    Intresset för effektivisering av underhåll på järnvägen i Sverige växer, järnvägsinfrastrukturen utsätts för högre belastning på grund av den ökade trafiken vilket innebär mer slitage och kortare tidsfönster för inspektion och underhåll. Digitalisering av underhåll på järnvägen bidrar med att säkerställa kontinuerlig drift, effektivt underhåll, planering och minskar olyckor. Realtidsöverföring av data är teknik som är centralt för att mäta tillståndet på järnvägen. Tekniken har visats effektivisera det förebyggande underhållet av järnvägen med enheter som mäter tillståndet på räls och lok i realtid, tekniken benämns som tillståndsbaserade underhållssystem. Syftet med denna studie är att identifiera de problemfaktorer som påverkar användningen av tillståndsbaserat underhåll med utgångspunkt från inblandade aktörer. Studiens använder sig av aktörs-nätverksteorin för att identifiera hur problemfaktorerna förhåller sig till inblandade aktörer och hur användningen av tillståndsbaserat underhåll påverkas av faktorerna. Data samlades in via semistrukturerade intervjuer och tolkades med en innehållsanalys. Resultatet indikerar att komplexitet, samverkan, datahantering, juridiska aspekter, ekonomiska aspekter, underhållsaspekter och kompetensnivå är kategorier över de identifierade problemfaktorer som kan bidra med problem kring användningen av tillståndsbaserat underhåll. Interest in efficientmaintenance on the railway in Sweden is growing, the railway infrastructure is exposed to higher loads due to the increased traffic, which leads to increased tear on the railway infrastructure and shorter time windows for inspection and maintenance. Digitalization of maintenance on the railway helps to ensure continuous operation, efficient maintenance, planning and reduces accidents. Real-time data transmission is technology that is central to measuring the condition of the railway. The technology has been proven to improve the preventive maintenance of the railway with units that measure the condition of rails and locomotives in real time, the technology is referred to as condition-based maintenance. The purpose of this study is to identify the problem factors that have an influencing effect on the use of condition-based maintenance systems based on the actors involved. The study uses the Actor Network Theory to identify how the problem factors relate to the actors involved and how the use of condition-based maintenance is affected by the factors. Data were collected via semi-structured interviews and interpreted with a content analysis. The results indicate that complexity, collaboration, data management, legal aspects, financial aspects, maintenance aspects and competence level are categories over factors that can contribute to problems around the use of condition-based maintenance.

    In this thesis, the design of a self balancing prototype bike with a reaction wheel as balancing mechanism will be investigated. Bikes are inherently unstable systems, that dynamically resemble an inverted pendulum at a stand still. Previous work has mostly been focused on keeping the balance through manipulating the steering input, and using state space modelling in order to balance the bike. In this project, a PID controller was implemented as a mean of control for the reaction wheel which was driven by a brushless DC motor. Different variations of Ziegler Nichols tuning methods were compared, and an alternative heuristic tuning method for the PID controller was also tested. The standard Ziegler Nichols and the alternative method yielded the best results. I detta kandidatexamensarbete kommer designen av en självbalanserande prototyp cykel med ett reaktionshjul som balanseringsmekanism att undersökas. Cyklar är instabila system, som dynamiskt liknar en inverterad pendel när de är stationära. Tidigare arbeten har huvudsakligen fokuserat på att hålla balansen genom att elektroniskt manipulera styrinmatningen och använda modern regelteknik för att balansera cykeln. I det här projektet implementerades en PID-regulator som ett medel för att styra reaktionshjulet, driven av en borstlös likströmsmotor. Olika varianter av Ziegler Nichols-metoden och den alternativa metoden gav de bästa resultaten.

    This report presents a thesis done at the programme Master of Science in Engineering and Education at KTH and SU. This project aims to create a laboratory work trying to inspire students for the technical subjects (mathematics, physics, technology and computer science) and is conducted at the department IfU at RWTH University in Aachen, Germany. It is a part of the project RoboScope, developed in Germany to inspire young people to study more engineering. This laboratory work uses Lego Mindstorms and the students should work with robotics. The laboratory work is based on a theme; the students will build a robot that can complete a specific task, a rescue task in a nuclear power plant. The new parts in the laboratory work “Rescue Work” involve more interactivity, higher degree of freedom, older students and the programming is made in Java. The laboratory work uses the model of Brall. Evaluation of the laboratory work has been done together with colleagues at IfU and a group of school students. Denna rapport redovisar ett examensarbete gjort på programmet Civilingenjör och Lärare på KTH och SU. Examensarbetets syfte är att skapa en laboration för att försöka inspirera studenter till de tekniska ämnena (matematik, fysik, teknik och datavetenskap) och är genomfört vid institutionen IfU på universitetet RWTH i Aachen, Tyskland. Den är en del av ett projekt RoboScope, drivet i Tyskland för att inspirera fler elever till att studera till ingenjörer. Denna laboration använder sig av Lego Mindstorms och studenterna arbetar med robotik. Laborationen utgår från ett tema och studenterna ska bygga en robot som kan genomföra den specifika uppgiften de blir tilldelade. Uppgiften är en räddningsaktion i ett kärnkraftverk. De nya delarna i denna laboration involverar mer interaktivitet, högre frihetsgrader, äldre elever och programmeringen genomförs i Java. Laboration använder sig av modellen av Brall. En utvärdering är gjord tillsammans med kollegor på IfU och en grupp av studenter.

    This report presents a thesis done at the programme Master of Science in Engineering and Education at KTH and SU. This project aims to create a laboratory work trying to inspire students for the technical subjects (mathematics, physics, technology and computer science) and is conducted at the department IfU at RWTH University in Aachen, Germany. It is a part of the project RoboScope, developed in Germany to inspire young people to study more engineering. This laboratory work uses Lego Mindstorms and the students should work with robotics. The laboratory work is based on a theme; the students will build a robot that can complete a specific task, a rescue task in a nuclear power plant. The new parts in the laboratory work “Rescue Work” involve more interactivity, higher degree of freedom, older students and the programming is made in Java. The laboratory work uses the model of Brall. Evaluation of the laboratory work has been done together with colleagues at IfU and a group of school students. Denna rapport redovisar ett examensarbete gjort på programmet Civilingenjör och Lärare på KTH och SU. Examensarbetets syfte är att skapa en laboration för att försöka inspirera studenter till de tekniska ämnena (matematik, fysik, teknik och datavetenskap) och är genomfört vid institutionen IfU på universitetet RWTH i Aachen, Tyskland. Den är en del av ett projekt RoboScope, drivet i Tyskland för att inspirera fler elever till att studera till ingenjörer. Denna laboration använder sig av Lego Mindstorms och studenterna arbetar med robotik. Laborationen utgår från ett tema och studenterna ska bygga en robot som kan genomföra den specifika uppgiften de blir tilldelade. Uppgiften är en räddningsaktion i ett kärnkraftverk. De nya delarna i denna laboration involverar mer interaktivitet, högre frihetsgrader, äldre elever och programmeringen genomförs i Java. Laboration använder sig av modellen av Brall. En utvärdering är gjord tillsammans med kollegor på IfU och en grupp av studenter.
