de pontos de amostragem, bem como a sua repetição num ano diferente do corrente, em que se verifique a ocorrência de precipitação. Nitrogen (N) is one of the most important nutrients for plant growth and can be applied incorrectly and/or excessively. This element can reach water bodies through various processes, causing their contamination. Therefore, it arises the need to analyse the impact of crop management practices on the quality of soil and surface water arises. In particular, it becomes crucial to analyse the impact of water-soluble fertilizer application, i.e., fertigation, on the quality of these ecosystems. This work will present a case study of a modern and irrigated olive grove in Alentejo, where the main processes of N loss to surface and groundwater bodies will be identified. It is also intended to propose a monitoring scheme, including equipment and procedures, to be adopted by the olive grove management company. In that regard, leaching and surface runoff monitoring equipment was installed, specifically porous capsules below and in the root zone of the olive trees (Olea europaea) to detect the presence of nitrates (NO3-) in the soil solution and possible flows to groundwater. The flow rates were also evaluated by measuring the volume of several drippers, to assess whether the nutrient application is being done evenly. The results show that, except for one day when the flow rate of the drippers differed substantially from that stipulated by the manufacturer, there were only occasional differences in the flow rate of the different drippers. Since these inconsistencies only had direct repercussions on the nitrate concentration of the fertilizer solution and not on the soil solution, it is assumed that these were compensated in all cases. In many of the capsules it was impossible to collect soil solution and there was a visible impact of the fluctuations of the nitrogen fertilizer units (UF N) supplied on the concentrations found in the soil solution. Regarding the concentrations, in general, they were higher in deeper soil layers and there was a tendency to find higher values in the soil profile than in the irrigation water, which leads to believe that the soil has the potential to accumulate nitrates from previous fertilizations. As far as the protocol is concerned, it is suggested to increase the number of sampling points, as well as to repeat it in a year when precipitation occurs. Mestrado em Engenharia Agronómica.     A Realidade Aumentada pertence às tecnologias que incorporam a Indústria 4.0 e é utilizada com muita frequência pelas organizações de diferentes áreas de atuação. No contexto museológico internacional, a RA tem vindo a ser mais aplicada, no entanto, no caso específico de Portugal, existe ainda uma grande escassez no que toca à implementação desta tecnologia. O principal objetivo desta investigação foi determinar quais são os fatores de influência no sucesso ou no insucesso da implementação de Realidade Aumentada nos museus. A investigação teve como base um grupo de 5 museus portugueses, sob tutela da Direção Regional da Cultura do Norte, que integraram um projeto de implmenetação da Realidade Aumentada. De forma a cumprir com o objetivo do estudo foi utilizada a metodologia de estudo de casos múltiplos e o método de inquérito por entrevista. Após a recolha de dados, os mesmos foram tratados e apresentados e procedeu-se ao estudo qualitativo com recurso à análise descritiva e comparativa, com base na análise de conteúdo. Os resultados mostraram que os fatores de maior influência no sucesso ou insucesso da implementação de RA nos museus são a tecnologia de rede, a formação dos recursos humanos e os custos associados à RA. As conclusões deste estudo lançam luzes sobre a complexidade associada à integração da tecnologia de RA no contexto museológico, evidenciando, ainda, os motivos pelos quais a duração de projetos de RA em museus portugueses é tão curta. Estas perceções fornecem uma base para esforços futuros no aproveitamente da RA para melhorar as experiências museológicas, ao mesmo tempo que enfatizam a importância de uma compreensão abrangente dos desafios contextuais e das considerações envolvidas em tais implementações. Augmented Reality belongs to the technologies that embody Industry 4.0 and is used very frequently by organisations in different fields. In the international museum context, AR has been more widely applied, but in the specific case of Portugal, there is still a great lack of implementation of this technology. The main objective of this investigation was to determine what factores influence the success or failure of the implementation of Augmented Reality in museums. The investigation was based on a group of 5 Portuguese museums, under the supervision of the Direção Regional da Cultura do Norte, which were part of a project to implement Augmented Reality. In order to fulfil these objectives, the multiple case study methodology and the interview survey method were used. After collecting the data, they were processed and presented and a qualitative study was carried out using descriptive and comparative analysis, based on content analysis. The results showed that the factors that most influence the success or failure of implementing AR in museums are network technology, human resource training and the costs associated with AR. The conclusions of this study shed light on the complexity associated with integrating AR technology into the museum context, and also hilight the reasons why the duraction of the project in the different museums was so short. These insights provide a basis for future efforts to harness AR to enhance museum experiences, while emphasising the importance of a comprehensive understanding of the contextual challenges and considerations involved in such implementations.

    O fenómeno em análise na presente dissertação representa um tema bastante debatido no atual contexto de digitalização e globalização, com importância crescente para as empresas de diversas áreas de atividade, uma vez que a correlação entre empreendedorismo e digitalização pode servir como vantagem competitiva. Por este motivo, torna-se pertinente estudar o impacto que a digitalização terá na atividade empreendedora. No entanto, é necessário, numa primeira fase, compreender a relação entre as variáveis, de forma a preceder se estas se relacionam e de que forma o fazem e descobrir quais as tecnologias inerentes à digitalização que terão impacto na atividade empreendedora. Para tal, na realização desta dissertação foram levantadas várias questões “Qual o impacto que a digitalização poderá ter na atividade empreendedora nos países da UE?”, “Qual a relação entre a digitalização e a atividade empreendedora ?”, Qual o impacto do Crescimento económico e da Digitalização na Actividade empreendedora ?” e “Quais as variáveis/ drivers que poderão explicar a relação entre o Crescimento económico, Digitalização e a Actividade empreendedora?”. Para a realização deste estudo, e de forma a ser possível responder às 3 questões de investigação, foram utilizados dados disponíveis no The World Bank e na Eurostat para o período compreendido entre 2010 a 2022, relativos aos 4 países da União Europeia (Dinamarca, Finlândia, Noruega e Suécia), procedendo à utilização de métodos de estimação econométrica adequados e recorrentes para uma dada amostra com dados em painel; mais especificamente estimação de modelos lineares de efeitos fixos e efeitos aleatórios com correção ao enviesamento.Os resultados obtidos mostraram, notoriamente, que a digitalização tem um impacto significativo na atividade empreendedora, através da presença das tecnologias da informação intrínsecas, tanto nas empresas, como nos países. Deste modo, o presente estudo pode apoiar e contribuir no apoio à tomada de decisão com base na escolha e na adoção das tecnologias digitais na gestão operacional dass empresas, contribuindo para que estas consigam aproveitar todos os benefícios resultantes da digitalização e das suas tecnologias. The topic under analysis in this dissertation is a highly debated one in the current context of digitalisation and globalisation, with growing importance for companies in many different areas of activity, since the correlation between entrepreneurship and digitalisation can serve as a competitive advantage. For this reason, it is pertinent to study the impact that digitalisation will have on entrepreneurial activity. However, it's necessary to first understand the relationship between the variables to find out whether and how they are related and to discover which technologies inherent in digitalisation will have an impact on entrepreneurial activity. For this purpose, this dissertation asked several questions: "What impact could digitalisation have on entrepreneurial activity in European Union countries?", " What is the relationship between digitalisation and entrepreneurial activity?", " What is the impact of economic growth and digitalisation on entrepreneurial activity?" and " What variables/drivers could explain the relationship between economic growth, digitalisation and entrepreneurial activity?". To carry out this study, and in order to answer the research questions, data available from The World Bank and Eurostat were used for the period 2010 to 2022, for the 4 countries of the European Union (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden), using the appropriate and recurring econometric estimation methods for a given sample with panel data; more specifically, estimation of linear fixed effects and random effects models with bias correction. The results obtained clearly show that digitalisation has a significant impact on entrepreneurial activity, through the presence of intrinsic information technologies in both companies and countries. In this way, this study can provide support for decision-making based on the choice and adoption of digital technologies in the operational management of companies, helping them to take advantage of all the benefits resulting from digitalisation and its technologies.
