    Com podem aconseguir una caracterització densa d'un objecte altament deformable per a la manipulació robòtica utilitzant la percepció visual? L'espai d'estats de dimensió infinita que defineixen els objectes deformables fa que aquesta tasca sigui extremadament difícil. A més, a causa de la naturalesa d'aquests objectes, tractar amb auto-ocultacions es converteix en un important segon desafiament. La freqüència i complexitat d'aquestes augmenten amb el grau de deformabilitat de l'objecte. Per tant, és crucial tractar-les adequadament. Aquesta tesi proposa un mètode que, mitjançant l'ús de la percepció visual (imatges RGB), (1) proporciona una representació densa agnòstica a tasques d'una classe d'objecte, (2) permet generalitzar aquesta representació a través de diferents instàncies de la mateixa categoria d'objecte i (3) proporciona una mesura de confiança en l'assignació de correspondències entre diferents imatges. En aquest cas particular, l'enfocament està en la manipulació de roba, més específicament en la manipulació de diferents instàncies de samarretes. Per això, aquest treball també proporciona una metodologia per a la generació aleatòria de diferents tipus de samarretes. No obstant, tot el marc definit es podria generalitzar a qualsevol altre tipus d'objecte deformable. ¿Cómo podemos lograr una caracterización densa de un objeto altamente deformable para la manipulación robótica utilizando la percepción visual? El espacio de estados de dimensión infinita que definen a los objetos deformables hace que esta tarea sea extremadamente difícil. Además, debido a la naturaleza de estos objetos, tratar con autoocultaciones se convierte en un importante segundo desafío. Su frecuencia y complejidad aumentan con el grado de deformabilidad del objeto. Por lo tanto, es crucial tratarlas adecuadamente. Esta tesis propone un método que, mediante el uso de la percepción visual (imágenes RGB), (1) proporciona una representación densa agnóstica a tareas de una clase de objeto, (2) permite generalizar dicha representación a través de diferentes instancias de la misma categoría de objeto, y (3) proporciona una medida de confianza en la assignación de correspondencias entre distintas imágenes. En este caso en particular, el enfoque está en la manipulación de ropa, más específicamente en la manipulación de diferentes instancias de camisetas. Es por ello que este trabajo también proporciona una metodología para randomizar la generación de distintos tipos de ellas. Sin embargo, todo el marco definido se podría generalizar a cualquier otro tipo de objeto deformable. How can we achieve a dense characterization of a highly deformable object for robotic manipulation using visual perception? The infinite dimensional state space of deformable objects makes this task extremely difficult. Moreover, due to the nature of these objects, dealing with self-occlusions becomes a second major challenge. Their frequency and complexity increase with the degree of deformability of the object. Thus, it is crucial to properly deal with them. This thesis proposes a method that, by using visual perception (RGB images), (1) provides a task-agnostic dense representation of an object class, (2) enables to generalize such a representation across different instances of the same object category, and (3) provides a measure of confidence on pixelwise correspondence matching. In this particular case, the focus is on cloth manipulation, more specifically on instances of upper-body clothes. As a result, this work also provides a pipeline to generate a simulated dataset of randomized instances within this object category. However, the whole framework could be generalized to any other deformable object class. Outgoing

    The purpose of this paper is to understand how supermarkets are able to meet their sustainability goals and accelerate them through digitized efforts. Qualitative research through case studies and primary data collected with interviews were conducted. It can be concluded that sustainability efforts get accelerated with the aid of digitalization. The participants of the interview showed on numerous levels that digitalization goes hand in hand with sustainability and helps expedite these efforts. The model brought forward by the authors seems to be rather relevant, additionally, it explains the phenomena concrete and accurately.

    Sweden has the ambition to be the world leading country leveraging the opportunities of digitalization in the healthcare sector. In parallel, the Swedish Research Council highlights that conducting more clinical studies is essential to improve the healthcare. Henceforth, considering the need for increased operational efficiency as an enabler for increased clinical activity, a digital transformation of the industry was identified as a potential catalyst. The study thus utilizes a cognitive work analysis framework to investigate the potential benefits and risks of digitizing the functional operations at a contract management department for clinical studies at a Swedish university hospital. The aim is thereafter to determine the appropriate properties necessary to consider managing a digital transformation. The analysis identified three key benefits from a digitization. 1) transparent data sharing, 2) standardized contract management and 3) efficient operations. These three aspects are currently insufficient at the department hindering the objective of increasing the clinical activity. The study found that a digital transformation would be suitable in order to mitigate these insufficiencies and consequently facilitating the achievement of the objectives. Thereafter, the study found the key properties to consider managing a digital transformation to be interoperability, quality, adaptability and usability. In addition, safety was found critical to be considered in the transformation as the contract management department acts under rigid laws and regulations on ethics and patient security with which digitized processes must comply. The results contribute to the field of cognitive systems engineering. However, the study has limitations regarding the reliability and generalizability of the results. The findings are based on a single case study, which may not be representative for the industry in general nor for university hospitals in particular. In addition, since no actual digitalization effort was performed at the organization during the study, appropriate properties key to consider in the digital transformation are speculative by design. Consequently, it is necessary to study an actual implementation process in future research and whether the proposed considerations are sufficient in order to realize the suggested benefits of such a digitalization. Dessutom understryker Vetenskapsrådet att det är centralt för förbättrad sjukvård att öka antalet kliniska studier i landet. Följaktligen, med tanke på behovet av en ökad operativ effektivitet, identifierade författarna det av intresse att studera digitalisering av branschen. Studien tillämpar således ett kognitivt ramverk för arbetsanalys i syfte att undersöka de potentiella fördelarna eller riskerna med att digitalisera den funktionella verksamheten hos en kontrakthanteringsavdelning för kliniska studier vid ett stort svenskt universitetssjukhus. Målsättningen är därefter att ta fram lämpliga egenskaper som är nödvändiga att beakta vid hanteringen av den digitala transformationen. Kontrakthanteringsavdelningen fanns att inneha brister i sina arbetsprocesser gällande transparens, effektivitet och standardisering vilket hindrar målet avseende ökad klinisk aktivitet. Studien visade att en digital transformation skulle vara nödvändig för att motverka dessa brister, samt för att möjliggöra en uppskalning av organisationen. Ett annat specifikt förbättringsområde som skulle underlättas av en digital transformation visade sig vara förbättrad synkronisering mellan arbetsprocesser. Vidare fann studien att de mest kritiska egenskaperna nödvändiga att beakta, vid hantering av en digital transformation, skulle vara interoperabilitet, kvalitet, anpassningsförmåga och användbarhet. Dessutom är säkerhet en egenskap som visat sig vara kritisk att beakta vid digitalisering då kontrakthanteringsavdelningen lyder under stränga lagar och föreskrifter beträffande etik och patientsäkerhet. Resultaten bidrar till forskningsområdet cognitive systems engineering. Studien har dock vissa begränsningar gällande tillförlitlighet och generaliserbarhet. Resultaten är baserade på en enfallstudie, som eventuellt inte är representativ för branschen i allmänhet eller för universitetssjukhus i synnerhet. Dessutom, då ingen digitaliseringsinsats utfördes under studien är de viktiga egenskaperna att beakta i den digitala transformationen enbart spekulativa. Således är det i framtida forskning viktigt att studera en faktisk implementation och då studera om föreslagna beaktanden är tillräckliga för att utnyttja digitaliseringens möjligheter.

To address this problem, the purpose of this study will be to investigate what could be a contribution to the further improvements within public transportation systems. The study is established alongside with the recently started “Welcome onboard” project, where the purpose is to develop and extend the public transportation as we know it today. The aim is to through five different functional areas urge the utility, where crowdsourcing will play a central role. We are distinguishing three public transport authorities attitudes towards the different functions of the project. We will investigate the attitudes towards the Welcome onboardprojects functions and if they could be a contribution to the RKM-companies future development. Furthermore, this thesis will also investigate how the RKM-companies would grade the different advantages of different functional areas, and in a extend what would bevital for an future implementation. The empirical data collection consist of interviews of informants with a deep understanding ofthe development of the public transportations. First we interviewed two key persons of the Welcome onboard project, to get a deep understanding of the project. Later on we interviewed key persons at Värmlandstrafiken and Västtrafik, that are two different regional public transportation authorities. To strengthen our results we also chose to interview Samtrafiken, which task are to develop collaborations and offer services within information and ticket solutions for the public transport industry. This is made in order to benefit both traffic the RKM and the travelers. All the interviews were transcribed and analyzed, later the empirical data collection could be compared through different cases. These cases were categorized by information about the company that the interviewees where representing and the answers regarding the attitudes towards the “Welcome onboard”-project and its functions. The result from the thesis will give an understanding of Västtrafik, Värmlandstrafiken and Samtrafikens perspective of the functions and attitudes towards the further development of public transportation.

    La manifestación de carencia de relevo generacional, que afecta tanto al sector agrario como al cooperativo, ha generado la necesidad de realizar un estudio que nos permita anticiparnos a sus consecuencias. Mediante la elaboración de encuestas a los socios hortofrutícolas de Grupo AN y a través de análisis estadísticos, se ha buscado responder a la hipótesis que justifica la falta de sucesión mencionada anteriormente, la cual se apoya en subhipótesis que explican las causas de dicho fenómeno. Como resultado de este análisis hemos obtenido seis perfiles de socios que se agrupan en torno a tres comportamientos en relación al relevo generacional: socios sin relevo generacional, socios con relevo generacional y socios con potencial relevo generacional. The manifestation of the lack of generational renewal, affecting both the agricultural and cooperative sectors, has generated the need to carry out a study that allows us to anticipate to its consequences. Through the devising of surveys to Grupo AN fruit and vegetable cooperative owners and through statistical analyses, we have tried to answer the hypothesis that justifies the aforementioned lack of succession, which is based on sub-hypotheses that explain the causes of this phenomenon. As a result of this analysis we have obtained six owner profiles that are grouped around three behaviors in relation to the generational relay: owners without generational relay, owners with generational relay and owners with potential generational relay.     Purpose: The purpose of this study was to augment the understanding for how an organisation can facilitate the creation of applications of the Internet of Things (IoT) through increased involvement of employees in the innovation process. Method: This was an explorative study utilising qualitative data that was collected from a single case. Data was collected from a process manufacturing facility owned by a market-leading company through a combination of methods: questionnaire, documentation, observation, and interviews. Findings: It was found that the employee innovation process occurs in eight stages: problem-identification and communication, and idea-generation, communication, assessment, prioritisation, assignment, and implementation. It was also found that to successfully innovate, employees require knowledge, time, and motivation. Further, seven enabling and six inhibiting factors of employee innovation were identified. The process, requirements, and factors were utilised to build a framework to facilitate employee innovation for applications of the IoT. Theoretical contributions: This study merged two rather young bodies of literature, IoT and employee innovation, in a novel way. Innovation related to the IoT is close to unexplored, and employee innovation has never been studied specifically related to the IoT. Further, the eight-stage process of employee innovation is also novel. Managerial implications: There now exists a framework that managers can utilise to facilitate employee innovation in general, and innovation for the IoT in particular. The findings of this study can act as guidance for managers seeking to involve their employees in the innovation process.

    Com podem aconseguir una caracterització densa d'un objecte altament deformable per a la manipulació robòtica utilitzant la percepció visual? L'espai d'estats de dimensió infinita que defineixen els objectes deformables fa que aquesta tasca sigui extremadament difícil. A més, a causa de la naturalesa d'aquests objectes, tractar amb auto-ocultacions es converteix en un important segon desafiament. La freqüència i complexitat d'aquestes augmenten amb el grau de deformabilitat de l'objecte. Per tant, és crucial tractar-les adequadament. Aquesta tesi proposa un mètode que, mitjançant l'ús de la percepció visual (imatges RGB), (1) proporciona una representació densa agnòstica a tasques d'una classe d'objecte, (2) permet generalitzar aquesta representació a través de diferents instàncies de la mateixa categoria d'objecte i (3) proporciona una mesura de confiança en l'assignació de correspondències entre diferents imatges. En aquest cas particular, l'enfocament està en la manipulació de roba, més específicament en la manipulació de diferents instàncies de samarretes. Per això, aquest treball també proporciona una metodologia per a la generació aleatòria de diferents tipus de samarretes. No obstant, tot el marc definit es podria generalitzar a qualsevol altre tipus d'objecte deformable. ¿Cómo podemos lograr una caracterización densa de un objeto altamente deformable para la manipulación robótica utilizando la percepción visual? El espacio de estados de dimensión infinita que definen a los objetos deformables hace que esta tarea sea extremadamente difícil. Además, debido a la naturaleza de estos objetos, tratar con autoocultaciones se convierte en un importante segundo desafío. Su frecuencia y complejidad aumentan con el grado de deformabilidad del objeto. Por lo tanto, es crucial tratarlas adecuadamente. Esta tesis propone un método que, mediante el uso de la percepción visual (imágenes RGB), (1) proporciona una representación densa agnóstica a tareas de una clase de objeto, (2) permite generalizar dicha representación a través de diferentes instancias de la misma categoría de objeto, y (3) proporciona una medida de confianza en la assignación de correspondencias entre distintas imágenes. En este caso en particular, el enfoque está en la manipulación de ropa, más específicamente en la manipulación de diferentes instancias de camisetas. Es por ello que este trabajo también proporciona una metodología para randomizar la generación de distintos tipos de ellas. How can we achieve a dense characterization of a highly deformable object for robotic manipulation using visual perception? The infinite dimensional state space of deformable objects makes this task extremely difficult. Moreover, due to the nature of these objects, dealing with self-occlusions becomes a second major challenge. Their frequency and complexity increase with the degree of deformability of the object. Thus, it is crucial to properly deal with them. This thesis proposes a method that, by using visual perception (RGB images), (1) provides a task-agnostic dense representation of an object class, (2) enables to generalize such a representation across different instances of the same object category, and (3) provides a measure of confidence on pixelwise correspondence matching. In this particular case, the focus is on cloth manipulation, more specifically on instances of upper-body clothes. As a result, this work also provides a pipeline to generate a simulated dataset of randomized instances within this object category. However, the whole framework could be generalized to any other deformable object class. Outgoing

    Aquest projecte descriu el procés seguit per al desenvolupament d'un robot manipulador de tipus braç articulat. Aquest documenta l'anàlisi de l'estat de l’art i l’estudi de les diferents solucions existents al mercat, seguit de l'enginyeria de concepte realitzada per definir i justificar la solució adoptada i, finalment, l'enginyeria de desenvolupament que exposa el disseny final i la problemàtica sorgida. El contingut de cadascuna d'aquestes parts es divideix en tres blocs principals: mecànica, hardward i software del robot. Per completar la seva documentació, també s'aporten tots els càlculs, plànols, esquemes, codi font de programació, fitxes tècniques dels components, manual d'ús i anàlisi de costos.

    The purpose of this paper is to understand how supermarkets are able to meet their sustainability goals and accelerate them through digitized efforts. Qualitative research through case studies and primary data collected with interviews were conducted. It can be concluded that sustainability efforts get accelerated with the aid of digitalization. The participants of the interview showed on numerous levels that digitalization goes hand in hand with sustainability and helps expedite these efforts. The model brought forward by the authors seems to be rather relevant, additionally, it explains the phenomena concrete and accurately.

    Sweden has the ambition to be the world leading country leveraging the opportunities of digitalization in the healthcare sector. In parallel, the Swedish Research Council highlights that conducting more clinical studies is essential to improve the healthcare. Henceforth, considering the need for increased operational efficiency as an enabler for increased clinical activity, a digital transformation of the industry was identified as a potential catalyst. The study thus utilizes a cognitive work analysis framework to investigate the potential benefits and risks of digitizing the functional operations at a contract management department for clinical studies at a Swedish university hospital. The aim is thereafter to determine the appropriate properties necessary to consider managing a digital transformation. The analysis identified three key benefits from a digitization. 1) transparent data sharing, 2) standardized contract management and 3) efficient operations. These three aspects are currently insufficient at the department hindering the objective of increasing the clinical activity. The study found that a digital transformation would be suitable in order to mitigate these insufficiencies and consequently facilitating the achievement of the objectives. Thereafter, the study found the key properties to consider managing a digital transformation to be interoperability, quality, adaptability and usability. In addition, safety was found critical to be considered in the transformation as the contract management department acts under rigid laws and regulations on ethics and patient security with which digitized processes must comply. The results contribute to the field of cognitive systems engineering. However, the study has limitations regarding the reliability and generalizability of the results. The findings are based on a single case study, which may not be representative for the industry in general nor for university hospitals in particular. In addition, since no actual digitalization effort was performed at the organization during the study, appropriate properties key to consider in the digital transformation are speculative by design. Consequently, it is necessary to study an actual implementation process in future research and whether the proposed considerations are sufficient in order to realize the suggested benefits of such a digitalization. Sverige har ett övergripande mål att vara det ledande landet när det gäller att dra nytta av digitaliseringens möjligheter inom sjukvården. Dessutom understryker Vetenskapsrådet att det är centralt för förbättrad sjukvård att öka antalet kliniska studier i landet. Följaktligen, med tanke på behovet av en ökad operativ effektivitet, identifierade författarna det av intresse att studera digitalisering av branschen. Studien tillämpar således ett kognitivt ramverk för arbetsanalys i syfte att undersöka de potentiella fördelarna eller riskerna med att digitalisera den funktionella verksamheten hos en kontrakthanteringsavdelning för kliniska studier vid ett stort svenskt universitetssjukhus. Målsättningen är därefter att ta fram lämpliga egenskaper som är nödvändiga att beakta vid hanteringen av den digitala transformationen. Kontrakthanteringsavdelningen fanns att inneha brister i sina arbetsprocesser gällande transparens, effektivitet och standardisering vilket hindrar målet avseende ökad klinisk aktivitet. Studien visade att en digital transformation skulle vara nödvändig för att motverka dessa brister, samt för att möjliggöra en uppskalning av organisationen. Ett annat specifikt förbättringsområde som skulle underlättas av en digital transformation visade sig vara förbättrad synkronisering mellan arbetsprocesser. Vidare fann studien att de mest kritiska egenskaperna nödvändiga att beakta, vid hantering av en digital transformation, skulle vara interoperabilitet, kvalitet, anpassningsförmåga och användbarhet. Dessutom är säkerhet en egenskap som visat sig vara kritisk att beakta vid digitalisering då kontrakthanteringsavdelningen lyder under stränga lagar och föreskrifter beträffande etik och patientsäkerhet. Resultaten bidrar till forskningsområdet cognitive systems engineering. Studien har dock vissa begränsningar gällande tillförlitlighet och generaliserbarhet. Resultaten är baserade på en enfallstudie, som eventuellt inte är representativ för branschen i allmänhet eller för universitetssjukhus i synnerhet. Dessutom, då ingen digitaliseringsinsats utfördes under studien är de viktiga egenskaperna att beakta i den digitala transformationen enbart spekulativa. Således är det i framtida forskning viktigt att studera en faktisk implementation och då studera om föreslagna beaktanden är tillräckliga för att utnyttja digitaliseringens möjligheter.

    The issue that this study addresses is the public transportations difficulty to adapt and keep up with the continuously digitizing society. To address this problem, the purpose of this study will be to investigate what could be a contribution to the further improvements within public transportation systems. The study is established alongside with the recently started “Welcome onboard” project, where the purpose is to develop and extend the public transportation as we know it today. The aim is to through five different functional areas urge the utility, where crowdsourcing will play a central role. We are distinguishing three public transport authorities attitudes towards the different functions of the project. We will investigate the attitudes towards the Welcome onboardprojects functions and if they could be a contribution to the RKM-companies future development. Furthermore, this thesis will also investigate how the RKM-companies would grade the different advantages of different functional areas, and in a extend what would bevital for an future implementation. The empirical data collection consist of interviews of informants with a deep understanding ofthe development of the public transportations. First we interviewed two key persons of the Welcome onboard project, to get a deep understanding of the project. Later on we interviewed key persons at Värmlandstrafiken and Västtrafik, that are two different regional public transportation authorities. To strengthen our results we also chose to interview Samtrafiken, which task are to develop collaborations and offer services within information and ticket solutions for the public transport industry. This is made in order to benefit both traffic the RKM and the travelers. All the interviews were transcribed and analyzed, later the empirical data collection could be compared through different cases. These cases were categorized by information about the company that the interviewees where representing and the answers regarding the attitudes towards the “Welcome onboard”-project and its functions. The result from the thesis will give an understanding of Västtrafik, Värmlandstrafiken and Samtrafikens perspective of the functions and attitudes towards the further development of public transportation.

    La manifestación de carencia de relevo generacional, que afecta tanto al sector agrario como al cooperativo, ha generado la necesidad de realizar un estudio que nos permita anticiparnos a sus consecuencias. Mediante la elaboración de encuestas a los socios hortofrutícolas de Grupo AN y a través de análisis estadísticos, se ha buscado responder a la hipótesis que justifica la falta de sucesión mencionada anteriormente, la cual se apoya en subhipótesis que explican las causas de dicho fenómeno. Como resultado de este análisis hemos obtenido seis perfiles de socios que se agrupan en torno a tres comportamientos en relación al relevo generacional: socios sin relevo generacional, socios con relevo generacional y socios con potencial relevo generacional. The manifestation of the lack of generational renewal, affecting both the agricultural and cooperative sectors, has generated the need to carry out a study that allows us to anticipate to its consequences. Through the devising of surveys to Grupo AN fruit and vegetable cooperative owners and through statistical analyses, we have tried to answer the hypothesis that justifies the aforementioned lack of succession, which is based on sub-hypotheses that explain the causes of this phenomenon. As a result of this analysis we have obtained six owner profiles that are grouped around three behaviors in relation to the generational relay: owners without generational relay, owners with generational relay and owners with potential generational relay.
