    Authors: Małgorzata Landmesser, Joanna;

    Abstract The paper deals with microeconometric techniques useful for the study of differences between groups of objects, methods that go beyond simple comparison of average values. Techniques for the decomposition of differences in distributions by constructing counterfactual distributions were considered. Using the Machado-Mata quantile regression approach the empirical decomposition of the inequalities in income distributions of one-person households in urban and rural areas was performed. We employed data from the Household Budget Survey for Poland in 2012. It was found that the tendency towards increased income inequalities between urban and rural residents when moving to the right of the income distribution can be observed. The rural residents are at a disadvantage. The decomposition of the inequalities revealed a growing share of the part explained by different characteristics of people and a declining share of the unexplained part, associated with the evaluation of those characteristics.

Strategic planning, use of Novel Systems, and Home automation are the solutions to adversely impacting agricultural development with new future possibilities for better Human Civilization. Home automated Novel Systems having alert and notifications features incorporate strategic planning and are intelligent, effective, and efficient with many more features is also useful for the Agriculture sector. The marketplace needs massive food, and current agricultural modernization approaches call for substantial energy inputs. Economic factors play a vital role. On the other hand, increased demand for food cereals as a result of population growth has led to an increase in the cost of agricultural commodities. Internet of things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have changed trends in Smart Agriculture. IoT and AI assisted Home Automated and Smart Agricultural Novel Systems created new future possibilities, and helps in strategic planning and impacting from Home Automation with alerts and notifications to large agriculture fields in a positive way by working as Executive Decision Support System (EDSS). It also has the potential to minimise farmer losses, produce high yield, significantly raise the quality of produced food, lower labour costs, boosts farmer incomes, and fully achieve agricultural modernization are the important features of Novel Systems with IoT and AI assisted clever agricultural techniques along with increasing agricultural productivity and helps for Global Economy and food security for Nations. The goal of the current research paper is to review various recent trends and explore new future possibilities, strategic planning, and the Impact of IoT and AI assisted Home Automated and Smart Agricultural Novel Systems in Climate Change and Monsoon Pattern Change scenarios.

    Abstract Discussions of the 2014 genocide committed by the Islamic State against the Êzidîs (also known as ‘Yazidis’ or ‘Yezidis’) have generally focused on murder, slavery and sexual exploitation. In this paper we analyze the destruction of Êzidî tangible and intangible cultural heritage as a significant facet of the Islamic State’s policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide. Evidence of destruction is collected and presented in context with other criminal acts. In international discourse the destruction of cultural heritage sites is most often placed under the heading of war crime. Several convictions by the ICTY and the conviction of Malian Islamist Al-Mahdi by the ICC are well-known. However, heritage destruction may also be prosecuted as the crime of persecution, a crime against humanity. Numerous indictments and convictions before international courts attest to the viability of this approach. Finally, as per explicit caselaw of the ICJ and ICTY, destruction of tangible heritage also serves as evidence of the special intent to destroy a protected group under the crime of genocide. The Êzidî are an endogamous community at home in northern Iraq for whom faith and ethnic belonging are inextricably linked. Belief in God and TawûsÊ Malek (the highest angel), and reverence for Lalish as the holiest place on earth are the defining features of the Êzidî faith. Historic and sacred places are an essential part of the Êzidî identity and are considered vital to life by the local population. The Islamic State made no secret of its intention to eradicate the Êzidî community and commenced a policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide on 3 August 2014. All victims were abused and tortured. Male Êzidîs above the age of 12 were killed. Female Êzidîs were enslaved and traded in a complex and public network of sexual slavery. Boys were trained in ISIS camps and militarized. Those who fled to Mount Sinjar were besieged in order to ensure death from starvation, thirst and the blazing sun. Bases of economic support, such as olive groves and irrigation wells, were systematically destroyed and many areas of the Êzidî homeland were sown with landmines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to prevent the population from returning. We provide original research, evidence and context on the destruction of Êzidî tangible cultural heritage in the Bahzani/Bashiqa and Sinjar areas of northern Iraq. We present satellite imagery analysis conducted by the EAMENA project, drawing on data provided by Êzidî representatives. According to the Department of Yazidi Affairs in the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in the Kurdistan Regional Government 68 Êzidî sites were destroyed by the Islamic State. We consider 16 sites in the Bahzani/Bashiqa area and 8 in the Sinjar area to which access was possible and which could be documented. We conclude that the destruction of the cultural heritage of the Êzidî people constituted a war crime, a crime against humanity (persecution) and compelling evidence of genocidal intent. We recommend the consideration of cultural heritage destruction in any prosecution of atrocity crimes, especially the crime of genocide. Context This article was published in the peer-reviewed Asian Yearbook of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (AYHR), Volume 5, pp 111-144, DOI: 10.1163/9789004466180_006. The AYHR is edited by Professor Javaid Rehman, the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The version provided here is the author manuscript, i.e. the text after peer-review, but before typesetting.     Acrylamide is a compound detrimental to health, therefore, pursuant to the EU Commission Recommendation No. 2007/331/EC, it is necessery to monitor its content in food products with high level of carbohydrates. The objective of the paper was to determine the content level of acrylamide in some selected groups of cereal products. The determination was performed using a method of gas chromatography coupled with a tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). The method applied was characterized by a good coefficient of variation (RSD<5,9%) and by a limit of determining this compound in processed cereal products (except for bread products) represented by the detection limit of 37ug/kg. Among all the processed cereal products tested, crackers were the products with the highest amount of acrylamide: 859ug/kg, whereas oat flakes has the lowest level of acrylamide: 23ug/kg.     Authors: Małgorzata Landmesser, Joanna;

    Abstract Discussions of the 2014 genocide committed by the Islamic State against the Êzidîs (also known as ‘Yazidis’ or ‘Yezidis’) have generally focused on murder, slavery and sexual exploitation. In this paper we analyze the destruction of Êzidî tangible and intangible cultural heritage as a significant facet of the Islamic State’s policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide. Evidence of destruction is collected and presented in context with other criminal acts. In international discourse the destruction of cultural heritage sites is most often placed under the heading of war crime. Several convictions by the ICTY and the conviction of Malian Islamist Al-Mahdi by the ICC are well-known. However, heritage destruction may also be prosecuted as the crime of persecution, a crime against humanity. Numerous indictments and convictions before international courts attest to the viability of this approach. Finally, as per explicit caselaw of the ICJ and ICTY, destruction of tangible heritage also serves as evidence of the special intent to destroy a protected group under the crime of genocide. The Êzidî are an endogamous community at home in northern Iraq for whom faith and ethnic belonging are inextricably linked. Belief in God and TawûsÊ Malek (the highest angel), and reverence for Lalish as the holiest place on earth are the defining features of the Êzidî faith. Historic and sacred places are an essential part of the Êzidî identity and are considered vital to life by the local population. The Islamic State made no secret of its intention to eradicate the Êzidî community and commenced a policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide on 3 August 2014. All victims were abused and tortured. Male Êzidîs above the age of 12 were killed. Female Êzidîs were enslaved and traded in a complex and public network of sexual slavery. Boys were trained in ISIS camps and militarized. Those who fled to Mount Sinjar were besieged in order to ensure death from starvation, thirst and the blazing sun. Bases of economic support, such as olive groves and irrigation wells, were systematically destroyed and many areas of the Êzidî homeland were sown with landmines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to prevent the population from returning. We provide original research, evidence and context on the destruction of Êzidî tangible cultural heritage in the Bahzani/Bashiqa and Sinjar areas of northern Iraq. We present satellite imagery analysis conducted by the EAMENA project, drawing on data provided by Êzidî representatives. According to the Department of Yazidi Affairs in the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in the Kurdistan Regional Government 68 Êzidî sites were destroyed by the Islamic State. We consider 16 sites in the Bahzani/Bashiqa area and 8 in the Sinjar area to which access was possible and which could be documented. We conclude that the destruction of the cultural heritage of the Êzidî people constituted a war crime, a crime against humanity (persecution) and compelling evidence of genocidal intent. We recommend the consideration of cultural heritage destruction in any prosecution of atrocity crimes, especially the crime of genocide. Context This article was published in the peer-reviewed Asian Yearbook of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (AYHR), Volume 5, pp 111-144, DOI: 10.1163/9789004466180_006. The AYHR is edited by Professor Javaid Rehman, the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The version provided here is the author manuscript, i.e. the text after peer-review, but before typesetting.     Authors: Mojska, H.; Gielecinska, I.; Szponar, L.;

    Acrylamide is a compound detrimental to health, therefore, pursuant to the EU Commission Recommendation No. 2007/331/EC, it is necessery to monitor its content in food products with high level of carbohydrates. The objective of the paper was to determine the content level of acrylamide in some selected groups of cereal products. The determination was performed using a method of gas chromatography coupled with a tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). The method applied was characterized by a good coefficient of variation (RSD<5,9%) and by a limit of determining this compound in processed cereal products (except for bread products) represented by the detection limit of 37ug/kg. Among all the processed cereal products tested, crackers were the products with the highest amount of acrylamide: 859ug/kg, whereas oat flakes has the lowest level of acrylamide: 23ug/kg.
