If there were 7 billion people in 2011, it is currently estimated to have reached 8.5 billion. This growth has not been gradual; from 1950 to the present, the number of people has almost tripled to the point where the number of inhabitants in urban areas exceeds the number of inhabitants in rural areas. This growth was not uniform either, and in urban areas of developing countries, population growth occurred in parallel with accelerated urbanization, contributing to a high and particularly rapid growth rate, with an estimated average of 2% a year, compared to the average rate of 0.5% in urban areas of more developed countries (United Nations 2015). This acceleration, coupled with the low economic conditions, has hampered the process of sustainable consolidation of urban structures where the difficulties in guaranteeing the minimum and decent conditions in the urban and housing context are accentuated.

We have found that students struggle with critical thinking, and it is rare when students are able to think creatively. Therefore, we have suggested a research network community as a possible solution to this problem by uniting teachers, post-graduate students and undergraduates of the university. Teachers and students of the secondary schools were proposed with an “information-and-activity concept” as a way of their learning problems solution. We have found that a network research community is supportive for the students, using an information-and-activity concept, to develop in them required research competences. The authors have identified a community model in respect to the information-and-activity concept. We have tested the effectiveness of a network community model in an experiment at rural secondary schools of Krasnoyarsk region. Usage of remote sensing has been effective in critical thinking improvement.

For this purpose, 600 forms were sent to the participants (students of CUM) through the Google form. We received back 203 questionnaires, wherein 186 of the sample was selected on a confidence-basis of 90% with an error margin of 5%; The results show that the majority of online students live in provincial capitals and in rural areas and often use ICTs, in daily life as well as for the academic activities. In order to accomplish a quality e-learning there should be taken into account, in addition to the education programmes, the issue of basic infrastructure such as the electric power, the internet access and speed of platforms and the possession of mobile devices connected to network and skills of the end users.

Pais; Alex Ndayiragije; Fernando C. Lidon; Ana I. Ribeiro-Barros;Human micronutrient malnutrition, in particular selenium (Se) deficitary availability, affects millions of people around the world. Diet is the most important source of Se, and rice (Oryza sativa L.) is the most important staple crop for human consumption, feeding about half of the world’s population, thus with a unique potential to improve health through food. Selenium is an essential element for men and animals, having also important roles in plant metabolism. Several programs were implemented worldwide to mitigate an insufficiency micronutrient intake in humans, including Se. Among the used strategies, agronomic Se biofortification stands out as a feasible, efficient, fast, reliable, sustainable, more accessible, and cost-effective strategy, to respond to such widespread human malnutrition, particularly in rural areas and in developing countries, having the additional advantage of partly overcoming deficient distribution infrastructure and health systems in these regions. This review highlights the role of Se in human health and in plants, the Se agronomic biofortification success over the last two decades, focusing particularly in rice, and underlies the future challenges ahead to guarantee adequate healthy food products in a difficult and unfavorable context of growing population pressure and ongoing climate changes.

Abdalova; The key factors in the production development and location, including industrial production, in any region, are the territorial structure of natural resources and the level of production infrastructure development. At present, the industry is one of the leading sectors of the developed countries' economy. Therefore, the Government of Uzbekistan, from the first days of state independence, prioritises the industry development, its modernisation and diversification when reforming the national economy. Due to this, over the past ten years, the industrial production share in the country's GDP has grown significantly and amounts to almost 1/3 of it. However, the participation of regions in gross industrial output is very uneven, and a number of them, in the presence of high natural resource potential, still retain agricultural specialisation. The paper presents an economic and geographical analysis of natural resources as a factor of industrial development in the Tashkent economic district. The general characteristic of mineral and raw material balance of the Tashkent region in the context of administrative districts (rural areas) is given. The paper describes the current development state of the territorial and sectoral structure of the Tashkent region and Tashkent city. The study analyses reserves and the involvement level of mineral resources in the context of administrative districts. The authors of this paper considered the issues and prospects of territorial and sectoral structure establishment and development in Tashkent economic district industry.
