    Studies on physiological and biochemical processes in crops are highly relevant for breeders to produce hybrids with high yield. Two different maturity groups of maize hybrids were tested in this study. The research site was located at the Látókép Experimental Station of the University of Debrecen and the experiment lasted for 2 years. The examined nitrogen ranges were separated into two parts. Firstly, the effects of nitrogen fertilizer ranging from 120–300 kg ha−1 were examined, supplemented with a constant, high-level P2O5 and K2O. Secondly, the optimal ratio of N:P:K was measured. In order to monitor the health status of maize hybrids, stress indicators including the activity of ascorbate peroxidase (APX), and superoxide dismutase (SOD), the rate of lipid peroxidation (LP), and grain yield were measured. The samples were taken in five phenological stages. Variance analysis based on nitrogen fertilizer showed variation in sampling times and fertilizers on APX, LP, and SOD. Variance analysis based on NPK indicated variation in sampling times, years, and fertilizer levels on APX, LP, and SOD. Correlation analysis showed that yield correlated negatively with SOD during the use of NPK fertilizer, as the use of nitrogen fertilizer cannot make corrections to yield with SOD but phosphorus and potassium can correlate with yield, and SOD. Principal component analysis showed that NPK5 and N5 had maximum stability and effect on yield. The activity of APX had the highest value during silking, and LP was in the V14 leaf stage. The correlation and principal component analysis showed that silking and the V14 leaf stage are the most important stages for yield, thus, higher attention must be paid to these stages in the LP and the activation of APX to achieve maximum yield.

    Internet of Things (IoT) environments are widely employed in industrial applications including intelligent transportation systems, healthcare systems, and building energy management systems. For such environments of highly sensitive data, adapting scalable and flexible communication with efficient security is vital. Research investigated wireless Ad-hoc/mesh networking, while Attribute Based Encryption (ABE) schemes have been highly recommended for IoT. However, a combined implementation of both mesh networking and Key-Policy Attribute Based Encryption (KPABE) on resource-constrained devices has been rarely addressed. Hence, in this work, an integrated system that deploys a lightweight KPABE security built on wireless mesh networking is proposed. Implementation results show that the proposed system ensures flexibility and scalability of self-forming and cooperative mesh networking in addition to a fine-grained security access structure for IoT nodes. Moreover, the work introduces a case study of an enabled scenario at a school building for optimizing energy efficiency, in which the proposed integrated system architecture is deployed on IoT sensing and actuating devices. Therefore, the encryption attributes and access policy are well-defined, and can be adopted in relevant IoT applications. 2013 IEEE.     Bu çalışmada, genel tuzluluk toleransını farklı morfolojik ve fizyolojik özelliklerdeki değişiklikler ile ilişkilendirerek patates (Solanum tuberosum L.) bitkilerinin tuzluluk toleransındaki çeşit farklılıklarının araştırılması hedeflenmiştir. Ticari olarak kullanılan on dokuz patates çeşidi kontrollü serada 25-18 (± 2) ° C (gündüz/gece) sıcaklık ,% 70 bağıl nem, tuz uygulanmayan ve 5 dS m-1 NaCl koşulları altında 90 gün süre ile yetiştirilmiştir. Bu amaçla, yumrular toprak: torf: vermikülit (3:1:1) içeren 14L’lik saksılara dikilmiştir. Tuz uygulamalarına, tüm fidelerin çıkışından 1 hafta sonra başlanmıştır. Patates bitkilerinin tuz stresine toleransı, görsel zararlanma skalası, hücre membran zararlanma oranı ve lipit peroksidasyonunun göstergesi olan malondialdehit (MDA) içeriği ile belirlenmiştir. Yaprak oransal su kapsamı (YOSK), turgor kaybı (TK) ve toplam çözünür protein (TÇP) içeriği de incelenmiştir. Ayrıca bitkilerin yaprak dokularının protein profilleri SDS-PAGE ile değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, değerlendirilen 19 patates çeşidi içerisinden Bettina, Challenger, Granola, Lady Claire, Musica ve Orchestra çeşitlerinin tuz stresine en duyarlı, Desiree ve Russet Burbank çeşitlerinin ise tuz stresine en toleranslı çeşitler olduğu belirlenmiştir. Veriler, düşük hücre membran zararı ve MDA içeriğinin Desiree ve Russet Burbank çeşitlerini nispeten tuza toleranslı çeşitler yaptığını göstermiştir. Ayrıca, görsel zararlanma skalası ve SDS-PAGE protein profillerinin de patates çeşitlerinin tuz stresine toleransında biyobelirteç olarak kullanılabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır. This investigation was aimed to explore the varietal differences in salinity tolerance of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) plants by linking the overall salinity tolerance with changes in different morphological and physiological characteristics. Nineteen currently used potato cultivars were grown under controlled conditions in greenhouse at 25-18 (±2) °C (day/night), 70% relative humidity under non-saline and 5dS m-1 NaCl conditions for 90 days. For this purpose, tubers were planted in 14L pots, containing soil: peat: vermiculite (3:1:1). Salt treatment was started 1 week after all the seedlings where emerged. Salt stress tolerance of potato plants were determined with visual damage scale, cell membrane injury analysis and malondialdehyde (MDA) content, the indicator of lipid peroxidation. Leaf relative water content (RWC), loss of turgidity (LT) and total soluble protein (TSP) content were also examined. In addition, the protein profiles of leaf tissues of plants were evaluated by SDS-PAGE. In conclusion; among 19 potato cultivars evaluated cvs. Bettina, Challenger, Granola, Lady Claire, Musica and Orchestra were the most susceptible, cvs. Desiree and Russet Burbank were the most tolerant to salt stress. The data indicated that the low cell membrane injury and MDA content made cvs. Desiree and Russet Burbank relatively salt-tolerant cultivars. Besides, it is concluded that, visual damage scale and SDS-PAGE protein profiles also could be used as biomarkers in salt stress tolerance of potato cultivars.

    Se evaluó el efecto del desamargado, la extrusión y el secado por aspersión sobre la capacidad antioxidante y los compuestos fenólicos totales en harinas no desgrasadas y desgrasadas de tres genotipos de lupino andino (Altagracia, Andenes y Yunguyo). El contenido de fenólicos totales (TPC; método Folin-Ciocalteu) y la capacidad antioxidante (DPPH y ABTS+) se evaluaron por espectrofotometría. Los resultados mostraron que los procesos tecnológicos disminuyeron significativamente (p ≤ 0,05) antioxidantes y compuestos fenólicos. El lupino amargo (muestra de control) tenía una mayor capacidad de TPC y antioxidante (p ≤ 0,05) que las muestras procesadas. En muestras no desgrasadas y desgrasadas, el TPC de las muestras procesadas varió entre 0,64 - 1,10 y 0,75 - 1,33 mg de ácido gálico equivalente/g b.s., en muestras no desgrasadas y desgrasadas, respectivamente. La capacidad antioxidante DPPH varió entre 2,87 - 4,10 y 3,12 - 4,73 μmol Trolox/g b.s, mientras que la capacidad antioxidante ABTS+ varió entre 50,65 - 75,56 y 61,63 - 76,88 μmol Trolox/g b.s., en muestras no desgrasadas y desgrasadas, respectivamente. Por otro lado, los lípidos influyeron negativamente en la cuantificación de TPC; por lo tanto, las muestras desgrasadas tenían un TPC más alto.

Under appropriate conditions, worms eat agricultural waste and reduce the volume by 40 to 60%. Vermicompost produced by the activity of earthworms is rich in macro and micro nutrients, vitamins, growth hormones, enzymes such as proteases, amylases, lipase, cellulase and chitinase and immobilized microflora. The enzymes continue to disintegrate organic matter even after they have been ejected from the worms. Reduced use of water for irrigation, reduced pest attack, reduced termite attack, reduced weed growth; faster rate of seed germination and rapid seedlings growth and development; greater numbers of fruits per plant (in vegetable crops) and greater numbers of seeds per year (in cereal crops) are only some of the beneficial effects of the vermicompost usage in agricultural production. Earthworms and vermicompost can boost horticultural production without agrochemicals. In spite of the benefits associated with vermicompost, its use is not widespread yet. This review attempts as increasing awareness of this local soil amendment.

    In the current business environment, which has radically changed due to either socio-economic turmoil caused by economic or health crises (such as the COVID-19 pandemic) or due to technology and digitalization, internal audit has gained an important role within companies. Thus, in the last seventy years, internal audit has developed and evolved from being the function that controls accounting and financial data, to becoming the strategic function that improves governance processes for shareholders and management. The internal auditor helps an organization to meet its goals by providing a systematic and disciplined approach for assessing and improving the effectiveness of risk management and governance processes. Only an effective internal audit can achieve its tasks properly. Efficiency depends on the subordination level of the internal audit function (this needs to be adequate for the internal audit to be independent and objective). Efficiency also depends on the professional qualification and practical experience of internal audit staff, on the engagement’s strategy, as well as on activities and added value for the company, and on its continuous improvement capacity. This research aims to analyse the perception of professional practitioners within Romanian professional bodies, both from the perspective of internal auditors who do this service based on audit engagements performed at company level, but also from the perspective of employees working in these companies’ internal audit departments. The main goal is to create and shape a holistic framework to be used for assessing the added value of internal audit based on stakeholders’ perceptions. The main results obtained highlight the fundamental role of the quality of human capital and of corporate governance at company level. Management will take responsibility for implementing the auditor’s recommendations only based on an effective communication and reporting of audit observations. At the same time, the internal auditor’s integrity, independence, objectivity, and competencies represent the foundation of an internal audit function that has all the prerequisites for gaining management’s trust, support, and cooperation. Finally, the results of this research show the importance of the organizational context in which the audit function is organised. According to the worldwide well-established three-line defence model, the audit function is the last line of defence against fraud or non-compliance, thus ensuring the preservation of the company’s resources.

    This article discusses trends in the Russian labour market which reflect changes brought by digitization, changing gender roles, generational characteristics of the labour force, etc. Special attention is paid to the processes of flexibilization, which, in particular, result in such a phenomenon as “precarious employment”. The authors consider the horizontal career as one of the trends, which allows maintaining motivation and involvement when reaching the “ceiling” of a vertical career, as well as the specifics of working in a remote format and the attitude of employers to this format of work. The conclusions in this paper are based on the data from a sociological research conducted by the headhunting company Kontakt InterSearch Russia in 2019-2020.

    Agriculture is amongst the domains of great interest both for European and national level because it has to ensure safe and quality products to the population. Therefore, the purpose of this article is of presenting one of the modalities of financing the Romanian agriculture from the European funds, in order to develop it and place quality products on the market. Nationally there is the Agency for Payments and Intervention for Agriculture, which is ancillary to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and which manages European funds for implementing the proceedings for supporting the farmers from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund. This agency was founded based on the law no. 1/2004 and finances Romanian agriculture through some proceedings such as single payment scheme on surface, payment scheme for agricultural practices which are beneficial for the environment and climate, payment scheme for young farmers, paired support for vegetal and zoo technical sector, proceedings for agricultural environment and climate, ecological agriculture, payments for areas having natural restraints, payments for animals’ wellbeing, investments for developing weald areas.

    The results of the assessment of biological resources in the dumps of the Borodinskiy coal mine are given. The habitats of the same ecological capacity are distinguished according to the developed classification and interpretation of space imagery. The habitats are allocated according to the technology of recultivation (4 options), the tendency of the formation of post-technogenic ecosystems (succession – 4) and the age of the dump (formation stage – 4). For each type of habitat, the composition and productivity of grass cover, forest stand, berries, mushrooms, and game are determined. Grass cover is recommended to be used “in the lifetime state”, for example, as honey plants. Haymaking and grazing leads to the degradation of vegetation cover in mountain dumps. The zonal norm of recultivated arable land (with the application of PSP) is reached not earlier than 30 years later. The experiments with planting crops (potatoes, carrots, beets, cucumbers) showed productivity significantly inferior to the zonal norm. Forest plantations (pine, spruce) are developing the most productive first site class and superior zonal norm. The most productive are zoochorny berries plants, while it should be borne in mind that the productivity of sea buckthorn for natural reasons drops rapidly. In addition, it creates a fire-hazardous structure of forest plantations. The yield of edible mushrooms symbiotic with tree species (pine, birch, aspen) is higher than the zonal norm by an order of magnitude. At the same time, in the first 3–4 years entomoparasites do not affect the fruit bodies of mushrooms (there are no worms). The animal population of the dumps is under strong pressure from synanthropic species (raven, forty, black kites), which are attracted by the city dump. At the same time, the productivity of hunting grounds at dumps is 4 times higher than the zonal norm, perhaps this is due to the protection regime of the coalmine. The methodical techniques used and the data obtained with their help allow us to estimate the biological resources of any dumps and predict (modeling) their states. The materials should be applied in assessing the projected impact of mining and the formation of rock dumps on biological resources and planning their further economic use.

    Patates bitkisinin yetiştirilmesindeki en önemli sorunların başında hastalıklara olan duyarlılıkları gelmektedir. Verimde önemli derecede kayba neden olan ve yetiştiriciliği kısıtlayan birçok hastalık etmeni vardır. Bu hastalık etmenlerinden birisi de fakültatif, saprofit bir fungus olan Alternaria solani (Ell. ve G. Martin) Sor.’dır. Bu etmen patateste erken yanıklık hastalığına neden olmaktadır. 2019 yılında Orta Karadeniz Geçit Kuşağı Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü deneme alanı ve laboratuvarında yürütülen çalışmada, bazı ticari tescilli patates çeşitleri, yerel patates çeşitleri ve üstün özellikleri olan bazı klonlar arasında yapılan melezlemeler ile oluşturulan varyasyondan gelen 594 adet klonun Alternaria solani’ye karşı reaksiyonları, koparılmış yaprak yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir. Hastalık reaksiyonlarının belirlenmesi için A. solani izolatına ait kültürlerin aktif olarak gelişen uç kısımlarından steril koşullarda alınan 5 mm çapındaki fungus diskleri beş tekerrür olacak şekilde uygulanmış ve kontrol amaçlı kullanılan yaprakçıklar üzerine sadece besi ortamı yerleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, A3/15 x Bafana kombinasyonuna ait klonların 70’i immün, 2’si toleranslı, 9’u hassas, 18’i aşırı hassas, Başçiftlik Beyazı x Lady Olympia kombinasyonuna ait klonların 168’inin immün, 1’inin dayanıklı, 4’ünün toleranslı, 5’inin hassas, 23’ünün ise aşırı hassas, T5/4 x Bafana kombinasyonuna ait klonların 209’unun immün, 2’sinin toleranslı, 7’sinin hassas, 46’sının ise aşırı hassas olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Böylelikle dayanıklı çeşitlerin geliştirilmesine katkı sağlamak amacıyla ıslah materyalinin durumları ortaya konulmuş olup seleksiyon kriteri olarak değerlendirilmiştir. One of the most important problems in the cultivation of potato plants is their susceptibility to diseases. There are many disease agents that cause significant loss in yield and limit cultivation. One of these agents is Alternaria solani (Ell. and G. Martin) Sor., a facultative saprophytic fungus. The pathogen fungus causes early blight disease in potatoes. In this study, which was carried out in the field and laboratory of the Central Black Sea Transition Zone Agricultural Research Institute in 2019, the reactions of 594 clones created by crosses between some commercially registered potato varieties, local potato varieties, and some clones with superior characteristics against A. solani were identified using the detached leaf method. In order to determine the disease reactions, 5 mm diameter fungus discs taken from the actively growing tips of the cultures of A. solani isolate under sterile conditions were placed on the leaflets in five replications, and only the PDA medium was placed on the leaflets used for control purposes. As a result of the research, of the clones belonging to the A3/15 x Bafana combination, 70 were immune, 2 were tolerant, 9 were susceptible, 18 were highly susceptible. 168 of the clones belonging to the Başçiftlik Beyazı x Lady Olympia combination were immune, 1 was resistant, 4 were tolerant, 5 were susceptible, 23 were highly susceptible. 209 of the clones belonging to T5/4 x Bafana combination were immune, 2 were tolerant, 7 were sensitive and 46 were highly susceptible. Thus, in order to contribute to the development of resistant varieties, the conditions of the breeding material were revealed and evaluated as selection criteria.

    Studies on physiological and biochemical processes in crops are highly relevant for breeders to produce hybrids with high yield. Two different maturity groups of maize hybrids were tested in this study. The research site was located at the Látókép Experimental Station of the University of Debrecen and the experiment lasted for 2 years. The examined nitrogen ranges were separated into two parts. Firstly, the effects of nitrogen fertilizer ranging from 120–300 kg ha−1 were examined, supplemented with a constant, high-level P2O5 and K2O. Secondly, the optimal ratio of N:P:K was measured. In order to monitor the health status of maize hybrids, stress indicators including the activity of ascorbate peroxidase (APX), and superoxide dismutase (SOD), the rate of lipid peroxidation (LP), and grain yield were measured. The samples were taken in five phenological stages. Variance analysis based on nitrogen fertilizer showed variation in sampling times and fertilizers on APX, LP, and SOD. Variance analysis based on NPK indicated variation in sampling times, years, and fertilizer levels on APX, LP, and SOD. Correlation analysis showed that yield correlated negatively with SOD during the use of NPK fertilizer, as the use of nitrogen fertilizer cannot make corrections to yield with SOD but phosphorus and potassium can correlate with yield, and SOD. Principal component analysis showed that NPK5 and N5 had maximum stability and effect on yield. The activity of APX had the highest value during silking, and LP was in the V14 leaf stage. The correlation and principal component analysis showed that silking and the V14 leaf stage are the most important stages for yield, thus, higher attention must be paid to these stages in the LP and the activation of APX to achieve maximum yield.

    Internet of Things (IoT) environments are widely employed in industrial applications including intelligent transportation systems, healthcare systems, and building energy management systems. For such environments of highly sensitive data, adapting scalable and flexible communication with efficient security is vital. Research investigated wireless Ad-hoc/mesh networking, while Attribute Based Encryption (ABE) schemes have been highly recommended for IoT. However, a combined implementation of both mesh networking and Key-Policy Attribute Based Encryption (KPABE) on resource-constrained devices has been rarely addressed. Hence, in this work, an integrated system that deploys a lightweight KPABE security built on wireless mesh networking is proposed. Implementation results show that the proposed system ensures flexibility and scalability of self-forming and cooperative mesh networking in addition to a fine-grained security access structure for IoT nodes. Moreover, the work introduces a case study of an enabled scenario at a school building for optimizing energy efficiency, in which the proposed integrated system architecture is deployed on IoT sensing and actuating devices. Therefore, the encryption attributes and access policy are well-defined, and can be adopted in relevant IoT applications. 2013 IEEE.     Bu çalışmada, genel tuzluluk toleransını farklı morfolojik ve fizyolojik özelliklerdeki değişiklikler ile ilişkilendirerek patates (Solanum tuberosum L.) bitkilerinin tuzluluk toleransındaki çeşit farklılıklarının araştırılması hedeflenmiştir. Ticari olarak kullanılan on dokuz patates çeşidi kontrollü serada 25-18 (± 2) ° C (gündüz/gece) sıcaklık ,% 70 bağıl nem, tuz uygulanmayan ve 5 dS m-1 NaCl koşulları altında 90 gün süre ile yetiştirilmiştir. Bu amaçla, yumrular toprak: torf: vermikülit (3:1:1) içeren 14L’lik saksılara dikilmiştir. Tuz uygulamalarına, tüm fidelerin çıkışından 1 hafta sonra başlanmıştır. Patates bitkilerinin tuz stresine toleransı, görsel zararlanma skalası, hücre membran zararlanma oranı ve lipit peroksidasyonunun göstergesi olan malondialdehit (MDA) içeriği ile belirlenmiştir. Yaprak oransal su kapsamı (YOSK), turgor kaybı (TK) ve toplam çözünür protein (TÇP) içeriği de incelenmiştir. Ayrıca bitkilerin yaprak dokularının protein profilleri SDS-PAGE ile değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, değerlendirilen 19 patates çeşidi içerisinden Bettina, Challenger, Granola, Lady Claire, Musica ve Orchestra çeşitlerinin tuz stresine en duyarlı, Desiree ve Russet Burbank çeşitlerinin ise tuz stresine en toleranslı çeşitler olduğu belirlenmiştir. Veriler, düşük hücre membran zararı ve MDA içeriğinin Desiree ve Russet Burbank çeşitlerini nispeten tuza toleranslı çeşitler yaptığını göstermiştir. Ayrıca, görsel zararlanma skalası ve SDS-PAGE protein profillerinin de patates çeşitlerinin tuz stresine toleransında biyobelirteç olarak kullanılabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır. This investigation was aimed to explore the varietal differences in salinity tolerance of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) plants by linking the overall salinity tolerance with changes in different morphological and physiological characteristics. Nineteen currently used potato cultivars were grown under controlled conditions in greenhouse at 25-18 (±2) °C (day/night), 70% relative humidity under non-saline and 5dS m-1 NaCl conditions for 90 days. For this purpose, tubers were planted in 14L pots, containing soil: peat: vermiculite (3:1:1). Salt treatment was started 1 week after all the seedlings where emerged. Salt stress tolerance of potato plants were determined with visual damage scale, cell membrane injury analysis and malondialdehyde (MDA) content, the indicator of lipid peroxidation. Leaf relative water content (RWC), loss of turgidity (LT) and total soluble protein (TSP) content were also examined. In addition, the protein profiles of leaf tissues of plants were evaluated by SDS-PAGE. In conclusion; among 19 potato cultivars evaluated cvs. Bettina, Challenger, Granola, Lady Claire, Musica and Orchestra were the most susceptible, cvs. Desiree and Russet Burbank were the most tolerant to salt stress. The data indicated that the low cell membrane injury and MDA content made cvs. Desiree and Russet Burbank relatively salt-tolerant cultivars. Besides, it is concluded that, visual damage scale and SDS-PAGE protein profiles also could be used as biomarkers in salt stress tolerance of potato cultivars.

    Se evaluó el efecto del desamargado, la extrusión y el secado por aspersión sobre la capacidad antioxidante y los compuestos fenólicos totales en harinas no desgrasadas y desgrasadas de tres genotipos de lupino andino (Altagracia, Andenes y Yunguyo). El contenido de fenólicos totales (TPC; método Folin-Ciocalteu) y la capacidad antioxidante (DPPH y ABTS+) se evaluaron por espectrofotometría. Los resultados mostraron que los procesos tecnológicos disminuyeron significativamente (p ≤ 0,05) antioxidantes y compuestos fenólicos. El lupino amargo (muestra de control) tenía una mayor capacidad de TPC y antioxidante (p ≤ 0,05) que las muestras procesadas. En muestras no desgrasadas y desgrasadas, el TPC de las muestras procesadas varió entre 0,64 - 1,10 y 0,75 - 1,33 mg de ácido gálico equivalente/g b.s., en muestras no desgrasadas y desgrasadas, respectivamente. La capacidad antioxidante DPPH varió entre 2,87 - 4,10 y 3,12 - 4,73 μmol Trolox/g b.s, mientras que la capacidad antioxidante ABTS+ varió entre 50,65 - 75,56 y 61,63 - 76,88 μmol Trolox/g b.s., en muestras no desgrasadas y desgrasadas, respectivamente. Under appropriate conditions, worms eat agricultural waste and reduce the volume by 40 to 60%. Vermicompost produced by the activity of earthworms is rich in macro and micro nutrients, vitamins, growth hormones, enzymes such as proteases, amylases, lipase, cellulase and chitinase and immobilized microflora. The enzymes continue to disintegrate organic matter even after they have been ejected from the worms. Reduced use of water for irrigation, reduced pest attack, reduced termite attack, reduced weed growth; faster rate of seed germination and rapid seedlings growth and development; greater numbers of fruits per plant (in vegetable crops) and greater numbers of seeds per year (in cereal crops) are only some of the beneficial effects of the vermicompost usage in agricultural production. Earthworms and vermicompost can boost horticultural production without agrochemicals. In spite of the benefits associated with vermicompost, its use is not widespread yet. This review attempts as increasing awareness of this local soil amendment.

    In the current business environment, which has radically changed due to either socio-economic turmoil caused by economic or health crises (such as the COVID-19 pandemic) or due to technology and digitalization, internal audit has gained an important role within companies. Thus, in the last seventy years, internal audit has developed and evolved from being the function that controls accounting and financial data, to becoming the strategic function that improves governance processes for shareholders and management. The internal auditor helps an organization to meet its goals by providing a systematic and disciplined approach for assessing and improving the effectiveness of risk management and governance processes. Only an effective internal audit can achieve its tasks properly. Efficiency depends on the subordination level of the internal audit function (this needs to be adequate for the internal audit to be independent and objective). Efficiency also depends on the professional qualification and practical experience of internal audit staff, on the engagement’s strategy, as well as on activities and added value for the company, and on its continuous improvement capacity. This research aims to analyse the perception of professional practitioners within Romanian professional bodies, both from the perspective of internal auditors who do this service based on audit engagements performed at company level, but also from the perspective of employees working in these companies’ internal audit departments. The main goal is to create and shape a holistic framework to be used for assessing the added value of internal audit based on stakeholders’ perceptions. The main results obtained highlight the fundamental role of the quality of human capital and of corporate governance at company level. Management will take responsibility for implementing the auditor’s recommendations only based on an effective communication and reporting of audit observations. At the same time, the internal auditor’s integrity, independence, objectivity, and competencies represent the foundation of an internal audit function that has all the prerequisites for gaining management’s trust, support, and cooperation. Finally, the results of this research show the importance of the organizational context in which the audit function is organised. According to the worldwide well-established three-line defence model, the audit function is the last line of defence against fraud or non-compliance, thus ensuring the preservation of the company’s resources.

    This article discusses trends in the Russian labour market which reflect changes brought by digitization, changing gender roles, generational characteristics of the labour force, etc. Special attention is paid to the processes of flexibilization, which, in particular, result in such a phenomenon as “precarious employment”. The authors consider the horizontal career as one of the trends, which allows maintaining motivation and involvement when reaching the “ceiling” of a vertical career, as well as the specifics of working in a remote format and the attitude of employers to this format of work. The conclusions in this paper are based on the data from a sociological research conducted by the headhunting company Kontakt InterSearch Russia in 2019-2020.
