    PurposeInformation and digital literacy have recently received much interest, and they are being viewed as critical strategic organisational resources and skills that employees need to obtain in order to function at their workplaces. Yet, the role of employees' literacy seems to be neglected in current literature. This paper aims to explore the roles that information and digital literacy play on the employees' perception in relation to usefulness and ease of use of digital technologies and consequently their intention to use technology in the practices they perform at the workplace.Design/methodology/approachThis paper builds a conceptual model with key constructs (information literacy and digital literacy) as new antecedents to the technology acceptance model and aims to establish that information literacy and digital literacy are indirect determinants of employees' intention to use digital technologies at the workplace. The data set used in this paper comprises of 121 respondents and structural equation modelling was used.FindingsThe findings reveal that both information literacy and digital literacy have a direct impact on perceived ease of use of technology but not on the perceive usefulness. The findings also show that both literacies have an indirect impact on the intention to use digital technology at work via attitude towards use.Practical implicationsManagers and decision-makers should pay close attention to the literacy levels of their staff. Because literacies are such an important skillset in the digital age, managers and chief information officers may want to start by identifying which work groups or individuals require literacy training and instruction, and then provide specific and relevant training or literacy interventions to help those who lack sufficient literacy.Originality/valueThis is one of the first studies to consider information literacy and digital literacy as new antecedents of the technology acceptance model at the workplace environment.

    Abstract Digitalisation is changing society and the sciences. In the future, it will increasingly affect Finnish archaeology and the preservation of cultural heritage data as a cross-cutting factor for materials and work practices. The research focused on the current state and characteristics of the digitalisation of both global and Finnish archaeology. This study is the first doctoral dissertation that discusses the digitalisation of Finnish archaeology. Technologisation and computerisation of archaeology have been going on for decades, but even in a global context, the concept of digitalisation is rarely attached to archaeological discussion of these trends. In this study, archaeology is examined through an interdisciplinary conceptual (theoretical) framework, which allowed comparison of the characteristics of digitalisation between global and Finnish archaeology. The aim was also to recognise digital development goals that may be either shared between various disciplines or specific to the field of archaeology. Archaeology was studied by utilising a variety of data sources and case examples. The answers to questions regarding digital development needs can be generalised to Finnish archaeology in its entirety. The evolution towards digitalisation of global archaeology is a consequence of the development of information technologies. The internal development of discipline and emerging needs have also contributed to it. Archaeological concepts and paradigms related to digital transition are partly internal and continuously evolving. Technological development is uneven at the global level: there are trailblazers who already utilise the latest technologies. These trailblazers are currently developing digital infrastructures of various sizes, even transnationally. This trend is common in various disciplines, and during research work, it was identified as a predominant trend of international archaeology. The internationally-recognised digital development goals of archaeology have not been widely discussed in Finland. Important areas of development include guidelines and best practices for digitality, understanding the importance of digital management and the digital data life-cycle, creating opportunities for the digitalisation of archaeological projects and processes, and providing access to original data collections. Tutkimus on ensimmäinen arkeologian digitalisaatiota käsittelevä väitöskirja Suomessa.

    Abstract Aims and objectives: To identify key areas of competence for digitalisation in healthcare settings, describe healthcare professionals’ competencies in these areas and identify factors related to their competence. Background: Digitalisation requires changes in healthcare practices, policies and actions to revise job expectations and workflows. The aspects of patient safety and integration of digitalisation into the professional context necessitate an assessment of healthcare professionals’ competencies in digitalisation. Design: Systematic review. Methods: A systematic review was conducted following Center of Reviews and Dissemination guidelines, including application of a PRISMA statement. Four databases—CINAHL (EBSCO), MEDLINE (Ovid), Web of Science and Academic Search Premiere (EBSCO)—were searched for relevant original peer‐reviewed studies published between 2012–2017. Twelve were chosen for final analysis: five quantitative studies and seven qualitative studies, which were, respectively, subjected to narrative and thematic synthesis. Results: Key competence areas regarding digitalisation from a healthcare perspective identified encompass knowledge of digital technology and the digital skills required to provide good patient care, including associated social and communication skills, and ethical considerations of digitalisation in patient care. Healthcare professionals need the motivation and willingness to acquire experience of digitalisation in their professional context. Collegial and organisational support appear to be essential factors for building positive experiences of digitalisation for healthcare professionals. Conclusion: Healthcare organisations should both pay attention to the social environment of a workplace and create a positive atmosphere if they want to improve the response to digitalisation. The successful implementation of new technology requires organisational and collegial support. Relevance to clinical practice: Recommendations for clinical practice include the following: development of competence in digitalisation by healthcare professionals when using technological equipment to minimise errors; provision of sufficient resources, equipment and room for technology usage; and provision of regular education that considers the participants’ competencies.

    Tiivistelmä SoloENTRE ja Yrittävä kulttuuri -hankkeen tavoitteet pohjautuivat maakuntaohjelmaan ja maakunnalliseen yrittäjyyskasvatusstrategiaan. Hankkeessa rakennettiin yhteistyössä yksin- ja mikroyrittäjien, yrityspalveluorganisaatioiden ja tutkimustoimijoiden kanssa uudenlainen mikroyrittäjyyden palvelukokonaisuus, jolla tuetaan yritysten kasvua, työllistämistä ja vientiä. Toimenpiteet tukevat erityisesti yksin- ja mikroyrittäjien kestävää kasvua ja uudistumista. Hankkeen päärahoittajana oli Pohjois-Pohjanmaan liitto, Euroopan Aluekehitysrahasto (EAKR) Suomen rakennerahasto-ohjelman kautta. Hankkeessa selvitettiin yrittäjyyden ilmapiirin nykytilaa tuottamalla tietoa asenteista yrittäjyyteen ja median välittämistä yrittäjyyden mielikuvista. Pohjois-Pohjanmaan nuorten, opetushenkilöstön ja yrittäjien asenteita yrittäjyyttä kohtaan selvitettiin kyselyjen ja haastattelujen kautta, lisäksi median välittämää viestiä yrittäjyydestä tutkittiin painettujen lehtien viestintää analysoimalla. Hanke vaikutti yrittäjyysilmastoon positiivisella viestinnällä ja tapahtumilla yhdessä median ja yrittäjäjärjestöjen kanssa. Yrittävää kulttuuria vahvistettiin myös tallentamalla virtuaalisille alustoille yrittäjyyteen kannustavaa aineistoa. Hanke osallistui yrittävää kulttuuria edistävään valtakunnalliseen verkostoyhteistyöhön. Hankkeessa kehitettiin digitalisaation, yhteisöllisyyden ja tulevaisuuden työnteon muodot tukevia palveluita yrittäjyyttä suunnitteleville tai jo yrittäjinä toimiville. Hankkeessa yrityspalvelutoimijat kartoittivat yritysten palvelutarpeet ja tuottivat palvelutarjontaansa erityisesti yksinyrittäjille suunnattuja palveluita. Hanke kehitti ja tuotti lisäksi yksin- ja mikroyrityksille sekä yrityspalveluorganisaatioiden käyttöön yrityksen kasvun hallinnan ja digitalisoinnin valmiuksien arvioinnin ja kehittämisen avoimet sähköiset palvelut yhdessä kohderyhmien kanssa. Hanke kehitti ja tuotti uudenlaisen verkkopohjaisen kypsyysmallin myös oppilaitoksille yrittävän kulttuurin kehittymisen ja yrittäjyyskasvatuksen toteutumisen itsearviointiin ja päämäärätietoiseen kehittämiseen. Palvelu mahdollistaa yrittäjyyskasvatuksen tavoitteellisen seurannan ja tarvittavien toimenpiteiden suuntaamisen saatujen tulosten pohjalta. Pohjois-Pohjanmaalla luotu MicroENTRE:n mikroyritysten ydinryhmämalli on mikroyrittäjien vertaisverkosto, joka on laajentunut jo useaan maakuntaan ja sille on jatkuva tarve. Toiminnan aikana on huomioitu tarve vahvistaa yrityspalvelutoimijoiden asiantuntijuuden jakamista ja vertaistoimintaa. SoloENTRE ja Yrittävä kulttuuri -hankkeessa kehitettiin yrityspalvelutoimijoiden verkostoyhteistyötä. Toiminnan kautta osallistujien asiantuntijuus ja osaaminen vahvistui tiedon ja kokemusten jakamisen sekä vertaistuen kautta. Abstract The objectives of the SoloENTRE and entrepreneurial culture -project were based on the provincial program and the provincial entrepreneurship education strategy. The project, in cooperation with micro-entrepreneurs, business service organizations and research actors, built a new set of micro-entrepreneurship services to support growth, job creation and export. The measures will support the sustainable growth and renewal of micro-entrepreneurs. The project was financed by the Council of Oulu Region the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Finnish Structural Funds programme. The project examined the current state of the entrepreneurial climate by providing information on attitudes towards entrepreneurship and media-mediated images of entrepreneurship. The attitudes of young people, teachers, and entrepreneurs in Northern Ostrobothnia concerning entrepreneurship were examined through surveys and interviews. Media-related attitudes about entrepreneurship were examined by analysing newspaper communication. The project contributed to the entrepreneurial climate through positive communication and events together with the media and business organizations. To strengthen the entrepreneurial culture, the project created materials that encourages entrepreneurship for various virtual platforms. The project participated in a nationwide network collaboration promoting an entrepreneurial culture. The project developed services that support digitalization, community, and future work models for those who are planning or already working as entrepreneurs. In the project, business service operators created services for the self-employed. The project also developed and produced a new type of web-based maturity model for educational institutions for self-assessment and goal-oriented development of experimental cultural development and the implementation of entrepreneurship education. The core group model of MicroENTRE micro-enterprises created in Northern Ostrobothnia is a peer network of micro-entrepreneurs, which has already expanded to several provinces. There is a significant need for the sharing and peer review of the expertise of business service operators. The SoloENTRE and entrepreneurial culture -project developed network cooperation between business service providers. Through the activities, the expertise and competence of the participants was strengthened through the sharing of knowledge and experiences and peer support.

    This study analysed how migraine patients assume to improve their daily life if wearable sensors provide them pre-warnings of approaching or impending migraine attacks. The study analysed the use of new technology in identifying pre-symptoms in migraine patients using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) focusing on the assumed usefulness of a wearable device. The study added understanding of getting migraine patients to accept smart technology to support their own treatments. The results were drawn from a sample of altogether 582 migraine patients with or without an aura. The difference between migraine with aura and without aura is that migraine with aura precedes physical symptoms like visual disturbances, numbness, and difficulty in speech, while there are no pre-symptoms in migraine without aura. The assumed wearable device (WBAN) notifies, however, the bio-signals of an oncoming migraine attack. Due to current achievements with available digitalised tools to monitor health and wellbeing, also self-care is benefiting. Pre-migraine symptoms are among the biggest challenges in identifying migraine. Noting this, our study addressed the value of wearable sensors in early recognition of migraine attacks.

    Tiivistelmä Digitaaliset teknologiat laajentavat arjen kielenoppimisen mahdollisuuksia, minkä vuoksi on tarpeen kehittää myös kieltenopettajien koulutuksen käytänteitä. Tämä tutkimus selvittää, mitä tapahtuu, kun tulevat kieltenopettajat opettelevat suunnittelemaan kielenoppimista hybrideissä ympäristöissä. Tutkimuksessa risteävät soveltava kielentutkimus, sosiokulttuuris-ekologinen kielipedagogiikka ja teknologiantutkimus. Väitöskirja tarkastelee yliopistokurssia, jossa kieltenopettajaopiskelijat suunnittelevat ja toteuttavat verkkovälitteisen kielenoppimisprojektin. Kurssin tavoite on antaa uusia näkökulmia kieleen, kielenoppimiseen ja digitaalisten teknologioiden pedagogiseen käyttöön. Neksusanalyysin avulla vastataan seuraaviin tutkimuskysymyksiin: 1) Miten neksusanalyysi soveltuu pedagogisen muutoksen tutkimiseen? 2) Miten tulevat kieltenopettajat opettelevat organisoimaan monimutkaisia pedagogisia tilanteita? 3) Miten tulevien kieltenopettajien ammatillinen näkemys ja toimijuus kehittyvät yhteistoiminnassa ja merkitysneuvotteluissa? Tutkimusaineistoon kuuluu videoita osallistujien toiminnasta; verkkoympäristöjen materiaaleja kuten keskustelulistoja, chat-lokeja, suunnitteludokumentteja, kuvia ja suunniteltuja oppimistehtäviä; sähköposteja; opiskelijoiden reflektiokirjoitelmia ja tutkijoiden havainnot toiminnasta. Tutkimustulokset osoittavat, että kurssin designvetoinen, teoriaa ja käytäntöä yhdistävä prosessi antaa mahdollisuuden harjoitella yhteistoiminnallista, multimodaalista toimintaa ja nopeaa huomion suuntaamista sekä alustan merkitysneuvotteluille. Toiminnassa syntyvä tasapainoinen vuorovaikutusjärjestys tukee yhteistoimintaa ja merkitysneuvotteluja opiskelijoiden ja kurssin opettajan välillä. Opiskelijat hallitsevat taitavasti hybridissä tilassa syntyviä monimutkaisia pedagogisia tapahtumia ja hyödyntävät siinä toistensa ja opettajien tukea. Opiskelijoiden toiminta ja vuorovaikutus suunnittelutyössä ja oppimistapahtumien hallinnoinnissa tuovat esiin keskenään kilpailevia näkemyksiä kielenoppimisesta ja opettamisesta. Pedagoginen muutos ja sen haasteet näkyvät opiskelijoiden hetkellisen toiminnan ja kieltenopettajakoulutuksen laajempien diskurssien välisessä suhteessa. Tutkimus osoittaa designvetoisen toiminnan ja neksusanalyysin tarjoumat ammatillisen näkemyksen ja toimijuuden tukemiselle ja tutkimukselle kieltenopettajien koulutuksessa ja täydennyskoulutuksessa. Abstract Digital technologies in our everyday lives provide varied possibilities for language learning, which has created a need to develop the practices of language teacher education as well. This study aims to shed light on what is going on when preservice teachers (PSTs) are learning to design for language learning projects in hybrid environments. The study is situated in an intersection of applied language studies, sociocultural-ecological language pedagogy and technology. The research setting is provided by a university course where PSTs design and carry out an online language learning project. The course objective is to provide new perspectives on language, language learning and the pedagogical use of digital technologies. Nexus analysis is used to answer the following research questions: 1) How is nexus analysis suited for studying pedagogical change? 2) How do future language teachers learn to manage complex pedagogical situations? 3) How do future language teachers’ professional vision and agency emerge in the joint activities and sensemaking? The research materials include video recordings of the participants’ work during the course project; materials accumulated in online platforms, including discussion posts, chat logs, planning documents, images and designed learning activities; emails; PSTs’ reflection papers; and observations by the researchers. The findings can be summarised as follows: The design-driven process with hands-on work functions as a site for PSTs to practice collaborative, multimodal action and fluid shifts of attention, and to engage in negotiation for meanings. Collaboration and sensemaking are facilitated by the emergence of a balanced interaction order in the team between the PSTs and the teacher. PSTs draw on their peers’ and teachers’ support in the skilful management of complex, pedagogical events in hybrid space. PSTs actions and interactions related to the design process and the in-situ orchestration of learning events reveal competing perspectives on language learning and teaching. Pedagogical change and its challenges become visible in the relationship between the PSTs’ situated action and discourses of longer trajectories in language teacher education. The research suggests that design-driven approaches and nexus analysis could be utilised in language teacher education to support the emergence of professional vision and agency.

    Authors: Khan, I. S. (Iqra Sadaf);

    Abstract The needs of the manufacturing industry during the last decade have shifted from linear and manual processes towards digital and intelligent progressions and solutions. The fourth industrial revolution, Industry 4.0 (I4.0), has the potential to address these needs and transform traditional business operations into collaborative and innovative industrial manoeuvres through digitalisation. In addition, manufacturing industries implementing advanced technologies for digitalisation and innovation strive for long-term productivity and efficiency based on industrial value creation and sustainable development (SD) across economic, environmental, and societal dimensions. However, the current body of conceptual and empirical research on I4.0 within the manufacturing industry lacks an in-depth investigation of the related sustainability paradigm and value-creation perspectives in managing I4.0-based innovation ecosystems. The purpose of this dissertation is to contribute to the I4.0 literature by exploring the operational logics and impacts of I4.0 on sustainable development and value creation for organisations. A theoretical and empirical lens is applied from four different perspectives: a holistic review of the literature, an implementation view at national level, an innovation ecosystem view, and a narrowed view at the project level. The dissertation adopts a qualitative approach building on the systematic mapping study (SMS) and case study methods. The results regarding I4.0 and sustainability relationships provide a theoretical ground for the sustainable implications of I4.0 and identify triple bottom line (TBL), circular economy (CE), and sustainable business models (SBM) as inter-related themes under SD–I4.0 research. An I4.0-based implementation pathway for digitalisation and sustainability is provided with respect to drivers, barriers, and opportunities for successful digitalisation in Finland. Furthermore, the significance of triple helix collaboration for innovation and value co-creation in an I4.0 environment is explored, and enablers for successful collaborations in the innovation ecosystems are identified. The results further strengthen the I4.0-based collaborative innovation literature by providing empirical evidence related to the network of interdependencies (goal, task, resource) formed therein. Together, these interplays provide new knowledge concerning the impact of I4.0 on sustainable development and collaborative value-creation for practitioners and academics. Tiivistelmä Teollisuus on siirtymässä lineaarisista ja manuaalisista prosesseista kohti digitaalisia ja älykkäitä ratkaisuja. Neljäs teollinen vallankumous, Teollisuus 4.0 (T4.0), voi vastata näihin tarpeisiin ja muuttaa perinteisen liiketoiminnan digitalisaation avulla yhteistyöhön ja innovointiin perustuviksi käytänteiksi. Hyödyntämällä uusimpia teknologioita digitalisaatioon sekä innovointiin valmistava teollisuus pyrkii pitkän aikavälin tuottavuuden ja tehokkuuden kehitykseen, perustuen arvonluontiin ja kestävyyteen taloudellisesta, ympäristöllisestä ja yhteiskunnallisesta näkökulmasta. Nykyisestä valmistavaa teollisuutta käsittelevästä T4.0:n käsitteellisestä ja empiirisestä kirjallisuudesta puuttuu kuitenkin tarkempi tutkimus kestävän kehityksen paradigmasta ja arvonluonnista T4.0-pohjaisten innovaatioekosysteemien johtamisessa. Tämän väitöskirjan tarkoituksena on tuottaa tietoa liittyen T4.0:n toimintalogiikkaan ja sen vaikutuksista kestävään kehitykseen ja organisaatioiden arvonluontiin. Näitä ilmiöitä tarkastellaan neljästä teoreettisesta ja empiirisestä näkökulmasta: tutkimalla aihepiirin kirjallisuutta, kansallisen tason toteutusta, innovaatioekosysteemiä ja projektitason toteutusta. Väitöskirjassa hyödynnetään laadullista tutkimustapaa, joka perustuu systemaattiseen kirjallisuuden kartoitustutkimukseen ja tapaustutkimusmenetelmiin. Tulokset koskien T4.0:n ja kestävän kehityksen suhdetta ja liittymäkohtia luovat teoreettisen perustan T4.0:n vaikutuksille kestävään kehitykseen. Niissä tunnistetaan kolmoistilinpäätös (triple bottom line), kiertotalous ja kestävät liiketoimintamallit keskeisiksi toisiinsa liittyviksi teemoiksi. Tuloksissa esitellään myös digitalisaation ja kestävän kehityksen T4.0-pohjainen toteutuspolku Suomessa ja siihen liittyvät ajurit, esteet ja mahdollisuudet. Lisäksi esitetään kolmoiskierreyhteistyön (triple helix) merkitys innovointiin ja arvon yhteisluontiin T4.0-ympäristössä, ja kartoitetaan onnistuneen yhteistyön mahdollistajia innovaatioekosysteemeissä. Tulokset vahvistavat T4.0-innovaatioyhteistyökirjallisuutta tarjoamalla empiiristä näyttöä verkostossa muodostuvista keskinäisistä riippuvuuksista liittyen yhteisiin tavoitteisiin, tehtäviin ja resursseihin. Tutkimuksen kokonaistulokset tarjoavat uutta tietoa T4.0:n vaikutuksista kestävään kehitykseen ja yhteistyössä tehtävään arvonluontiin sekä käytännön toimijoille että tutkijoille.

    Abstract Digitalisation has been identified as one of the major trends changing society and business. However, companies are not making the most of all the opportunities that digitalisation has to offer. In the digital transformation process, it is important to start with assessing the current state. Digital maturity assessment can be used to analyse the current level of digital readiness and performance of an organisation. Micro-enterprises are the smallest group of enterprises and numerically the dominant enterprise type in economies. They differ from larger enterprises in terms of organisational characteristics, such as their unique attitude towards digital tools and application deployment. Furthermore, micro-enterprises are lagging behind in exploring the possibilities that come with digitalisation. This article describes the design process, usage possibilities, and initial experiences of a digital maturity model, especially from the viewpoint of micro-enterprises. As result, this article presents a micro-enterprise-focused self-evaluation framework providing holistic digital maturity status.

    Abstract Excellence in product development can be achieved by integrating various stakeholders’ requirements into a winning offering. After-market services have become increasingly important for companies, as digitalisation enables new business models and revenue streams. The integration of customer care must be performed in the product development (PD) process in the early concepting and development phases in order to ensure an excellent customer experience. The traditional elements of care — spare parts, service tools, and support — must be coupled with new services. Future cutting-edge products demand new self-support, repair, and upgrade capabilities that are enabled by the digitalisation of product-service assets and low-cost distribution platforms. This study aims to increase knowledge on how care capabilities can be created in the PD by analysing the critical care inputs and their effects in the product concepting phase. In addition, the critical care outputs in the case company’s product development process in the main phases are presented.

    The changing media landscape and proliferation of social media potentially increase agency amongst researchers to communicate individually. It also points to a need for studying science communication at an organisational level to understand how science communication activities can be collectively organised to have a substantial impact. Despite these changes, there are ongoing questions regarding the perceived value of science communication and the ways in which it can receive institutional support in credit-driven academic cultures. Therefore, this study set out to explore how incentives relate to researchers’ communication activity and how these can be influenced by digital communication contexts. This article presents a qualitative analysis of semi-structured interviews with 17 researchers and 15 communication professionals in Finland. Results indicate that academic leaders are in the key position to support organisational science communication culture, and their acknowledgement for science communication can be more effective than encouragement from in-house communication staff. This suggests that there may be a key gap vis-à-vis training in science communication and engagement which is targeted towards scientific and organisational leaders. The results also imply there is enduring value in communication activities featuring in periodical performance evaluation and that analytic data from digital media endeavours can form an intrinsic reward.

Tiivistelmä Digitalisaatio muokkaa yhteiskuntaa ja tieteitä. Se tulee vaikuttamaan yhä kattavammin Suomen arkeologiaan ja kulttuuriperinnön säilyttämiseen aineistot ja työkäytännöt läpileikkaavana tekijänä. Väitöstutkimuksessa kartoitettiin globaalin ja suomalaisen arkeologian digitalisoitumisen nykytilaa ja ominaispiirteitä. Tutkimus on ensimmäinen arkeologian digitalisaatiota käsittelevä väitöskirja Suomessa. Arkeologian teknologisoituminen ja tietokoneistuminen on jatkunut jo vuosikymmeniä, mutta yleismaailmallisestikin tämä kehityskulku liitetään aiheen tiimoilta käytävässä arkeologisessa keskustelussa vain harvoin digitalisaatio-käsitteeseen. Tutkimuksessa arkeologiaa tarkastellaan tieteidenvälisen käsitteellisteoreettisen viitekehyksen kautta, mikä mahdollisti globaalin ja Suomen arkeologian digitalisoitumisen ominaispiirteiden vertailun. Tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin sekä tieteenaloille yhteisiä että arkeologian alalla todennettuja digitaalisia kehittämiskohteita. Arkeologiaa tutkittiin erilaisten aineistolähteitä ja esimerkkitapauksia hyödyntäen. Digitaalisiin kysymyksiin saadut vastaukset ja digitaaliset kehittämistarpeet ovat yleistettävissä koskemaan koko suomalaista arkeologiaa. Globaali arkeologian kehitys kohti digitalisaatiota tapahtuu sekä yleisen informaatioteknologisen kehityksen että tieteenalan sisäisen kehityksen ja muotoutuvien tarpeiden myötä. Digitalisaatioon liittyvät käsitteet ja paradigmat ovat osin tieteen sisäisiä ja jatkuvasti uudelleenmuotoutuvia. Teknologisoitumisen kehityskulku on arkeologian globaalilla tasolla epätasainen: on olemassa edelläkävijätahoja, jotka hyödyntävät uusimpia teknologioita. Edelläkävijät kehittävät parhaillaan vaihtelevan laajuisia, jopa valtioiden välisiä, digitaalisia infrastruktuureja. Tämä kehityskulku on eri tieteiden aloille yhteinen, ja se tunnistettiin tutkimuksen teon aikana vallitsevaksi trendiksi kansainvälisessä arkeologiassa. Kansainvälisesti arkeologiassa todennetut kehittämiskohteet eivät ole olleet juuri esillä Suomessa. Tärkeitä kehittämisen aihealueita ovat digitaalisuuteen liittyvät ohjeet ja käytännöt, digitaalisen aineistonhallinnan ja elinkaaren merkityksen ymmärtäminen, projekteille ja prosesseille suunnattujen digitalisoitumismahdollisuuksien luominen ja niiden hyödyntäminen sekä alkuperäisten dataoriginaalien saatavuuden kehittäminen.

    Authors: Khan, I. S. (Iqra Sadaf);
