By its geographical location, the rural area from Dobrudgea has a diversified tourism potential, provided by the contrasting natural environmental factors, ranging from the oldest to the youngest relief units, natural protected areas, balneary resources and cultural, historical, religious sites, as well as multicultural local customs and traditions of the rural area. This potential can be used under various forms in the rural area: cultural tourism, historical tourism, religious tourism, ecotourism, fishing tourism or bird-watching tourism, as well as other kinds of rural tourism. By linking these tourism resources and tourism forms, tourism routes can result, which, together with the local customs, traditions and cuisine may contribute to the social and economic development of Dobrudgea’s rural area, through sustainable tourism as an alternative to seasonal seashore tourism.

When it comes to foreign students, the dropout rate is 22% of the total number of students for the academic year 2018-2019. In most cases, students at risk are either the ones who were accepted with a low grade at the baccalaureate exam (10%) or come from rural areas (25.5%) or are part of disadvantaged socio-economic groups (low-income families, have one or both parents working abroad). To minimize dropout rate, we propose a platform that unites professors and students to understand the student needs and improve the student connection with faculty.

For further information contact us at helpdesk@openaire.eudescription Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Conference object 2020Publisher:LUMEN Publishing House Authors: Andreea Stroe;Andreea Stroe;Rural tourism has developed in the recent years due to the desire of people to return to their roots and to connect more to nature, away from the crowdedness of the city. Moreover, the fact that a lot of entrepreneurs tend to develop their business in the rural area has lead to an extension of rural services and products. The growth of tourists' interest for visiting rural areas encouraged the residents of inland villages to the new development and new entrepreneurial orientation-tourism. Regardless of the rural area or the country where the rural tourism is practiced, the rural tourist profile tends to have a series of common elements. These include the desire to escape from the city and to integrate into the rural life from the village, the desire to relax, the desire to spend free time with family or any other person in a natural setting and not least, the desire to know the culture of the rural space, with all that it entails. In Romania the rural tourist bases its consumption decision on the intagible and tangible assets that can represent a heritage to be explored, mainly in the perspective of untouch and well preserved traditions at which one can assist. As a result, the tourist who visits these places is supposed to be eager to know the Romanian traditions, to participate in an active way in the life of the village, as it is lived by the members of the community and to enjoy beautiful scenary. So, the purpose of the paper is to analyze the rural consumption decision, the factors that can influence it and to recognize some general tourism models that can be applied in rural area.

It has become topical and gained new value during this period of Covid-19 crisis. Although financial exclusion cuts across demographic categories, but certain categories of financial consumers such as women, young people, people with disabilities and those residing in rural areas have a low presence in the financial services sector. Previous studies attribute the incidence of financial exclusion of some segment of the society to low income, low level of financial education or difficult access to financial products and services generated by poor development of physical infrastructure. Is this true in the case of ASEAN region? A quantitative research approach was adopted in this study, while relying on the secondary data of the World Bank spanning 2011-2017, the UN Women ASEAN Gender Outlook report (2020 -2021), and enriched by scholarly works. The article focuses on the dimensions of the phenomenon of financial inclusion in ASEAN countries, with emphasis on the gender gap financial inclusion. The analysis of the extracted data reveals multiple differences among the countries in the region, a fact that can be explained by the different levels of financial technology development and the governmental interventions implemented to improve financial inclusion. On the strength of the findings, this paper argues that digitalization and financial innovation can also be solutions through which new consumers can be attracted to the financial system, but with these solutions come new challenges related to the protection of personal data and cyber security. For this reason, we believe that increasing financial inclusion must be approached at several levels and must involve joint efforts by public authorities, credit institutions and other categories of stakeholders.

The labour market faces different challenges than those in urban areas, where people are closer to education, training and employment opportunities. The main obstacle in obtaining a job by the rural population is the lack of employment opportunities for individuals in the localities of residence. In addition to the above, we can add the lack of education, specific skills, respectively the lack of desire or motivation to work. An essential aspect for increasing employability in rural areas is the personal and professional development of jobseekers during the process of identifying and seeking it. Entrepreneurship has a decisive role to play in increasing employment and social integration of the population in rural areas. In order to reduce unemployment and increase the employment rate of the rural population, rural entrepreneurs must be supported and encouraged to capitalize on. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the participation of the population to labour force in rural areas. The data were collected from the website of The National Institute of Statistics and were analysed using the descriptive method. The results show that unemployment rates are higher in rural areas, in the context of aging and increased migration in these areas.

The paper will investigate the fortifications erected by private entities in rural areas throughout the Stato da Mar territories of the Republic of Venice. While the state structures are definitely more studied, the private Venetian defenses of the territory are mostly ignored from a comparative discussion encompassing a larger area. The defenses constructed by the noble families differ in type and layout, depending on their location and destination: there are inland tower houses in Crete designed to control the territory against native uprisings, and there are seaside castles in Dalmatia that are also considering naval raids. We will analyze these private Venetian defenses in their variety and importance for their regions and the Republic.
