    [Abstract]: The primary sector (and the natural resources that it uses) have always been such important and interesting for the economic study and for the development of the Galician economy too. On the other hand, Castelao is one of the most outstanding personalities in Galicia’s history and his book, Sempre en Galiza is one of the most recognized essays written in Galician. In this essay, Castelao studies the situation of the use of Galicia’s natural resourses and the need to make changes to improve their use. However, the present work is not restricted to Castelao's thought; rather starting from his economic thought and supported by contributions from previous and contemporary economists to Castelao, it is sought to develop an analysis of Galician thought of the 20th century on the use of Galicia’s natural resourses. From Castelao to Beiras. From Paz Andrade to Touriño, Leiceaga and González Laxe. Livestock, agriculture and fishing. Land and sea.     Efterfrågan av energi ökar på grund av den ökande globaliseringen i världen. För att transmittera och distribuera elektrisk effekt används transformatorer. ABB Power Grids AB är världsledande inom produktion av transmissionskomponenter däribland högspänningstransformatorer. Transformatorer är tidskrävande och komplext att tillverka vilket har lett till att all produktion hos ABB Power Grids idag sker manuellt. En av transformatorns mer framstående komponenter är kärnan som bidrar med en effektivare reglering till mindre förluster. Kärnan konstrueras av tusentals tunna elektroplåtar som staplas omlott på varandra och vävs ihop till en sammanhängande struktur, detta enligt ett kärnläggningsmönster. Plåtarna i sig är otympliga att hantera då de är långa, tunna och vassa. Manuell stackning av elektroplåtar har visat sig ge upphov till en del skador då lyften är många och slitsamma, därtill har plåtarna legat till grund för otäcka skärskador. I och med detta har ett intresse för automation väckts i hopp om att reducera arbetsskador. Vid första anblick kan kärnläggningen anses vara perfekt för automation då arbetsmomentet är enkelt och repetitiva. Incitamentet för automation ökar ytterligare i hänseende till arbetsmiljön. Komplikationerna uppstår när arbetet bryts ner. Under ytan är det en utstuderad process där krav på produkt är höga med strikta toleranser. Därtill har arbetet beskrivits som något man behöver en viss känsla för då arbetet anpassas genom hela processen. Detta försvårar automation betydligt då dagens tillverkningsprocess är svår att fullt ut härma med robotar eller portaler. Därför behövs avgränsningar behöver göras för att hitta avvägning mellan slitsamt arbete och finess. Området för automation begränsas därför till stackningsprocessen. Genom att fokusera på stackningen flyttas de slitsamma och farliga lyften från manuell arbetskraft till automation samtidigt som kontroll, justering och slutmontage behålls manuellt. På så sätt kan produktionen av transformatorkärnor göras lämpad för automation då det allra mest tidskrävande momenten inte behöver utföras av människan. Detta är innebär emellertid inte att automation görs utan svårigheter. Kärnornas storlekar samt den precision som krävs vid läggning sätter höga krav på den automationslösning som ska implementeras. För att en automationslösning ska klara av att stacka alla de typer av kärnor som idag tillverkas på ABB Power Grids kommer stora strukturer behöva upprättas för att utföra arbeten med extrem precision. Detta sätter höga noggrannhetskrav på de automationsmodeller som upprättas. Vidare, produktionsområdet där automation idag avses är väl utstakat och anpassat efter manuellt arbete. Detta innebär att automationsmodeller som idag finns på marknaden behöver omarbetas för att passa in i dagens produktion hos ABB Power Grids. Slutligen måste frågan ställas om modifierade lösningar kan göras noggranna nog eller om större ingrepp på produktionsområden behövs göras. I förstudien presenteras olika automationsmodeller som har utvecklats för att integreras hos ABB Power Grids, dessa är Portalmodeller, Länkarmsmodeller och Inmatningsmodeller. Utformningsförslagen har sedan analyserats och jämförts för att ge ABB PG ett utgångsläge för vidareutveckling av automatisering av stackningsmomentet. Resultatet blev fem automationsmodeller, två använder sig av länkarmsrobotar och tre är portaler. Vidare så har två automatiserade inmatningsmodeller upprättats för att ytterligare reducera den manuella hanteringen av elektroplåtar. ABB Power Grids rekommenderas att inledningsvis gå vidare med Robotmodell 1.

    [ES] Hoy en día, gran parte de nuestra dieta está compuesta por alimentos que provienen de los árboles. Las raíces son las encargadas de absorber, almacenar y transportar los recursos que obtienen del agua, y en este proyecto nos centraremos en conocer las características que las rodean a varios niveles de profundidad para así saber cómo se está gestionando el agua en el suelo y planificar de una manera más acertada la cantidad de agua necesaria para evitar el estrés hídrico y el riego excesivo. Para llevarlo a cabo, utilizaremos sensores de humedad del suelo controlados por una placa con el procesador ESP32 que programaremos para que lea correctamente estos datos, los interprete, y muestre de la forma más clara posible la información de los distintos niveles mencionados. Otro de los fines de este proyecto es que sea accesible para todos, para lo cual es imprescindible que sea económico y que se ha conseguido gracias a que sus componentes tienen un bajo coste. Además, se ha diseñado un sistema de carga solar para que el dispositivo funcione de manera limpia y también así alargar la duración de la batería. La placa incorpora conectividad inalámbrica Wifi que enviará los datos a ThingSpeak. [EN] Today, much of our diet consists of food that comes from trees. The roots are responsible for absorbing, storing and transporting resources obtained from water, and in this project we have focused on knowing the characteristics of moisture that surround them at various levels of depth to know how water in the soil is being managed, and be able to plan more accurately the amount of water needed to avoid stress and excessive watering. To carry it out, we will use soil moisture sensors controlled by an ESP32 board, which we will have programmed to read this data correctly, and interpret and display it as clearly as possible on a screen so that any user can check the information of the different levels mentioned. Another aim of this project is that it should be accessible to all, for which it is essential that it is economical and that it has been achieved thanks to the low cost of its components. In addition, a solar charging system for the device has been designed to work cleanly and to extend the battery life. The used ESP32 board incorporates Wi-Fi that will send the data to ThingSpeak.

    In recent years, the train's punctuality, Sweden's ranking in the European Railway Performance Index and the train industry's customer satisfaction have decreased. The largest and most influential players in the train industry are Trafikverket and SJ AB, which are two state-owned organizations. The low customer satisfaction in the train industry is based on SJ AB’s failure to deliver the latest traffic information in case of delay. Since Trafikverket manages the majority of the railway network and SJ AB is Sweden's largest train operator, there is a high degree of mutual dependence between them in order for each organization to be able to conduct its business. At present, there is a clear division of responsibility between these actors regarding how and where the traffic information is distributed. Where the Trafikverket is responsible for conveying all information on its website and on the signs while SJ AB is responsible for conveying information on its website and in its application, as well as via textmessage and mail communication. The processes for communication between the actors regarding delays, track changes and other changes in the journey are done manually with digital tools as support. Today, several uncertainties are experienced in these processes, based on the fact that traffic control at SJ AB currently does not receive any confirmation from Trafikverket if any changes have been made. Due to these factors, this study will investigate the flow of information between SJ traffic control and the Trafikverket’s train services. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis was to identify existing communications, more specifically information flows of traffic data, between the organizations and their passengers, along with identifying possible improvements in the information flows through digitization. The thesis also explores the change opportunities for a department with many manual processes. The study was conducted with a multi-method structure consisting of a literature study, observation study, questionnaire study, interview study and benchmarking. During the observation, questionnaire and interview study, the focus was on employees at SJ traffic control and other relevant departments at SJ AB and the benchmarking was conducted through external interviews. This led to the identification of the main reasons of mismanagement of traffic information and best practices. This was later analyzed with the help of collected theory, which then led to discussion, conclusion and recommendations to SJ AB. It’s obvious that traffic information has low status within SJ AB as well as the interorganizational alliance. This has hampered the development of internal processes related to managing traffic information and therefore the processes lack standardized procedures and structured routines. The main reasons of mismanagement of traffic information depend on the human factor and specific individuals. This is based on the fact that it was clear that both traffic controls perceived the received traffic information difficult to interpret and unstructured, this depending on who sent the information. This due to the fact that the individuals use varying expressions and internal technical language. To be able to improve and in the future automate the information flows between the actors a standardized working procedure with associated technical language is required in the industry. To establish a technical language, the status of the traffic information must be increased within the organizations and a dictionary for which expressions should be used, where all used expressions are listed and defined. Additionally, a clearer goal of the alliance is required.

    Este trabajo de grado consiste en el desarrollo de un robot móvil que tiene como función limpiar las líneas de las canchas de tenis de polvo de ladrillo que tengan una en sus instalaciones y también para los propietarios de canchas de tenis de polvo de ladrillo con el fin de demostrar un proceso de diseño para la creación de un prototipo. Para desarrollar este proyecto se realiza una búsqueda y recolección de información en base a los robots móviles terrestres en donde su funcionalidad sea seguir caminos programados, seguir trayectorias o seguir puntos de interés en el entorno, con lo mencionado anterior, se plantearon diferentes conceptos que suplen dichas necesidades, mediante el diseño concurrente de ingeniería mecatrónica para después seleccionar el más adecuado para el desarrollo del robot móvil. Para la visualización del robot se utilizaron diferentes tipos de herramientas como SolidWorks, Pyvista y Blender. Finalmente se desarrolla la construcción prototipo del robot móvil utilizando herramientas propias y máquinas de la Universidad Autónoma de Occidente que fueron proporcionadas por el taller de manufactura. This degree work consists of the development of a mobile robot whose function is to clean the lines of the brick dust tennis courts that have one in their facilities and for the owners of brick dust tennis courts in order to demonstrate a design process for the creation of a prototype. To develop this project, a search and collection of information based on land mobile robots where its functionality is to follow programmed paths, follow trajectories or follow points of interest in the environment, with the above mentioned, different concepts that meet these needs were raised, through concurrent design of mechatronic engineering to then select the most appropriate for the development of the mobile robot. For the visualization of the robot different types of software were used such as SolidWorks, Pyvista and blender.     With the rapid development of computers and their proven usability in manufacturing environments, simulation-based optimisation has become a recognised tool for proposing near-optimal results related to manufacturing system design and improvement. As a world-leading manufacturer within their field, Volvo GTO in Skövde, Sweden is constantly seeking internal development and has in recent years discovered the possibilities provided by flow simulation. The main aim of this thesis is to provide an optimal buffer size of a new post-assembly and packaging line (Konpack) yet to be constructed. A by-product of the flow simulation optimisation project in form of a flow simulation process evaluation was also requested. The simulation project started with a pre-study including the development of the frame of reference and an analysis of the literature focused on merging Lean philosophy with simulation-based optimisation. The simulation model was built based on both historical and estimated data. The optimisation results showed different buffer size alternatives depending on the throughput to be achieved, these are discussed, and near-optimal solutions presented for decision-making. Additionally, four experiments were carried out, both contributing to the model’s credibility as well as providing new and valuable insight to the stakeholders. The conclusions drawn from the optimisation and experiments indicate that Konpack will be able to meet the established throughput goals, provided that the suggested near-optimal solutions are considered. The experiments also unanimously point to the fact that Konpack has a built-in overcapacity, utilizable by optimising certain suggested input parameters. Additionally, an evaluation of the completeness of the standard simulation process employed by Volvo GTO is provided, concluding that no major changes are needed. Nevertheless, there is always room for improvement. Hence, future work regarding the flow simulation process at Volvo GTO is proposed.

    Este trabajo presenta la simulación de un robot tipo salamandra, controlado mediante neurocontrol motor, con señales generadas con redes neuronales llamadas CPGs (central pattern generator), que se emplean para simular la locomoción de una salamandra en un robot y ambiente virtuales, y así mimetizar el movimiento que hace al caminar en un terreno, con el objetivo de guiar en un futuro su posible construcción y dar solución al problema que representa para sujetos humanos la exploración en terrenos contaminados o de riesgo. This work presents the simulation of a salamander-type robot, controlled by motor neurocontrol, with signals generated with neural networks called CPGs (central pattern generator), which are used to simulate the locomotion of a salamander in a virtual robot and environment, and thus to mimic the movement it makes when walking on a terrain, with the aim of guiding its possible construction in the future and providing a solution to the problem that exploration in contaminated or risky terrain represents for human subjects.     En omfattande transformering av marknadsmiljön har bidragit till funderingar och frågor gällande om kundrelationshantering är tillräckligt utvecklat för att hänga med i digitaliseringens framfart och lever upp till dagens konsumentförväntningar. Den litteratur som finns påvisar trots allt en hög grad av misslyckande relaterat till implementering av kundrelationshantering. Teori kring varför misslyckanden uppstår är dock bristfällig, men befintlig litteratur pekar på att bristfällig förståelse gällande framväxande teknologi kan vara en bidragande orsak. Syftet med studien är att förstå hur digitaliseringen påverkar kundens informationssökning och vad detta kan få för konsekvenser på relationen till säljaren. För att kunna besvara syftet genomfördes en empirisk undersökning baserad på en kvalitativ design där fem köpare och fem säljare inom bilbranschen intervjuades. Resultatet påvisar att det digitala informationsflödet bidrar till att det för kunden har blivit bekvämare att söka och hitta information. En aspekt som till följd av digitaliseringen visat sig vara den avgörande faktorn gällande utformningen av kundens externa informationssökning. Resultatet påvisar dock att kunden i större utsträckning uppfattar osäkerhet och risk om information hämtas från internet, detta på grund av svårigheten att avgöra vad för information som är korrekt. Studien bidrar till ett förtydligande gällande kundrelationshanteringens utformning för att bekräfta dagens konsumentförväntningar i och med en digitalisering av marknadsmiljön. Hanteringen av säljarens relation till kunden bör utformas som konsulterande med fokus på informationsbekräftelse och rådgivning. Relationen till säljaren är viktig för kunden, men ur ett kognitivt anseende snarare än ett affektivt. An extensive transformation of the market environment has contributed to reflections and questions regarding whether customer relationship management is sufficiently developed to keep up with the progress of digitization and live up to today’s consumer expectations. Nevertheless, the existing literature demonstrates a high degree of failure related to the implementation of customer relationship management. However, theory around why failures occur is lacking, but existing literature points to a lack of understanding regarding emerging technology as a contributing cause. The purpose of the study is to understand how digitization affects the customer’s search for information and what consequences this may have on the relationship with the seller. In order to answer the purpose, an empirical investigation based on a qualitative design was carried out where five buyers and five sellers from the car dealer industry were interviewed. Results demonstrate that the digital information flow contributes to the fact that it has become more convenient for the customer to search and find information. An aspect which, as a result of digitization, has proven to be the decisive factor regarding the design of the customer’s external information search. The results show, however, that the customer perceives uncertainty and risk to a greater extent if information is obtained from the internet, this due to the difficulty in determining what information is correct. The study contributes to a clarification regarding the design of customer relationship management in order to confirm today’s consumer expectations with a digitization of the market environment. The handling of the seller’s relationship with the customer should be designed as consulting with a focus on information confirmation and guidance. The relationship with the seller is important to the customer, but from a cognitive rather than an affective perspective.

In this essay, Castelao studies the situation of the use of Galicia’s natural resourses and the need to make changes to improve their use. However, the present work is not restricted to Castelao's thought; rather starting from his economic thought and supported by contributions from previous and contemporary economists to Castelao, it is sought to develop an analysis of Galician thought of the 20th century on the use of Galicia’s natural resourses.     Efterfrågan av energi ökar på grund av den ökande globaliseringen i världen. För att transmittera och distribuera elektrisk effekt används transformatorer. ABB Power Grids AB är världsledande inom produktion av transmissionskomponenter däribland högspänningstransformatorer. Transformatorer är tidskrävande och komplext att tillverka vilket har lett till att all produktion hos ABB Power Grids idag sker manuellt. En av transformatorns mer framstående komponenter är kärnan som bidrar med en effektivare reglering till mindre förluster. Kärnan konstrueras av tusentals tunna elektroplåtar som staplas omlott på varandra och vävs ihop till en sammanhängande struktur, detta enligt ett kärnläggningsmönster. Plåtarna i sig är otympliga att hantera då de är långa, tunna och vassa. Manuell stackning av elektroplåtar har visat sig ge upphov till en del skador då lyften är många och slitsamma, därtill har plåtarna legat till grund för otäcka skärskador. I och med detta har ett intresse för automation väckts i hopp om att reducera arbetsskador. Vid första anblick kan kärnläggningen anses vara perfekt för automation då arbetsmomentet är enkelt och repetitiva. Incitamentet för automation ökar ytterligare i hänseende till arbetsmiljön. Komplikationerna uppstår när arbetet bryts ner. Under ytan är det en utstuderad process där krav på produkt är höga med strikta toleranser. Därtill har arbetet beskrivits som något man behöver en viss känsla för då arbetet anpassas genom hela processen. Detta försvårar automation betydligt då dagens tillverkningsprocess är svår att fullt ut härma med robotar eller portaler. Därför behövs avgränsningar behöver göras för att hitta avvägning mellan slitsamt arbete och finess. Området för automation begränsas därför till stackningsprocessen. Genom att fokusera på stackningen flyttas de slitsamma och farliga lyften från manuell arbetskraft till automation samtidigt som kontroll, justering och slutmontage behålls manuellt. På så sätt kan produktionen av transformatorkärnor göras lämpad för automation då det allra mest tidskrävande momenten inte behöver utföras av människan. Detta är innebär emellertid inte att automation görs utan svårigheter. Kärnornas storlekar samt den precision som krävs vid läggning sätter höga krav på den automationslösning som ska implementeras. För att en automationslösning ska klara av att stacka alla de typer av kärnor som idag tillverkas på ABB Power Grids kommer stora strukturer behöva upprättas för att utföra arbeten med extrem precision. Detta sätter höga noggrannhetskrav på de automationsmodeller som upprättas. Vidare, produktionsområdet där automation idag avses är väl utstakat och anpassat efter manuellt arbete. Detta innebär att automationsmodeller som idag finns på marknaden behöver omarbetas för att passa in i dagens produktion hos ABB Power Grids. Slutligen måste frågan ställas om modifierade lösningar kan göras noggranna nog eller om större ingrepp på produktionsområden behövs göras. I förstudien presenteras olika automationsmodeller som har utvecklats för att integreras hos ABB Power Grids, dessa är Portalmodeller, Länkarmsmodeller och Inmatningsmodeller. Utformningsförslagen har sedan analyserats och jämförts för att ge ABB PG ett utgångsläge för vidareutveckling av automatisering av stackningsmomentet. Resultatet blev fem automationsmodeller, två använder sig av länkarmsrobotar och tre är portaler. Vidare så har två automatiserade inmatningsmodeller upprättats för att ytterligare reducera den manuella hanteringen av elektroplåtar. ABB Power Grids rekommenderas att inledningsvis gå vidare med Robotmodell 1.

    [ES] Hoy en día, gran parte de nuestra dieta está compuesta por alimentos que provienen de los árboles. Las raíces son las encargadas de absorber, almacenar y transportar los recursos que obtienen del agua, y en este proyecto nos centraremos en conocer las características que las rodean a varios niveles de profundidad para así saber cómo se está gestionando el agua en el suelo y planificar de una manera más acertada la cantidad de agua necesaria para evitar el estrés hídrico y el riego excesivo. Para llevarlo a cabo, utilizaremos sensores de humedad del suelo controlados por una placa con el procesador ESP32 que programaremos para que lea correctamente estos datos, los interprete, y muestre de la forma más clara posible la información de los distintos niveles mencionados. Otro de los fines de este proyecto es que sea accesible para todos, para lo cual es imprescindible que sea económico y que se ha conseguido gracias a que sus componentes tienen un bajo coste. Además, se ha diseñado un sistema de carga solar para que el dispositivo funcione de manera limpia y también así alargar la duración de la batería. La placa incorpora conectividad inalámbrica Wifi que enviará los datos a ThingSpeak. [EN] Today, much of our diet consists of food that comes from trees. The roots are responsible for absorbing, storing and transporting resources obtained from water, and in this project we have focused on knowing the characteristics of moisture that surround them at various levels of depth to know how water in the soil is being managed, and be able to plan more accurately the amount of water needed to avoid stress and excessive watering. To carry it out, we will use soil moisture sensors controlled by an ESP32 board, which we will have programmed to read this data correctly, and interpret and display it as clearly as possible on a screen so that any user can check the information of the different levels mentioned. Another aim of this project is that it should be accessible to all, for which it is essential that it is economical and that it has been achieved thanks to the low cost of its components. In addition, a solar charging system for the device has been designed to work cleanly and to extend the battery life. The used ESP32 board incorporates Wi-Fi that will send the data to ThingSpeak.

    In recent years, the train's punctuality, Sweden's ranking in the European Railway Performance Index and the train industry's customer satisfaction have decreased. The largest and most influential players in the train industry are Trafikverket and SJ AB, which are two state-owned organizations. The low customer satisfaction in the train industry is based on SJ AB’s failure to deliver the latest traffic information in case of delay. Since Trafikverket manages the majority of the railway network and SJ AB is Sweden's largest train operator, there is a high degree of mutual dependence between them in order for each organization to be able to conduct its business. At present, there is a clear division of responsibility between these actors regarding how and where the traffic information is distributed. Where the Trafikverket is responsible for conveying all information on its website and on the signs while SJ AB is responsible for conveying information on its website and in its application, as well as via textmessage and mail communication. The processes for communication between the actors regarding delays, track changes and other changes in the journey are done manually with digital tools as support. Today, several uncertainties are experienced in these processes, based on the fact that traffic control at SJ AB currently does not receive any confirmation from Trafikverket if any changes have been made. Due to these factors, this study will investigate the flow of information between SJ traffic control and the Trafikverket’s train services. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis was to identify existing communications, more specifically information flows of traffic data, between the organizations and their passengers, along with identifying possible improvements in the information flows through digitization. The thesis also explores the change opportunities for a department with many manual processes. The study was conducted with a multi-method structure consisting of a literature study, observation study, questionnaire study, interview study and benchmarking. During the observation, questionnaire and interview study, the focus was on employees at SJ traffic control and other relevant departments at SJ AB and the benchmarking was conducted through external interviews. This led to the identification of the main reasons of mismanagement of traffic information and best practices. This was later analyzed with the help of collected theory, which then led to discussion, conclusion and recommendations to SJ AB. It’s obvious that traffic information has low status within SJ AB as well as the interorganizational alliance. This has hampered the development of internal processes related to managing traffic information and therefore the processes lack standardized procedures and structured routines. The main reasons of mismanagement of traffic information depend on the human factor and specific individuals. This is based on the fact that it was clear that both traffic controls perceived the received traffic information difficult to interpret and unstructured, this depending on who sent the information. This due to the fact that the individuals use varying expressions and internal technical language. To be able to improve and in the future automate the information flows between the actors a standardized working procedure with associated technical language is required in the industry. To establish a technical language, the status of the traffic information must be increased within the organizations and a dictionary for which expressions should be used, where all used expressions are listed and defined. Additionally, a clearer goal of the alliance is required.

    Este trabajo de grado consiste en el desarrollo de un robot móvil que tiene como función limpiar las líneas de las canchas de tenis de polvo de ladrillo que tengan una en sus instalaciones y también para los propietarios de canchas de tenis de polvo de ladrillo con el fin de demostrar un proceso de diseño para la creación de un prototipo. Para desarrollar este proyecto se realiza una búsqueda y recolección de información en base a los robots móviles terrestres en donde su funcionalidad sea seguir caminos programados, seguir trayectorias o seguir puntos de interés en el entorno, con lo mencionado anterior, se plantearon diferentes conceptos que suplen dichas necesidades, mediante el diseño concurrente de ingeniería mecatrónica para después seleccionar el más adecuado para el desarrollo del robot móvil. Para la visualización del robot se utilizaron diferentes tipos de herramientas como SolidWorks, Pyvista y Blender. Finalmente se desarrolla la construcción prototipo del robot móvil utilizando herramientas propias y máquinas de la Universidad Autónoma de Occidente que fueron proporcionadas por el taller de manufactura. This degree work consists of the development of a mobile robot whose function is to clean the lines of the brick dust tennis courts that have one in their facilities and for the owners of brick dust tennis courts in order to demonstrate a design process for the creation of a prototype. To develop this project, a search and collection of information based on land mobile robots where its functionality is to follow programmed paths, follow trajectories or follow points of interest in the environment, with the above mentioned, different concepts that meet these needs were raised, through concurrent design of mechatronic engineering to then select the most appropriate for the development of the mobile robot. For the visualization of the robot different types of software were used such as SolidWorks, Pyvista and blender.     The present bibliographic review allowed to analyze the challenges that companies have in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, through which it was possible to inquire about the economic, social and political context that this new technological era entails and how traditional companies can enter in this new digital context. For this, an exhaustive search of recent research related to the subject is made, in order to theoretically validate the aspects dealt with in the monograph, emphasizing the importance of new technologies and the optimization in production that it means for companies. the Revolution 4.0. Fundamental aspects of the large companies that have been successful in this new context of digitization and the aspects that must be followed by companies that want to solve the challenges that arise are analyzed. In addition, the relevance of marketing online is emphasized, but it is also important to maintain physical marketing or through traditional channels, that is, to have business digitization as an alternative or support for the industrial growth of companies. Bibliografía ..................................................................................................... 33 La presente revisión bibliográfica permitió analizar los retos y desafíos que tienen las empresas en la cuarta revolución industrial, por medio de la cual fue posible indagar sobre el contexto económico, social y político que acarrea esta nueva era tecnológica y cómo pueden las empresas tradicionales ir incursionando en este nuevo contexto digital. Para esto, se hace una búsqueda exhaustiva de investigaciones recientes relacionadas con la temática, con el fin de validar teóricamente los aspectos tratados dentro de la monografía, haciendo énfasis en la importancia de las nuevas tecnologías y de la optimización en producción que significa para las empresas la Revolución 4.0. Se analizan aspectos fundamentales de las grandes empresas que han tenido éxito en este nuevo contexto de digitalización y los aspectos que deben seguir las empresas que quieran solventar los retos y desafíos que se les presenten. Además, se hace hincapié en la relevancia de comercializar por internet, pero que también es importante mantener la comercialización física o por medio de los canales tradicionales, es decir, que se tenga la digitalización empresarial como una alternativa o apoyo para el crecimiento industrial de las compañías.     With the rapid development of computers and their proven usability in manufacturing environments, simulation-based optimisation has become a recognised tool for proposing near-optimal results related to manufacturing system design and improvement. As a world-leading manufacturer within their field, Volvo GTO in Skövde, Sweden is constantly seeking internal development and has in recent years discovered the possibilities provided by flow simulation. The main aim of this thesis is to provide an optimal buffer size of a new post-assembly and packaging line (Konpack) yet to be constructed. A by-product of the flow simulation optimisation project in form of a flow simulation process evaluation was also requested. The simulation project started with a pre-study including the development of the frame of reference and an analysis of the literature focused on merging Lean philosophy with simulation-based optimisation. The simulation model was built based on both historical and estimated data. The optimisation results showed different buffer size alternatives depending on the throughput to be achieved, these are discussed, and near-optimal solutions presented for decision-making. Additionally, four experiments were carried out, both contributing to the model’s credibility as well as providing new and valuable insight to the stakeholders. The conclusions drawn from the optimisation and experiments indicate that Konpack will be able to meet the established throughput goals, provided that the suggested near-optimal solutions are considered. The experiments also unanimously point to the fact that Konpack has a built-in overcapacity, utilizable by optimising certain suggested input parameters. Additionally, an evaluation of the completeness of the standard simulation process employed by Volvo GTO is provided, concluding that no major changes are needed. Nevertheless, there is always room for improvement. Hence, future work regarding the flow simulation process at Volvo GTO is proposed.
